Nipplestockings, I'm saying that they should just pass the marriage law while also letting pastors refuse service. Not that difficult.
That law has already been passed.
^
Marriage Act 2013, it has been fully in force since March 13th this year.
After reading a
Guardian article, it appears that Nigel Farage doesent have a stance on gay marriage . . .
"appeared to want to avoid coming down one side or the other partly due to divisions within his party's ranks, and fears that whatever position he adopts will alienate some of his support".
The reasons why Im not such a big fan of UKIP are . . . .
- Their view on climate change
- They want to stop the smoking ban
- Relax gun laws, maybe stop the hand gun ban
- They want to leave the EU
- Flate rate tax (not sure if this one is true or not)
But one reason that I like UKIP is because whether you like them or not, they are a party with character. It isn't the same old party robots like the other parties. Nigel Farage is also a good debater and orator.
+ Northern Ireland governs itself Clearly, they have their own "parliament" (Northern Ireland Assembly). The Marriage Act only applies to England and Wales.
(UKIP are not very strong in Northern Ireland as the chamber is divided between the Union/Republic issue, with two parties supporting each side. Northern Ireland and Northern Irish politics are relatively religious when compared to the rest of the UK, that may explain there views to gay marriage.)
