Regiments (Game Clans) / Newton Knight Company

.Knight.Company. is an element of the gaming branch of an educational server that has been around since roughly September of 2022. We're somewhat of a third party when it comes to the American Civil War; we're not Confederates, having deserted from the Confederacy, but we're not liberal-livered Yankees either....we're just ordinary folks with heads not up in the clouds but down in the dirty reality.

We do not aspire to be the biggest regiment, the best at melee, the best at anything. We just want to have a good time as a group of friends. That being said, we of course welcome anyone who would like to join us, however, in order to do so, you will have to find us, in your own way and by your own efforts. We hope to see you all around as our division marches forward to victory in the three major fronts.

I should also mention that as Quartermaster, I am master of all the quarters. Despite being quite well-versed at spending them at boardwalk arcades, I maintain a substantial reserve, which I distribute generously to those in need.

Regiments / The 9th [NA]

Hello, I am Spork, and I am bringing back the 9th. However it's going to be less of the historical accuracy and traditional regiment stuff, and more of the good times stuff, depending on how big we get and what the desires of the men are.

For now, here are the principles.

PTS will be enforced. If you like saying whatever you want whenever you want during line battles, this isn't the place for you. Line battles will be relatively quiet except for the commissioned and non-commissioned officers. There will also be no typing in chat, no contributing to the landfill that is chat during events, with the exception of occasional simple greetings to a friend you see from another regiment.

There will be no racial slurs or overt hate speech in our TS channels at any time, unless it's a only a very small joke and you announce beforehand that it's going to be bad, so that hopefully nobody will be offended. When people get offended, people leave, and that's not what we want. The same goes for being incredibly annoying with soundboards and music, unless done within reason and in appropriate places and times.

There will be no headbanging, no dancing, no teabagging, no teamkilling when events are not live, unless ordered to do so.

Everybody will get a chance to lead in this regiment. This does not mean that everybody will become an officer, but at each event I will give someone who is not an officer, preferably someone who has never led before, the chance to lead at least one round. If we expand to multiple companies, that means multiple new guys will get to lead for a round.

Why? I feel that anyone who creates a regiment, gets a bunch of guys to join him and then always personally leads everything, well, I don't believe he thinks too highly of his men, perhaps even thinks of himself of being better than them, when the reality is that we're all just a bunch of nerds sitting at our computers playing video games. Who cares if you're the greatest leader of all time, it's a video game, you're not making any money from this, you're not going to be famous beyond this online community, this game isn't even slightly relevant to modern military practices. We are here to have a fun time.

At the moment the rank structure will be simplified as such:
QM - Quartermaster - Me
Sjt - Serjeants - Line leaders
Cpl - Corporals - Next in charge after the serjeants
Pte - Privates - Those dangly bits that require a balance between keeping them safe and putting them into dangerous places where they can be of use
Rct - Recruits - New guys who might get kicked out if they don't behave

To join, add me on Steam, 9th_QM_Spork, or if I have changed my username, https://steamcommunity.com/id/ThrowingSpork/.

For anything not mentioned here, like our event schedule, TS, server info, or roster, ask me.

Going to be using just 9th_ for the tags, if that bothers anyone please contact me and we can find a solution.

I suppose I should make a new thread as it's going to be a little different this time around.

I haven't talked to Apollo but I might. I have the feeling he's probably busy with other things nowadays.

Wow, I thought this was supposed to be locked. Anyway....

Guess what!

Just like the 29th, the 9th is back as well!

I was in the reformed 29th for a few days but my eyes were starting to twitch over a couple of pet peeves, so rather than be civil and have a discussion about it, I decided to leave and bring back the good old days because meow.

Yay, party time and such. If you want to join, add 9th_QM_Spork on Steam.

It is the ferocity of The Fighting Ninth (anime-watching ex-niners like Oodward included) that keeps my boaty afloaty.

You dropped your pocket, Munch.

The plan, my dear Pickle, is to find Munch-kun's pocket before he does.

I have a plan.

I remember when the 9th brought like 40 guys per lb

Then the officers began to bicker selfishly over ranks and companies

GG much regiment much unity

Yeah, pretty much. It seems the selfish ones tend to weed themselves out. We'll get back up there though, one way or another.

But yeah, no more NWL for us.
