If we do this we might as well enact a Chinese government style black out on all political symbols and images because a majority of them have a pretty bloody past directly or by association and then disable the Image tag all together. All moderation and development staff don't have time to go on a political symbol witch hunt.

Basically, If you are not sure how offensive the image is check up with a moderator.

No. I assume it is trying to be funny if they aren't being serious. Call me when they get associated with a mass genocide of the 21st century and triggering a world war.

The JIDF is not a joke. They're virtually a hate group... except against everything non-Jewish.

I'll assume it's fine to use all hate groups then.

That's a terrorist group who have murdered quite a few people and an obvious attempt to try and make a joke out of it; it was just terrible humour on Greenbeard's behalf.

Common sense and general decency spring to mind with regards to these topics.

I'll just copy paste the PM I sent to Joe in order to help clarify. As Sean said; use common sense and report anything that is inappropriate:

Known terrorist group support would come under rule 1 as it would be advocating violence against others, in addition it would come under FSE right. Nazi symbols will only be policed due to legal issues, this may impact on a few reenactment groups unfortunately. While FSE doesn't wish to burden itself by removing every symbol of every political group that may have sparked controversy in the past such as Soviet Russia; it will not tolerate threads that glorify violence perpetrated by such groups in the past.

Depends on the context, those affected and whether your endorsing it in the reference. If you just want to mention or refer back to an act of terrorism that occurred x amount of years ago I would assume that would be fine provided its part of a conversation.

If someone makes a thread dedicated to some act of terror it will be considered endorsement or unnecessarily insensitive for a gaming forum.

Use common sence, don't edge the rules, try to avoid posting something that might offend someone and don't try to troll people with things that are supposedly allowed because its not in the rules.

follow above and don't get banned. easy does it.
