I have a suspicion that my application for 1st Lietuenant was not given due attention. Is there a problem with it?

You should relocate the server to Seattle.
+1 or even better LA

Too far south. Perhaps Portland or San Francisco?

513
Server reallocated to Russia in order for Mathias to lag, then once he leaves we will go back to the NA server.

Need smaller text, I could read that without the source.

Alright, we've done 1v1, 3v3, 5v5, 10v10 . . . who's hosting the 25v25 in two weeks?

Official Servers Bans & Unbans / Ban requests for NA_1
« on: September 22, 2013, 12:26:33 pm »
Requests for: Finnish_Rifles_Rfl_Teo; Finnish_Rifles_Rec_V3ZKU; Haxorus; 38th[MIR]_A_Col_Chantakey; Splintert.  All for teamkilling. The first screenshot is from 02:15 PDT and the last is from 02:44 PDT.

The first incident was this skirmish, instigated by Finnish_Rifles_Rct_V3ZKU against Haxorus, I believe due to Haxorus not having a banner. By the time I got around to hitting F12, V3ZKU had begun to back off, but Haxorus ended up intercepted by Finnish_Rifles_Rfl_Teo and his bayonet. Teo's accusation of Haxorus attempting to teamkill V3ZKU was a cover.

Haxorus, in a fury, retaliated quite blatantly the next round:

Map change; I didn't get to watch all the teamkills, but I got a convenient list on one screenshot:

Finnish Rifles left, cooling everything down for a spell. When suddenly, Christen_Bale and Grubben get into a skirmish. They were chasing each other around on horses for much of the map, this is the only tk I actually saw:

Grubben's horse was cut down in spawn the next round, my screenshot was inconclusive as to who it was. Logs will show more, as always.

If there are even NASCAR fans in Singapore, they're taste in motorsport would not likely be sophisticated enough to properly enjoy F1.

So anyway, there's big motorsport this weekend. Nearly forgot about the Singapore GP.

Community / Re: Relaxed or Serious regiments? Your opinion?
« on: September 18, 2013, 02:00:05 am »
I'm going to say too lax is superior. Because "lax" is not synonymous with "trolling" any more than "strict" is synonymous with imperial Japanese military camps. The fact that both options are prefixed with "too", I think it's fair to assume that we aren't comparing a reasonably strict regiment with the Bush Pirates, because a reasonable regiment would not imply that it falls under the criteria of "too strict". So I think it's safe to assume that both choices are going to be uncomfortable and a bad fit.

In my experience, which may not reflect that of everyone else's, regiments that are too strict are simple no fun. If I wanted a perfect re-enactment of exactly how a real regiment performed, I wouldn't be working with WASD. Even then, I know sure as hell that historical regiments weren't made of ice (at least, not the ones I'm familiar with). I'm a stupid American looking to kill time that should have been spent on homework.

Regiments that are too lax are an earful. But they're easier to keep in check during a linebattle. Teamwounding at spawn is a fairly simple way to get removed quickly from the event. At the utmost extreme, they can troll the event until it is wasted. But it's one event gone. The residues? Minimal, for while people may be smouldering at the fact that the regiment messed up the event, but they will certainly be gone by the next time around. If they aren't, it's either an error of the administration or organized trolling (which is a completely different category)

The strict regiments? They're more likely to cause some tension at the event. I've been to more than one and watched certain regiments antagonize other people for not taking the event seriously. I've listened to leaders yell at their regiment for trying to talk to the community. That is hardly an environment in which to play a game. As I said, I don't care much for joining the military.

So there's my peasant opinion, not at all proofread. Take it for what you will.

I don't think a socially withdrawn engineer will help you in identifying international motorsport.

Nope, for that you'd need a normal person. And socially withdrawn???? I'm better than that at least. More like, socially interesting. Where interesting means unpredictable and generally unfavorable.

I thought "socially withdrawn" and "engineer" were synonymous . . . ?

6 Hours of Circuit of the Americas is this weekend for the WEC. Only weekend the WEC and the ALMS get to run at the same venue at the same time together.
