I have no qualms with gender, even if it might be farbish thing by itself, as long as they do their impression sufficiently. Of course going for something more period-correct would be favourable, but I think it's simply extension to the good old problem of some folks being too preoccupied who has the most expensive bling bling period correct uniform, but is incapable of marching more than one minute before having to call for meal-on-wheels to the rescue, or someone who is barely acceptable, but passes off the actual portrayal of soldier by mannerisms etc with flying colours.
