Alright, fair do's. I'm not here to tell you how to run your regiment - just pointing it out.

Good luck.

Might work... however that could end up 'sealing the deal', right? Leaving nothing - apart from what's already been said about whether Tavington did anything wrong or not - to use as ammunition for his unban appeals. I doubt the administrators will let him back anyway, so it is a good idea nonetheless.

Edit: Off topic here but what's everyone's opinions on "The Prussian Army" and "The British Army" groups, name-wise? Should they be allowed to do this (as these armies are above regular armies, e.g. 'The First Army of, etc')? - Something I posted back on Taleworlds yet I haven't received a response.

Loving the thread and I'm sure you'll be a great boost for NW.

Just a few things - questions I suppose.
-Wasn't the Captain-Lieutenant rank abolished / in the process of being removed from the 1720s onwards?
-Aren't buglers exclusive for the light infantry and skirmishers (and thus futile as a role in your additional duties)?
-Off the top of my head, I could have sworn that sappers were named Pioneers, headed by a Pioneer Corporal (as opposed to "Sappers"), right?

Simply wondering - Hope you do well though.

You misunderstand once again though Flash. Let's say the 3rd King's German Legion Hussars are created. They are, by their origins, affiliated with the King's German Legion itself - hence why, unless all regiments can be filled, it shouldn't be lead by anyone. It's the same here but on a larger scale.
Its a game... If you make a regiment and aren't in any of the following groups(  brigade or Division, Army)  you are not in one... You don't make a regiment and automatically be in this *Army* you are a independent regiment associated only with you're self.

So you can't make historical-based regiments? So if I made those Hussars, I wouldn't be associated with the United Kingdom faction or anything else? Hm. Okay, well that clears quite a few things up.

You're welcome for all the 'bumps' by the way Flash ^^

If I start a regiment, I don't want to be affiliated with Flash apart from the fact that we're serving in the "real" British Army. It's ridiculous, to create a unit called 'The British Army' - I have no idea how the 51st got away with it.

You mean logical perspective, however no-one really cares - thus, they don't consider it valid.

@CHARLES111MAC - Because everyone thought the 51st was 'all that'. That's probably why. Otherwise, I don't know.

@Saga_The_King - I don't know what you missed there but your post doesn't make too much sense in going against what I said. The British Army - who 'owns' this thread - technically envelopes every single army under the United Kingdom faction, because it has named itself the collective army of the British forces. Everyone who starts a regiment should be by default - according to your army name - part of this organization. If someone formed another brigade as well, the name of this would also suggest that they'd be under the command of the higher ups in this group. The name conflicts. There's no getting around that because it's staring me in the face. It should be numbered or lettered, and shouldn't be so vague and sweeping in its name.

Edit:
I start a regiment. This regiment uses the United Kingdom faction because it serves under the British Army.
Note: The British Army is the land warfare branch of the British Armed Forces of the United Kingdom. It came into being with the unification of the Kingdom of England and Scotland into the Kingdom of Great Britain in 1707. The new British Army incorporated Regiments that had already existed in England and Scotland and was administered by the War Office from London.

Conflict No. 1: This group is called The British Army but I don't want to be managed by / associated with it. Unfortunately for me, I technically have to be by default as I can't serve under this faction name otherwise.

Conflict No. 2: As a group called The British Army has been formed, I cannot create my own regiment because I cannot take another unit's name. For example, if someone reserved the whole of the King's German Legion, they would prevent anyone from taking any affiliated regiments, etc of / under that legion. On a smaller scale, imagine this - I form a regiment, and someone forms the 2nd Battalion of that regiment outside of my unit, calling it their own. That's basically what reserving the British Army does, yet in greater proportions.

Conflict No. 3: I cannot form my own (solely headed by myself) army because The British Army envelopes me and would outrank me in military unit structure and thus, in staff rank structure. If only it were just 'an army' of The British Army (the one associated with the faction, which shouldn't be lead by anyone).

Exactly - "just don't have to be armies." That's where it conflicts with the rest of the gaming community, and that's why I see it as requiring change. As I said though, I can't force anyone and despite this, it isn't that big a deal anyway. But you know... #Imacunt2

Just something I posted on the British Army's thread:
If this is still active, you should rename it - perhaps the 'First Army' would be suitable. The reason? If I start a regiment, I wouldn't allow it if someone started a company with a regimental affiliation of my own regiment. The same goes vise versa for if I started a regiment, and someone made a brigade that by default involved me - Why would I want to be under their command by default? Make a made up army, that doesn't envelope every single regiment there ever was under 'The British Army'. Make it "Flash's Army of Great Britain and ...", etc or "The First Army of Great Britain", would be a appropriate. That may, people may make their own armies as well, without any conflicts - e.g. "The Second Army of Great Britain".

I can't exactly force you to change but I'm just saying.

The King's German Legion's
5th Line Battalion
and
1st Dragoons

What about that? Makes a distinction that you're not reserving all the other battalion regiments, and so on, that are linked to the King's German Legion. "We are the 5th Line Battalion and 1st Dragoons of the King's German Legion" - as opposed to "We are the King's German Legion". I mean, if I were to make a regiment, I wouldn't want to force myself under your command now would I? I don't even know who you are! It suggests you'd be incorporating me into some form of army (or Legion) by default, and I wouldn't want that. So yeah, that was my heads up - you should change it. Can't force you to, but you should. Good luck anyhow.

But a Legion itself is a military unit - just because the KGL consisted of battalions and the next structural title above that is 'regiment', doesn't mean that the King's German Legion is one. It is a Legion. For example, the "Auxiliary Legion" (also known as the British Legion) in Spain consisted of many different regiments. Also, many of the KGL Battalions probably had regimental affiliations anyhow, and thus should be listed as single 'Battalion Regiments' (as most are generally detached from their linked regiment).

In that case, you should form a different blasted regiment! Not envelope the name of an entire Legion to suit your needs... but that's a different topic. I despise these cavalry 'detachments', so at least you've tried to work around it, despite doing so poorly.

You are the whole of the King's German Legion? You have reserved around seventeen different groups or units of troops? On a regimental scale for each?
Might as well reserve an army.
