Events: NA / NA Event/Tournament Child-Board Request

With the creation of the new sub-board, the moderation team/CRs have discussed and determined that you can now submit applications for your respective areas' event.  Here's the criteria (please ensure you meet the criteria prior to submission), and the application form.  The moderation team will process these request(s) and respond to the organizer(s) of the event.  Please submit follow-ups to the respective Community Representative.

Criteria

1) Recurrence:  The activity in the child board needs to be more than a once-per-year activity.  This means that as long as people are talking about previous, current, or future seasons, you meet the criteria.
2) Quality/Moderation: The competitive event needs to show they've ran well over a sustained period of time (minimum of two instances - seasons, iterations) with good management (both in quality of character as well as consistency of event).  We need to be able to trust that the organizers will help bring life into the community.
3) Transparency:  The competitive event needs to be open for the public - as long as a regiment/group can follow the rules, they are welcome to participate in said event.
4) Numbers:  The competitive event needs to be active and applicable to a vast majority of the community.

**As a reminder, please bear in mind that if/when one of these criteria changes, please bear in mind that consequences (leading and up to) removal of the board can take place.  While these are criteria, bear in mind that moderation will take these up on a case-by-case basis.  Moderation also reserves their right to modify the application process at any time.**

Application
Code
- [b]Organizer(s) Name(s)[/b]:
- [b]Organizer(s) Steam Information[/b]:
- [b]Event's Steam Group Information (if applicable)[/b]:
- [b]Event Name[/b]:
- [b]Previous Event Thread(s) (if applicable)[/b]:
- [b]History/Background[/b] (looking for a short 4-5 sentence summary of the history/creation of the event and why it would be worthwhile adding a child-board for this event):
- [b]Board description[/b] if applicable, what would you like your board description to be?
- Has your event started and completed at least twice?  How often are you planning on hosting this event?

- What is the average attendance for this event?  (You can either give regiment numbers, people in attendance - this can be a round number):
-  Are there any criteria(s) for entering in this event?  Yes/No; [b]if yes, list them in order for us to verify they are in line with the rules[/b].

- Who else will require board moderator permissions?  Please list their name, a link to the forums, and a Steam link as well (if applicable).

- You and the other administrators will receive board moderation permissions, in order to manage the event well.  Will you agree to use your power(s) wisely, and commit to making decisions that benefit [b]everyone[/b] involved?

[i][b]If there are any abuse(s) of power, the moderation team reserves the right to punish those that have board moderator privileges, up to and including removal of your child board and closing of the topic.[/b][/i]

Competitive NA Events/Tournaments / NA Competitive Events/Tournaments Board
« on: February 25, 2018, 07:34:01 pm »
Hello all!

We have created a new sub-board for the competitive tournaments under the Events board in order for you to more easily navigate the forum and find the kind of event you are looking for. All competitive tournaments and events will be located in this new sub-board, and the regular events will remain in the same area that they were in before.

In order to further help the organizers of larger tournaments, we also support and encourage the creation of sub-boards for larger tournaments. If you are the host of a tournament/event and wish to apply to have your own sub-board created, you can head over here and submit an application to have your own sub-board created, should you meet all the criteria required.

Best regards,
The FSE Moderation Team

Just wanted to pop over and quickly share a couple recent updates:

- We've experimented with the new updates to the forum, and have determined that we can lift the 100 page cap.  That being said, please bear in mind the forum rules, and moderation reserves the right to close down topics as needed, when applicable.  A note will be sent to the thread's owner and they can reach out to obtain the OP, if needed/desired.

- We're still fleshing out odds and ends, but are tentatively planning some board changes to the Events area, and are working things out for event organizers to obtain child boards for their events.  Part of this change will be an application process and internal discussion to go with the child board.  We're going to only be doing those events that arerecurring, are popular in the community, and have had a reasonably long tenure.  We'll keep you updated on it, but expect that to be somewhere in the "Community" area of the NW part of the forums (with a poll to boot!).

- We've also cleared the banlist of individuals previously banned earlier than 2018.  Take this as our way of saying if you're up for coming back, feel free to do so!  As always, the moderation team asks for your part in making this forum an enjoyable place, while adhering to the rules.  For those that consistently break the rules, we will continue to ban on a case-by-case basis.

Thanks for reading!

Forum & Website / Forum Moderation Team Updates
« on: February 16, 2018, 03:33:55 pm »
Hello everyone!

As some of you have heard/seen, there have been some changes to the moderating team.  Below and here are the changes:

Shadow - Head Moderator
Thunderstormer - FSE Developer/Sr. Moderator
Noorwegian - introduced as Jr. Moderator
Xethos - introduced as Jr. Moderator

MrTiki also retains his role as Sr. Moderator.  There will also be an addition of board moderators that will help manage, promote, and maintain their respective language boards.  The link above also describes the roles the board moderators play in maintaining the forum.

Much will remain status quo, but over the foreseeable future we're going to be taking a look at some of the administrative items, reviewing, and recommending changes as appropriate.

As always, please feel free to reach out to one of the moderators and we will address any comments/questions/concerns you have.
