I take it the ones from NW are too modern/fiddily to recycle for the era?

Yeah, the Reiter model kind of resembles it if i remember correctly.

The Reiter armor is the exact same thing as a cuirassier armor in WFaS. WFaS had so many awesome models for uniforms, including the awesome German Pikemen Mercenaries and Regulars, German Musketeer Regulars, and the Rondartschieren as well.

No the Reiters use the Half-Armor and a Zischagge (helmet) as protection, but there is still a lobster armor called Black-Armor in the game. But all WFaS armors have a really weird lighting effect compared to NW ones. But we will implement some of course.

Remember that we wrote tons of custom shaders for NW. To get the best looking results, you should switch to NW shaders and use these instead. Warband shaders do not have Environment maps, color specular and bump mapping in a single shader. We also tweaked the already existent shaders, such as bump mapping. If you apply the right shaders, and use them right, you can get great results.

Olaf if possible, can you put the name of the NW shaders down somewhere? I'm sure these guys aren't the only onces that would like to know them. ^^

A possible suggestion, if you can in the future I don't suppose you can have some common looking firearms for the rabble whilst the Officers wield some slightly nicer decorative looking swords and firearms?

A pretty minor thing I know since you are still putting the basics together but a good thing to consider for the future ;).

That sounds a bit too mid 18th century for a 17th century mod.

Just check the NW materials and meshes, and how we applied them.

Sorry Olafson, i tried some shaders but the uniform/texture itself looks very strange.

Here is a screenshot of the WfaS cuirassier armor in CoW:

- The helmets are not "compatible" with the armour
- The pistol is also not "compatible"
- The buckle on the shoulders of the armor float about the armour, and they are just two black squares with the buckletexture.

It looks fine to me. They are such minor discrepancies, I don't think it would really matter... It still looks great.

Of course its not a porblem of the shader, the shaders are alright. As you said, its a mesh problem.
