Napoleonic Wars North American Cup 2014

We are happy to announce and welcome everyone to the premier of the first ever Napoleonic Wars North American Cup! The NWNAC’s purpose is to mirror the NWEC and as such will follow the same general rules and format. This tournament is designed to bring together the best meelers from across the continent and pit them against each other in regional match ups. We wish good luck to all participants and may the best region win!

What is the NWNAC?

The Napoleonic Wars North American Cup is strictly a North American tournament. In order to be eligible for this tournament, applicants who wish to sign up must be a resident of a state/province within a North American nation. Regions are limited to one groupfighting team only. National and regional mergers will be allowed under circumstances involving a low number of applicants, but will ultimately be subject to the NWNAC governing judges’ discretion. Note that anyone who gives false information on where they reside and joins a regional team other than their own may be just cause for disqualification for said team.

SIGN-UPS

For those who wish to be the captain of your regional team you must first submit an application detailing why you should be picked for captain and what prior leadership experience you have. The governing judges will then decide captaincy of a regional team based on a majority two-thirds vote. Once chosen by the judges as a captain you may then select a co-captain of your own choosing and the rest of your team members. Please use the following form to apply for captain of a team.

It is expected that the choosing of a regional team's line-up be genuinely and absolutely intended to produce the strongest possible team for respective national regions. The NWEC judges will review appeals against biased team selection should there be issues. We hope that friend, regiment or any other sort of bias does not infringe the process of forming the best possible regional teams.

After you are chosen as captain of your team please register using the following form; please include Steam for the Captain and Co-Captains.

Region Rules
1.1 Each region is to have one team.

1.2 Each region is allowed a minimum of 8 people and maximum of 10 people on their team. (Subject to change)

1.3 Regional captains are in charge of picking their own teams. (You may hold try-outs)

1.4 The organizers retain the right to intervene in case of malpractices on behalf of a regional captain.

1.5 Only persons who hold residence in the region are eligible to play for the region. (Individual exceptions may be granted).

1.6 People who have not played a single match for their region may be replaced in the roster during the tournament. Once a player has played in a single match for their nation he is permanently on the team roster.

Tournament Rules
2.1 The tournament has a pool stage and an elimination stage. The winners and second place teams will progress from the groups to the quarterfinals after which all matches are played in a single elimination fashion.

2.2 Every victory in the pool stage will award your region 3 points. Every draw in the pool stage will award your region 1 point. (In the case of a draw points-wise individual round-difference will be used as a tiebreaker, and if round-difference would also result in a draw, 9 additional rounds will be played between the drawing regions.)

2.3 Matches are to be scheduled between team captains, and a referee is to be informed at least 24 hours (a day) in advance. (A referee is either one of the organizers, or someone that the organizers approve as a referee). A match may not proceed without a referee present.

2.4 Each team is to have at least 8 players on the server at the time the match is going to begin.

2.5 Each match consists of 20 rounds. If a team reaches a majority of 11 rounds won before all 20 rounds have been played the match will end. In case of a 10-all draw in a knock-out stage match an additional round will be played to decide the winner.

2.6 Only people on the team roster are to be used in the matches. Players must use their listed name on the team roster when in game and must use only Warband ID for all their matches.

2.7 Matches may only be played on NWNAC provided servers.

In-Game Name
3.1 Matches are fought 10 versus 10. If a team cannot field 10 or more players the match will be fought 9 versus 9. If a team cannot field 9 or more players the match will be fought 8 versus 8. If a team cannot field less than 8 players they have to field as many players as they can against an 8-man opposition. Any evidence of a deliberate concealment of available players for a match, in an effort to reduce the match size from 10 vs 10 to smaller may prompt disciplinary action against the team involved by NWNAC organizers.

3.2 No shooting.

3.3 Only normal line infantry rankers are to be used (i.e. no guards or skirmishers).

3.4 Only bayonets are to be used.

3.5 Kicking is allowed.

Player Conduct
4.1 Pay attention to the admin messages.

4.2 Accept defeat or victory gracefully.

4.3 If you wish to appeal a match result or referee decision please do so on the forum in a respectful manner rather than during a match in progress. Your appeal will be reviewed by NWNAC judges.

Organizer Discretion
5.1 Common sense will be used by organizers and NWNAC judges in making judgments.

5.2 Anything not specifically mentioned may be enacted at the organizers discretion (we cannot cover every eventuality and as such some stuff will have to be made up along the way).

5.3 The severity of an infraction and as such the degree of the punishment will be up to the organizers to decide.

I need all captains to PM or steam message me their official roster along with any substitutes. Once again the Mountain Region is now combined with North West Central Region. If you are still having trouble filling your roster, please contact me immediately. Once I have received all the rosters, the bracket will be made.

RESERVEDDDED

Another thing to be clear about, these regions currently listed are our draft. This is the first attempt at this event in North America, which, as well know is basically our three main countries of the USA, Canada, and Mexico. If the regional sign ups turn out unbalanced, we'll switch some states/provinces around so as to rebalance.

The "regions" are based off the divisions on this map

"lmao then dont sign up or post..."

No need for your negative comments. The regions are as of yet not completely decided on, we need to see figures pop up first.

I'm sorry we're taking the effort to pioneer this new experience for the North American community and it doesn't quite fit your stellar expectations.

LET'S GO FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!!!!
