Events: EU / 92nd Tuesday Linebattle-Looking For Cav and Lines!
« on: June 24, 2021, 11:42:29 pm »

    1. No FiC & RiC - When melee contact has been initiated all units are expected to cease their fire and cancel their reloading. Melee contact has been made when atleast one person has touched his/her opponent. Officers are allowed to fire 1 pistol cartridge in charge but are not allowed to reload in charge (this does not count for all charge!).
    2. No FoL & RoL - All units must reload and fire in formation. When lined up or positioned and taking casualties you may finish reloading and then fix the gap.
    3. No Rambo - Everybody participating in the event is expected to stay with their unit at all times. Officers & NCO's are allowed to be a small distance away from their line when scouting or glancing upon the battlefield. When a unit is 3 or less they are expected to join a friendly unit.
    4. No OA - Officer aim is forbidden for any unit (including skirmishers). In the event that an Officer does get shot, let the admin know with either a message on the steam event chat or in game. Officer aim does not count for the rank but for the unit in order to be revived, the player must have died while playing as the officer class.
Officer aim is permitted when the officer is in melee combat, standing in a formation (in the middle of a line or collumn), gets killed by cannon or other artillery pieces or when holding a musket or rifle! Intentional OA will be punished with a warning or a slay.
    5. All Charge - The all charge will be called by the admin to ensure that rounds are not dragged out for too long. The all charge will be announced by the admin atleast 30 seconds in advance. All units are expected to cease their fire and meet eachother bayonet and sword in hand. Cavalry must dismount in the all charge at all times, they are however allowed to ride towards their enemy but must dismount before taking part in melee combat.

    6. Tags - Every participant of the event must wear their respective regiment tag or they will be removed from the server by the admin.
    7. Behaviour and chat discipline - During the event all participants are expected to show respect and good behaviour to one another, whether they are an enemy or an ally! Racism, sexism and anything of the sort are not allowed! Teamkills can happen please do not retaliate and start a flame war!
    8. The admin will always have the final word - All officers and NCO's are expected to keep their unit in order and enforce the rules where necessary. In the event that the admin does have to enforce the rules, may this be a warning, a slay or a ban, do not argue with him/her! you can file your complaints on teamspeak or steam after the event, during the event the admin always has the final say in things!
    9. Attendance - When a regiment has a specialist slot reserved and fails to bring the man power for a few events in a row, they will be put as line and the specialist spot will be given to someone else.
    10. Assaulting and garrisoning buildings - When occupying a building or compound the following rules apply: "all units may fire in charge, all units may reload in charge, all units may take cover and crouch, the unit may break formation within the building".
When assaulting a occupied building or compound the following rules apply: "all units may fire in charge but only upon the unit that is occupying the building, all units may reload in charge, unit may break formation inside the building".
Depending on the event and map, the admin can ban the use of buildings & compounds, the admin may also request an unit to leave a building or compound.

      It's Finally Here!

With only one week to go before it all kicks off I'm using this thread for a discussion and to see what everyone's thoughts, opinions and hopes are for this year!

Exciting year for me as it is the first time in my life Scotland's qualified for a major tournament. Last time in was 98, I was born in 99 8)

So just to start a general discussion:

Which team do you want to win?
Which team do you think will win?
What match are you looking forward to most?

Personally, I want Scotland to win and speaking to people around me and having a look online, there is a circle of fans who think it's possible. We've played well but I think we're getting over excited thinking we'll win it but you never know. I think France will go on and win the tournament but I don't think it will be an easy ride for them, some strong looking teams this year but I think they'll come up top. England-Scotland is always a good match and we've played consistent up to now and I do believe we'd beat England X)

Groups are below if you've not seen them or just want a refresher:

Welcome to the official post for this CR Term. Firstly, I just wanna say a massive thank you to all those who voted in the election. 113 registered voters took part in this year's election and that is a really huge amount. I am proud and honoured to be in this position and hope to do my part to make this community a great place for all!

As my manifesto said, I will mainly be focussing on providing servers for all areas of the community including public servers, so please get in touch if you're looking for a server! If anyone has an idea for an event but doesn't know how to host or is stuck, please feel free to contact me and I would be more than willing to provide any assistance or advice. CR does involve some moderation responsibilities so I will be undertaking those responsibilities as well.

A CR should be approachable and as such, I will be leaving the best ways to contact me below so please feel free to contact me using any of these methods:

      Steam: Me
      FSE: Me

Lastly, I will just like to express a thank you to all candidates who ran in this election. This was a fierce but nice campaign that didn't devolve into toxicity. Anyone who ran would have made a fabulous CR and I would encourage them to run again! :)

I started hosting 92nd servers of a server box in Germany and then branched out to offering servers to projects and tournaments in the community. Its a side project that I've been running for a few months now and its just a little something that I can do to help give back to the community. There is no cost to any servers provided by myself as this is a side project.

      FAQ
      Q/ Why?
A/ I believe that if you can help someone, you should so if I am able to help some people by giving a server or 2 to them for free, then I should do that. Plus, the monthly bill is the same whether I host one server or one thousand. It doesn't affect me in anyway to host more and its the right thing to do.

Q/Why not charge for the service?
A/ This is a side project for me and its not something that I'm looking to do on a full time basis or make a career. Plus it is just me and as active as I try to be, I cannot provide the support that a company can so theoretically if you encountered any issues whilst I was out working, there would be no support until I am back which could be hours after the issue.

Q/ I've had a server from you for a while and never had any issues, can I pay you as a thank you?
A/ No. However if you do feel like you want to part with a little cash, find a local charity or an issue that is important to you and donate to them. Everyone wins that way :)

Q/ Do you do the work on my server?
A/ No. Once the server is created I will send you the link to the panel which will have all your services listed and allow you to edit the server as you please, such as adding maps, changing module or uploading scripts. Only you and whoever you give access to the panel to, will be able to edit it.

Q/ What can I get a server for?
      A/ Absolutely anything.

Q/ What locations do you offer?
      A/ France only.

Q/ How can I contact you for anything?
A/I have various methods of contact. I'll respond to enquires via them all at the same speed.

Off Topic / What's your most prized possession?
      « on: June 06, 2020, 04:40:18 am »
Simple question, only 5 words long but can be a real conversation starter. It can be based on it's monetary value, sentimental value, time looking for it or anything. Is there a story attached to it that explains why it is so prized? Pictures are of course welcome but not required. This is not a thread about flexing or trying to outdo each other. Its a simple question that can be a real conversation starter and lets people in the community know things about each other that may not have necessarily come up in previous discussions. For this, pets are excluded. This is because I do not regard them as possessions more as companions. My guinea pigs are well loved but they are not possessions  :)

It's only fair that I go first. I'll cheat a little and post two items that I hold very close to my heart due to different reasons.

2018 my grandfather unfortunately passed away due to cancer. Obviously tough on everyone in the family. Before he passed he gave me a £50 note. This is just a standard £50 note and was just to cover expenses that I paid for whilst he was in hospital (beer, groceries for my gran etc). At first I tried to refuse because he was in the hospital however he was quite stubborn and wouldn't accept it back. I'm grateful for this because this was the last piece of money that he ever handled. Its something that was just a little part of him and to me its like a part of him remains. I find myself in a lucky situation where I am in a position where I do not need to spend that money. It is highly unlikely that I will ever spend it.

Now this is the cringe part. It is a 1-1 replica of Obi-wan Kenobi's hilt from Revenge of The Sith. There was just something about his lightsabre that I just loved. Maybe it was his character and the fact that he himself was Scottish which to me was a HUGE thing. There was just something about it that drew me towards him. I hunted high and low, all across different sites and marketplace groups, missing out on auctions when I found one that was in mint condition, was at a great price and was in the UK which halved the shipping price. Luckily I was on a day off from work when it arrived, took like 20 minutes to get it out of the box it came in. Shipping peanuts went everywhere, recycling bin was full of cardboard, the kitchen was a mess but I was over the moon. Unless I really needed to, this is something I would never be able to part with. Image of the item (and my kitchen) below.
