EU 4 or Crusader Kings II?
« on: November 23, 2013, 07:00:43 am »
I just got them both, and I was wondering which would be better to start learning first or whichever might be the most fun. Opinions?

Depends. If you want to get a feel for basic grand strategy, play EU4 first, but ck2 is different enough so that eu4 won't really prepare you for it. Just do whichever looks the most interesting to you.

Wouldnt say, that i like CK 2 very much, but i prefer the Europa series, so EU IV is better for me.

Both Europa Universalis and Crusader kings are fantastic grand strategy games. In Crusader kings 2 you are playing to enhance your house rather than having the greatest country or the most amount of provinces. You get score by family prestige and piety.

In Europa Universalis you are competing as a Nation, not as a house or family. You control a nation, rather than a family. You get score by technology, income, trade, colonization etc. rather than having to trifle with that person or that sister or that daughter or that matrineal marriage.
