Information

With the 59th officially announcing their Line disbanding, and their event also disbanding. I wish to continue their legacy in a solid linebattle. They hosted a quality Monday Linebattle for a long time and the 2e_Huss and 92nd were proud attendees of every edition in 2019.

Therefore, the now named 2eHuss/92nd Monday Linebattle will be weekly on a Monday, it will be a normal Linebattle including Line, Lights & Cavalry . I hope to give a good balance between these units to ensure a good time for all regiments attending and no overwhelming amount of one unit taking the field!

Next Event: Monday 7pm GMT - Weekly

Details will be in the steam chat 15 minutes ahead of the event

« on: August 20, 2019, 02:56:22 am »

About Us

The 2nd Ohio Cavalry is a regiment being formed from the 2ème Régiment de Hussards
We plan to transfer from Napoleonic Wars (M&B) over to BCoF when it comes out under the name of the 2nd Ohio Cavalry.
We are a community that has based itself around a fun and enjoyable discord server for offline activities so that we can all enjoy all types of games together rather than just showing up for events whenever they are being called. We use teamspeak for events and all official regimental business.

History

The 2nd Ohio Cavalry was organized in Cleveland, Ohio and at Camp Dennison near Cincinnati, Ohio, from August to October 1861, and mustered in for a three years under the command of Colonel Charles Doubleday.

Men were detached from the regiment to form the 25th Ohio Battery at Fort Scott, Kansas, on August 27, 1862. The initial designation of the battery was 3rd Kansas Independent Battery (not be confused with the 3rd Independent Battery Kansas Light Artillery), but was officially changed to 25th Ohio Battery February 17, 1863. The battery was mustered in for three years service under the command of Captain Julius L. Hadley.

The regiment was attached to Doubleday's Brigade, Department of the Missouri, February to June 1862. Fort Scott, Kansas, to August 1862. Solomon's Brigade, Department of Kansas, to October 1862. 1st Brigade, 1st Division, Army of the Frontier, to December 1862. At Columbus, Ohio, to April 1863. Kautz's 1st Cavalry Brigade, District of Central Kentucky, Department of the Ohio, to June 1863. 3rd Brigade, 1st Division, XXIII Corps, Army of the Ohio, to August 1863. 3rd Brigade, 4th Division, XXIII Corps, to November 1863. 1st Brigade, 2nd Division Cavalry, XXIII Corps, to February 1864. At Columbus, Ohio, to April 1864. Cavalry, IX Corps, Army of the Potomac, to May 24, 1864. 1st Brigade, 3rd Division, Cavalry Corps, Army of the Potomac, and Middle Military Division, to May 1865. Department of the Missouri to October 1865.

The 2nd Ohio Cavalry mustered out of service October 12, 1865.

Regiments / [TRL] The Royal Legion - Brigade
« on: April 21, 2019, 06:24:26 pm »

THE ROYAL LEGION

Our Mission

The TRL Pushes for a fun environment for all of its members and those that deal with the brigade. We primarily have been set up as a community and not a serious organised construct. We do not have a brigade leader and allow all regiments to act independent. Regiment leaders keep full say over what their regiment does and which events they attend. Our brigade has been set up with the intention of creating a community that aids one-another in MnB Events with attendance or teamwork, but also a community that plays games and talks to eachother outside of Mount and Blade.

Regiments / 1te "Kaiser Franz" Regiment | International Cav & Line
« on: April 18, 2019, 09:31:57 pm »

Who are the 1te?

The Regiment is the 1st "Kaiser Franz" Husaren or 1st Emperor's own. The regiment was also known as, and probably best known as, "Kaiser Husaren" and was raised in 1756 just before the outbreak of the Seven Years war. The 1te is the 1st regiment of hussars and is also considered the most prestigious hussar regiment in the Austrian army at the time of the Napoleonic wars, having more medals (79) and earning more pay (10 gold) than any other cavalry regiments. Alas regimental history, surprsingly, is incredibly hard to find surrounding this regiment. However, we know the partook in several campaigns and battles such as Austerlitz and Leipzig. There's a bigger list under History for those interested.

The infantry side of things is very similair, except just known as "Kaiser". They fought in similair wars, and regimental history is also hard to find about them.

Who are we in NW?

We are a regiment formed from 2 line regiments and 1 cavalry regiment combining to 1, we aim to provide a fun expierence for not only the casual player but also the competetive player. We welcome new and veterans alike - we have a team of dedicated CO's and NCO's that train new people, and maybe can even learn the tough old veteran a piece!

During events we try to keep it orderly yet fun, of course this depends on the type of event - but generally speaking teamspeak isn't on Permission To Speak. After events we try to stick around on the teamspeak for a fun chat or maybe some games together - we play a large variety of games and surely you can join in on one of them!

We look forward to seeing you fight for the 1te!

A man worth twenty

Kaiser Husaren

The regiment was raised in 1756 in the Komitat (administrative county) of Neutra (Hungarian Nyitra County) by Kaiser (emperor) Franz Stephan I, at his own expense, on his estates in Holitsch (present-day Holíc in Western Slovakia). He appointed Lieutenant-Colonel Joseph Ignaz von Almásy from Festetics Hussars to organise this regiment which was initially known as Des Kaisers neuerrichtetes Hollitscher Husarenregiment and counted 6 squadrons but was soon designated as the Kaiser Husaren. On September 29, the emperor appointed Almásy colonel of the regiment who assembled at Soroksár, Debreczen, Barkán and Pressburg (present day Bratislava/SK).

1800 - Battles for Ulm, later in the Upper Palatinate, the unit had great losses in the battle at Abbach.
1805 - Retreat to the Inn and on to Hungary. Transfer to Moravia and participation in the Battle of Austerlitz and the battle near Kostel.
1809 - In the campaign in Poland the regiment belonged to the VII Corps Campaign to Russia
1812 - Three divisions of the Union were assigned to the so-called Auxiliary Corps of Prince Schwarzenberg.
1813 - The main army in Bohemia and Saxony, battles at Wüst-Olbersdorf, Reichenberg, Kratzau, Battle of Leipzig, and attack on Hochheim.

Quote

"During the Napoleonic Wars, 4 Hussars wanted to attack
40 enemy light cavalrymen. Their Oberleutenant ordered
them to fall back as they were so outnumbered.
'Eh ?' grumbled unhappy Gemeiner, 'I have never heard that
we have to count the enemy before we attack."

"Hollins "Hungarian Hussar 1756-1815"

Kaiser Fusiliers

The Elector and Archbishop of Trier Karl Joseph of Lorraine established on August 19, 1715 two Kurtrier regiments, which occurred in 1716 for 10 years under the name of "Old Lorraine" and "Young Lorraine" in imperial service. The first owners were the Lorraine hereditary Prince Leopold Clemens Karl and his next younger brother Franz Stephan of Lorraine. Franz took over the "Infantry Regiment Jung-Lorraine" only for a few years. After the sudden death of his older brother, he received as the new heir the regiment, now "Infantry Regiment Lorraine". When Franz was elected Roman Emperor in 1745, the ownership of the emperor was established, which survived the Holy Roman Empire and lasted until the end of the imperial Austria in 1918. In the early modern period, the regiment did not use different names for regimental owners as usual, but was called "Kaiser". In 1769, the name of the owner was added to the fixed serial number 1: "Infantry regiment Kaiser no. 1". Since 1860 the regiment "K.u.k. Silesian Infantry Regiment "Kaiser" No. 1 ".

In the early modern period, the soldiers of the regiment recruited from the entire empire. After taking over from Kurtrierischen services found additions from Mainz, Frankfurt am Main, Darmstadt, Mannheim, Heilbronn, Cologne, Bingen, Kreuznach, Worms, Aschaffenburg instead. From 1766, the Upper Rhine Empire Circle formed the main recruitment area. "Forbidden nationalities" were French, Italians, Swiss, Poles, Hungarians and Croats. From 1766 was a differentiated "Reichs advertising". Soldiers were from then on, especially in the Upper Rhenish imperial circle advertised. But also the estates of the Austrian hereditary territories offered substitutes. The locations changed until 1771. Thereafter, "permanent quarters" in the Austrian hereditary territories were regarded as permanent garrisons, with fixed advertising districts for the German regiments. No. 1 recruited from then on in Moravia and Austrian Silesia. In the Battle of Austerlitz, the regiment took part in the defense of the Pratzener height under Major General Franz Jircik

During the Napoleonic Wars The Infantry Regiment Kaiser No.1 fought in the Koalitionskriege.

Quote

"Then came battalion of Austrian grenadiers,
flag unfurled, with their officers on horseback
riding at their front. Their attack cleared all the streets."

"Rothenberg 1809"

We are a fresh new international cavalry regiment striving for having fun in both casual events like Linebattles and in competetive events such as 5v5. We mainly consist of new players who are still getting into the game as it is, but we also harbor few veterans who are more than eager to share their knowledge and help others improve.

We welcome any nationality regardeless of their background and the only thing we demand is decent English skills (you don't have to be native speaker, but you at least should be able to understand the simple commands during events).

The regiment tries to bring a fun environment to those who are looking for a casual place to chill and hang out. While also bringing a more competetive vibe for those interested in the more serious side of the game
We do our best to balance these 2 out to create the most enjoyable expierence for anyone playing. We try to look disciplined while allowing fun to be had in the Teamspeak
To ensure that we have a community we have a Regiment-wide Discord outside of events

Formation

The regiment was first raised by Brigadier-General Richard Cunningham as The Queen's Own Regiment of Dragoons in May 1689, by the regimenting of various independent troops, and was ranked as the 7th Dragoons and named for Queen Mary. The regiment fought at the Siege of Namur in July 1695. The Hon William Kerr became colonel in 1709 in the closing stages of the Nine Years' War. The regiment was disbanded in 1714, with its squadrons joining the 1st and 2nd Dragoons, but reformed in 1715 as The Princess of Wales's Own Regiment of Dragoons, named for Princess Caroline.

The battle of Austerlitz took place on the 2nd of December 1805, for this battle Napoléon 1er develops a trap against the Austrian force, this trap is intended to make the enemy believe that the forces of Napoleon are too weak to win the match. To do this, he uses many tricks (organize the withdrawal of his troops during clashes or skirmishes, ask to be received by the other emperors to negotiate, etc.). The enemies then think that Napoleon has only 40 000 men (instead of 73 400).
Napoléon 1er win the battle of Austerlitz with 1290 men killed, 6943 wounded against 16 000 men killed or wounded and 180 cannons lost at the camp of Austria.
This is one of the greatest victory of the Napoleonic wars for the French army.

Napoleonic Wars

In October 1808 the 7th Hussars were sent to Corunna to reinforce Sir John Moore's Army which was in retreat: the regiment supported Moore's retreat at the Battle of Sahagún on 21 December 1808 and at the Battle of Benavente on 21 December 1808. Many horses had to be destroyed for want of transport as the troops re-boarded their ships at Corunna. On the return journey the transport Dispatch, was wrecked, on Black Head, a few miles to the south of the Lizard on 22 January 1809. The regiment lost 104 men in the wrecking: only seven men from the Dispatch were saved. The regiment arrived back on the Peninsula again in August 1813 and undertook two highly successful charges at the Battle of Orthes in February 1814 leading the Marquess of Wellington to report: "The 7th Hussars distinguished themselves on this occasion and made many prisoners."

In March 1814 the regiment was ordered to proceed to Brighton and put down rioting caused by the imposition of the Corn Laws. The regiment then embarked for the Netherlands and was ordered by General Lord Uxbridge to undertake a series of charges on the advancing enemy, the French 2nd regiment of lancers under Colonel Jean Baptiste Joseph Sourd, at the action at Genappe on 17 June 1815. The following day, at the Battle of Waterloo, the regiment was held in reserve until the evening, but then again undertook a series of charges. Standish O'Grady, then a lieutenant in the 7th Hussars mentions is a letter to his father:

"We charged twelve or fourteen times, and once cut off a squadron of cuirassiers, every man of whom we killed on the spot except the two officers and one Marshal de Logis, whom I sent to the rear".

In May 1838 the regiment was deployed to Canada as part of the response to the Lower Canada Rebellion.

They are the true top of cavalry and prove that teamwork is one of the most important skills a regiment can learn, the 4e does not rely on a handful of players but has a large core of active players that ensure success is not far off. They have currently been at the top of cavalry for 3 years, and do not seem like they want to slow down any time soon. It is undeniable that the 4e has done a great amount for the competetive scene of Cavalry.

  15th The King's Hussars

Lead by Captain Archer
Reign: May 20th, 2013 - March 6th, 2015

The 15th King's Hussars were seen during their days as one of the best cavalry regiments, often swapping this honour with their rival the 7ème Régiment de Hussards. Under Archer's leadership combined with their stacked roster of skill they managed to gain an impressive Win/Loss record obtaining only a few defeats. Even today the 15th King's Hussars is still a known name in the community even after their merge to become the 4ème Régiment de Hussards. This proves that they were a dominant and loved regiment alike, even now after their merge they still remain a big part of the core 4e players and they prove time and time again that they haven't lost their edge. The 15th King's Hussars played a big role in shaping the Competetive Scene to what it is today

Competitive Record: 26 Victories - 1 Draws - 5 Defeats

  14. Pułk Kirasjerów

Lead by Pułkownik Patrykus
Reign: 2012 - 2016

14pk are seen as the most dominant heavy regiment to have dawned Napoleonic Wars, in their early years they won many tournaments alike. Even managing to grab an Infantry Tournament win along the way. Many would consider them the most feared cuirassier regiment in the game. The 14pk never had great results in tournaments like the CNWL due to their everchanging roster. In short tournaments however their dominance was undeniable and they often took a 2nd or 1st place home. Their true reign was from 2012-2014 even though they still existed past this it was a period of constant changes and confusion. If you are looking for Cuirassier Excellence, look no further.

  2. Leib-Husarenregiment

Lead by Oberst Cooper
Reign: August 8th, 2012 - June 3rd, 2016

The 2Lhr was during their time the biggest German community around, but quantity wasn't their only strength. They had plenty of skillfull players to uphold a strong roster of cavalry members that could rival the best of the League 1. For many years, even after their disbandment into the 2Lr they were seen as the best German Cavalry regiment. It was a place where many of the current top German players started, a place where they didn't just start playing the game, but also a place where they learned the game. The 2Lhr did a lot for the German Napoleonic Wars Community.

  7ème Régiment de Hussards

Lead by Colonel Bastien [2010-2011], Colonel Pierre [2011-2014], Capitaine Mat [2011-Current]
Reign: December 2010 - Current

The 7e is the oldest Napoleonic Wars regiment still around, they have proven that a strong core can hold through anything. The regiment has suffered many splits over the years, but all these splits ended up being strong League 1 cavalry regiments themselves. Showing that the 7e had great capability in breeding leaders and players alike. These splits include the 8ème Régiment de Hussards, 5ème Régiment de Hussards and the 4ème Régiment de Hussards. Over the years even with these splits the 7e has still been able to be a top contender in League 1, and at one time even being considered one of the best cavalry regiments around. The 7ème Régiment de Hussards through its seniority in the community, was and still is an irremovable part of the NW cavalry community.

  Husaren-Regiment „Graf Goetzen“ Nr. 6

Lead by Rittmeister Fidje
Reign: November 2015 - Current

The Nr.6 is currently holding the title of the Best German cavalry regiment. However they didn't just start as the competetive regiment that we know them as now. At the start of the Nr.6 they had members that weren't as well known in the community, and certainly not well known for their skill. The Nr.6 is a regiment that has shown that dedication and a strong community can get you to League 1 aswell. After all this dedication they can now finally say that they are near the top of League 1 and the best cavalry regiment in the German community. The Nr.6 is also a true group of friends, doing meetups in real life up to twice a year to which their entire roster is invited. The Nr.6 is a true powerhouse in the German community, and a competetive threat to the top of League 1.

  11ème Régiment de Hussards

Lead by Major Griff
Reign: November 2013 - June 2014 / July 2014 - November 2014

The 11ème was one of the top regiments during their existance, in their own words this was due to a great amount of teachers that would not only show the new people the ropes, but also keep the veterans on their feet. Alongside these teachers the 11ème had some amazing star players who were the leaders on the scoreboard, however the rest didn't underperform. Once again we see that a regiment with amazing teamwork can destroy anyone who opposes them. An amazing leader in Griff, alongside a team of strong players with some shining stars. Really they were destined to be one of the best, and they proved any naysayers wrong. The only suprise with this regiment is their trophy case not containing only one gold trophy. A true indomitable regiment due to teamwork and a strong community feeling.

Competitive Record: 11 Victories - 0 Draws - 0 Defeats

Competitive EU Events/Tournaments / ♞ Cavalry Pickup Parties ♞
« on: April 26, 2018, 03:19:16 pm »

Cavalry 'Pickup Parties'

Originated from Native, Pickup Parties are spontaneous fun cavalry matches with the main idea of bringing people together to have a little talk while enjoyin' fun 1v1‘s.
That‘s been working pretty well in Native throughout the time, so why can‘t we make our own ones either?

Originally brought over to the Cavalry Community by Dokletian it started off fun, and we intend to continue this by atleast trying to do one Pickup Party every month!
The Cavalry Pickup Party's wont have a leaderboard as it is intended for us all to simply share our love for Cavalry and be able to play together in teams that we usually wouldn't be able to.
It is a way to bring the Cavalry Community a bit closer.

The process of a 'Pickup Party'

1. A steam announcement is made to gather people. Join our TS from this moment on. You can of course ask some friends to take part as well.
2. Around 15 mins later, two volunteer captains are picked and they fight one duel to choose who‘s first at picking the remaining players.
3. Picking goes on until everyone is assigned to a team. After this the first round begins. From this moment onwards we will no longer allow people to join.
4. Both Teams fight the match untill there is one winner.
