45th Regiment of Foot

The 45th Regiment of Foot was a British Army line infantry regiment. Established in 1741, by 1745 the regiment was in Gibraltar and under the command of a Colonel Warburton, while two years later it was serving in Nova Scotia during Father Le Loutre’s War, the 45th being called out on active service. The regiment participated in the Siege of Louisbourg (1758) and the Battle of the Plains of Abraham. The 45th Regiment served for twenty years in Canada. The regiment also participated in the American Revolution, the Peninsular War, Burmese War, and the Kaffir War. During the Childers Reforms it was united with the 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment of Foot to form The Sherwood Foresters (Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire Regiment).

The 45th Regiment was raised in 1741 as Houghton's Regiment, for service during the War of the Austrian Succession and Warburton's Regiment during Father Le Loutre's War and the French and Indian War. It was first posted to Gibraltar in 1745, before moving to Nova Scotia in 1747 for garrison duty. The regiment fought in the Raid on Dartmouth (1751) and the Siege of Louisbourg (1758), which became the regiments first battle honour.
From 1774 the regiment was in action in North America during the American War of Independence, fighting in the battles of Long Island, Philadelphia, Brandywine Creek and Germantown. In 1783 they returned home to Nottingham, where the citizens petitioned for the regiment to be named "the Nottinghamshire regiment". This was granted the same year, becoming the 45th (1st Nottinghamshire) Regiment.

The regiment returned to the Americas in 1786, spending the next 16 years, with one break, in the West Indies. During this time they saw action against the French as part of the French Revolutionary Wars, at Martinique, Dominica and Les Saintes.

After an expedition to South America in 1807, fighting at Buenos Aires, the 45th returned to Britain, to take part in Wellington's Peninsular campaign. In this they fought in every major action, winning the nickname "Old Stubborns" at Talavera, and being commended at Busaco and Badajoz.

Following the end of the Napoleonic Wars the Nottinghamshires served in a series of colonial campaigns. In 1819 they were in Ceylon, and in 1824 in the First Burma War. In 1843 they were in South Africa for the First Kaffir War, and in 1851 for the Second. In 1867, now called the 45th Nottinghamshire Regiment (Sherwood Foresters), they took PART in the Abyssinian campaign.

In 1881, as part of the Childers Reforms, the 45th was amalgamated with the 95th (Derbyshire) Regiment to form the Sherwood Foresters.

96e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne

History

Spoiler
Creation and various denominations

The 96e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne is unique, like all infantry regiments bearing a number between 76 th and 99 th , to be the heir to the traditions of two regiments: the 96 th and 21 th Light Infantry.

In fact, the 1 st November 1745, Prince William of Nassau-Saarbrücken, owner of a cavalry regiment, raised the regiment which was initially named "Nassau-Saarbrücken and received a patent for his son, for the command of the regiment February 4, 1746.

An order of 1 st January 1791 decided that the regiments that had names would then be designated by a number. This is the birth of the first 96e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne . After various names (demi-brigade, regiment), the 96 th regiment was disbanded in September 1815.

The 21 th Regiment Light (battalion demi-brigade and regiment) was established August 21, 1792 and dissolved in 1814.

September 6, 1815, was created foreign royal legion, legion of Fame in 1816 Hohenlohe and regiment of Hohenlohe .

On 5 January 1831, the foreign regiment of Hohenlohe was dissolved and replaced by the 21 th Light Infantry regiment.

In 1855, the 21 th took the name of the 96e Regiment d'Infanterie de Ligne.

Regiments / 37th Royal Battalion [NA]

37th Royal Battalion

The 37th Royal Battalion At the siege of Cuidad Rodrigo, in 1812 Gen. Picton
gave this particular address to the 37th Royal Battalion,
"It is not my intention to expend any powder
this evening. We'll do this business with the
 cold iron."

The French were surprised by the rigid class lines that divided
the British soldiers from their officers. There is a record
of Wellington coming upon aristocratic officers
making their men carry them over a river.
The Duke ordered the soldiers to drop them on the yspot.

A line infantry battalion was commanded by its regimental Colonel (Col) or a Lieutenant Colonel (LtCol), and was composed of ten companies, of which eight were "centre" companies, and two were "flank" companies: one a grenadier and one a specialist light company. Companies were commanded by captains, with lieutenants and ensigns (or subalterns) beneath him. Ideally, a battalion consisted of 1000 men (excluding NCOs, musicians and officers), but active service depleted the numbers. Generally, the 1st (or senior) battalion of a regiment would draw fit recruits from the 2nd battalion to maintain its strength. If also sent on active service, the 2nd battalion would consequently be weaker. The 37th Royal Battalion, is a regiment that mainly acts as a line infantry; but also at times when need to be Cavalry, Artillery, and even Skirmishers.

Rules

Spoiler
1) Be respectful - This does not just include to your NCO's Officers or fellow enlisted. This rule is set in place throughout the community in an event and out in the public eye.

2) Be Mature - Be mature while in events!! Know and understand when to stop talking. When out of events don't throw a fit just because things don't go your way. Have fun but act appropriately.

3) Follow PTS - Follow the order of PTS when it is put into effect by an officer! When you request a PTS wait for an officer's approval before you say your question or statement.

4) Don't Cause Problems - Don't cause problems with anyone in the regiment. If you have a problem with a fellow enlisted member talk to an NCO. If you have a problem with an NCO talk to an officer. NCO's and Officers are here to help you and improve your overall quality of the gaming experience.

5) DO NOT TROLL - We all understand having fun and relaxing, but do not troll under any excuse during events. This includes TK'ing TW'ing and even talking crap to an admin. When outside of events have fun but in plain and simple terms- Don't be a dick, have fun but not piss people off while doing it.Trolling ruins the experience and fun of any event for members and the community. So please just don't do it.

6) NO DOUBLE REGIMENTING PERIOD! We do not allow it and neither do any other regiment out there. It creates a conflict of interest and will not be tolorated. You may join an EU reg if you wish, but no other NA regiment.

How To Get Promoted
You get promoted by not only being mature and following orders. You have to be loyal to the regiment, not by just staying in the regiment but by being more involved in activities but as well as recruiting. To be promoted you must be the best of the best! When you are promoted take it as an honor, we only promote if we see fit.

The 37th Royal Battalion was a line infantry regiment of the British Army throughout much of the 18th and 19th centuries. The regiment first saw active service during the American War of Independence, and were posted to India during the Anglo-Mysore Wars. During the Napoleonic Wars, the 37th Royal Battalion were part of the Line Infantry Division, and were present at most of the major battles of the Peninsula campaign, becoming one of the most celebrated regiments, described by Sir William Napier as "a regiment never surpassed in arms since arms were first borne by men".
