Yeah, but why would I buy the game if I didn't know how good it is? I'll wait to see some footage of the alpha and read some people's opinions, and then I'll pledge some money if I want to.

True, but it was on Kickstarter which means that without some people funding it, it may have not been created.

Money doesn't make the game good. I could bring up numerous examples of publishers having hundreds of millions of dollars at their disposal, yet the game turns out awful.
