Though there's no way of knowing, I think he's probably still alive. If I remember correctly, all the wounds were treated. Unless some sort of infection develops or he dies from shock, I think it possible that he's carrying on.

I'm more interested to know how many people think that Rikkon may play some role down the line, he's barely been talked about, he's been through a lot of pain, and if the motif of being like their wolf continues, Rikkon will be savage, like Shaggydog.

George R.R Martin has said that the final 2 books are going to focus most on the north and the white walkers. I can see Rikkon's role increasing.
