Oh the pain of high quality gears being so damn expensive.

Its funnier that I looked up ww2 gears, some of them cost 90-200.  But while a sack coat, only 1 deformed pocket and 4 button....while the tunic has like more pocket and decoration.....but the sack coat cost like damn 200 bucks to 400!  >:(

It could be worse, you could reenact a Napoleonic officer, especially one that wore a particularly fancy uniform. They want $240 for one freakin' epaulette.

That said, style don't come cheap, and you'd be the cock of the walk at any reenactment if you showed up in duds like that. Hell, I might just wear it as every day clothing.

Of course, I also think lines should be able to move in double rank without having emotional breakdowns.

WWII wasn't always cheap. For a GOOD tunic, you'd spend around $250 in the early-mid '90s. That's what my dad ended up doing.

Don't know what happened, but I'm sure the Chinese pumping out repros really spurred the Euro and then the American vendors into competition.

On the flip side, ACW shit has gotten worse. So many shite repros out there and they're so fucking expensive. If anything, there's more farbs out there now except you've got the campaigner regiments out there which look great.
Humans are extremely complicated creatures. Death uncomplicates them to a frightening degree...

I've been askin Zac that question for centuries.

But then, I don't even know what I'll be in 2015.

Docm, you managed to find the most expensive tailor in the re-enactworld. He does make quality, though.
