I only hope it's not going to be like War Of The Roses and Medieval Warfare.
I really like medieval games, but they feel like some kind of call of duty with with a medieval theme it doesn't give the right feeling what mount and blade did when I played it the first time.

I'm hoping for a big improvement for singleplayer. better AI is a must have; for multiplayer, well if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Better AI would be great. Like if you want your AI to retreat they actually turn around and start running and not just walking backwards.

They should really add the decapitation and loses of limbs in bannerlord when you kill someone. It was really epic in medieval warfare.

Sounds cool, but please this counts for a lot people stay realistic! Creating a game is making chooses do you want nice graphics you must return in other feathers like Multiplayer player numbers and gameplay in itself or do you want a high player count then you have to return in models and texture resolutions this is because people got different kind of computer performance where the other guy got a intel core i7 with the latest geforce can handle more things then somebody with a i2 and a middle version graphic card, feathers like  decapitation ask for more performance so make your choose what do you want 200 man battles without decapitation and lose limbs or battles with maybe 80 man but with it? The same thing is with Battle Cry of Freedom.

Do we have any idea/and or speculations as to what the specs required to passably run                M&B: Bannerlord would be?

And am hoping for co-op campaign though I imagine that would be somewhat difficult to implement with various players all controlling different factions all moving simultaneously.

Here's another question: do we have any specifics on the setting of Bannerlord, besides... y'know... Calradia and all that shtuff. What will the time be like? What year/s is it set in? Factions? What makes this any different from M&B:W?

Personally, I was disappointed with the personal kingdom options of Native.  I wish they not only expanded politically, but economically.  The current economy system doesn't really show it's true potential.

Well it seems like a pain in the ass to make such a thing work.
But the singleplayer is fine maybe a better trading/economy system.

But I want to see an improved multiplayer because that will be the thing i'll play the most

One major thing they will have to put in SP, is responsive enemy generals. Using different tactics and stuff.

The side quests were a bore in Warband, but they were usually unimportant and you could ignore them and do whatever you wanted. I do hope they add better quests, but I would like it more if they just made it so those events merged with the actual gameplay more seamlessly. Some of the things could have easily been made more fluid and dynamic.

Yeah, and in singleplayer if your character has lower or higher strength, he swings them still differently. I think it's pretty well done, but I suppose there are always ways to improve.

What Im looking/hoping for in MBII.

1. A larger, more diverse world. (More factions please :D)
2. A word that is "more alive", special events, more things moving around the map etc.
3. A better AI, PLEASE!
4. A major major major upgrade in terms of graphics.

I love singleplayer. I spend more time on singleplayer on most games than on multiplayer. In singleplayer, you can be a hero, a bandit or even a rich merchant.. Whatever you want. In multiplayer you just kill people.

Floris if you want a far better version of the native singleplayer campaign. 1257 AD if you want a fantastic mod set in medieval Europe. Prophesy of Pendor if you want a great fantasy mod with a well written story and good characters/factions/events. Brytenwalda is also a really good mod set in the British Isles during the viking age.

Those are all some of my favorite singleplayer ones, I'm sure there are others that I missed.

Brytenwalda was not set during the viking age... It was set during the early Dark Ages, before Alfred the Great took control of first united England... The Vikings were only getting started at these times, im talking around 450 A.D that Brytenwalda was aimed at, only 40 years after the Romans left. The Vikings never really started coming to Europe until when Alfred the Great was around in the mid ninth century.

anyway, back on topic, if you want one set during feudal Japan, then Gekokujo is the way to go :)

Floris and PoP are incredible. If Warband never existed they would have just been as popular as Native.

Prophesy of Pendor is hard as hell though. If you haven't played Native SP I would try out Floris first.

I played a whole year on SP before NW came out. Never even really tried Warband MP until the last two weeks of MM.

I'd suggest 'Prophesy of Pendor' or 'A Clash of Kings', a mod based on the works of George R.R. Martin. It's good fun and kept me entertained; I'm currently a Northern Sergeant in Robb Stark's party.

note for clash of kings. Don't play it if you want to avoid spoilers. Around the 400 days mark there's an event that spoils some stuff from the fifth book if i'm not correct

Floris? More like Bore-is. Best mod is without a doubt and without competition http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,314.0.html Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia. Anyone who says otherwise is a heretic and should be executed for glorious Light & Darkness: Heroes of Calradia.

That's the Chinese showing through. Still, it's fucking badass what they did with Warband. Made it scripted, has cutscenes, in battle dialogue, actual story, fantasy world, magic, so much other cool shit. The only area it's lacking in is translation, it's still pretty rough on the English side, good enough to know whats going on, but not anything to commemorate.

Brytenwalda (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,189.0.html) is my favorite game that I've ever played.

Prophecy of Pendor (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,119.0.html) is great, and has a really interesting and sad backstory.

Floris (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,197.0.html) is good for when you want all sorts of features, but don't want to leave Calradia.

Light and Darkness (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,314.0.html) is some cool beans. Can't wait for part two.

Rigale (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,209.0.html) was one of my favorites, but it's long dead by now.

Vikingr (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,202.0.html) and Deluge (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,274.0.html) are probably the best multiplayer mods.  Persistent World (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,184.0.html) is a great time killer and a good way to chill out after a long day.

If you have the original Mount and Blade you really need to get The Last Days of the Third Age, (http://mbx.streetofeyes.com/index.php/board,20.0.html) 1866: A Mount and Blade Western (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,150.0.html), Sword of Damocles (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,117.0.html),  and The Wedding Dance (http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,58995.0.html) (This one has some very mature content, though.) Star Wars Conquest (http://www.moddb.com/mods/swconquest) would also be fun if you're super into Star Wars, I imagine.

Blood and Steel is a good SP mod (Turns the game into a Calradia with demons wandering around, also completely reworks the factions: http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,185.0.html

The Red Wars is a great one also (Brings Calradia into the years before World War II, with Communism and Fascism clashing):
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,366.0.html

But here's some mods to keep an eye out for once they're released:

Nova Aetas (Late Renessance game, think same time period as AC: Brotherhood(This mod has a metric shitton of features, it's insane)): http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,281485.0.html

Calradia Imperial Age (Mod which converts Calradia into the Napoleonic Era, adds some new nations too)
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,307638.0.html

L'Aigle (Most hyped Warband mod in existance, been in production for years and has had many delays. Still, converts the entire era to 1809 Europe and a good place to grab some eye candy):
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,195571.0.html

The Reckoning (Post-apoctalyptic zombie mod. The modder working on this is a coding master, he's added working jeeps, helicopters and a cover system for AI):
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,271193.0.html

Sayazn (Low fantasy (No not magic, just in a world that isn't Calradia or the real world) gunpower mod, very very pain-stakenly done with all the features a line general would want. Also a unique and interesting lore):
http://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/topic,291695.0.html

Crusader-Way to Expiation (Mod that takes you into the 4th Crusade, much detail and work put into it. Been in production for years now but they intend to release Multiplayer this yeah):

On a serious note, I  honestly think that this game is gonna fucking rek face when it comes out

DX11 Graphics
plus +A really powerful map editor which offers so many paramters to set for absolutely everything
+Huge maps
+The great melee system which we know and love
+Hundreds of ppl in multiplayer (hopefully without the lag this time)
+A renewed campaign in Calradia after the death of  the Old King, with RPG stats etc etc (I spent 250 hours on the old one in Native to conquer the whole kingdom - worth every second)
+MODDABILITY

=All time classic. Can't wait 'til it's released.

Just look when he is showing the editor.. the tree placement for example. The Trees are waving there..

But it depends on the wind level anyway. When you get a higher wind setting for the map, the Trees are more waving! :)

ah I see now. I was confused because when he turned up the rotation speed of the windmill the trees were not affected. I guess they are separate variables.

I play on DX7 because thats how I used to play on warband for like 4 years. I upgrade my computer like 3 years ago and couldnt change. I prefer the game to look like shit because it is how I am used to it and there is less to get in the way of gameplay.

TL;DR I could play on DX7 but gameplay, less lag in 200 player battles>graphics.

I wish to continue the sudden trend of people reporting how shit their PC is, by saying that my 2002 IBM workstation has only 256MB of RAM, an 750MHz processor and a 12" CRT monitor, harnessed to a whopping 25 GB HDD. It can run Warband on High Settings at DX5 at a steady 30fps

Yeah it's really good. Hope they remove the ground tessellation though.

Why would you want them to remove ground tessellation?

Because it looks bad and there are better ways to deal with performance issues.

More realistic ground looks worse than flat terrain with a texture laid over top of it?

I wouldn't say the majority plays on low settings, but it's certainly a high enough percentage of the player base that it's a factor worth taking into consideration.
Ofc, just saying that our PCs, on average, can only handle DX7, is kinda, well, overexaggerating. But then, who am I to dispute the words of the Great Hinkel, Modder, and pillar of this community? :P

I don't think Hinkel was saying that the average player can only run on DX7. They just happen to do it out of habit. There are people that I know that are running high-end GPUs (GTX 670, HD 7870, etc) on low graphics even though their systems could easily slice through the game at the highest settings with 150-200 FPS. Their response to my absolute horror: "We're used to this. We like it that way."

It's not that the textures themselves look bad, but that the textures fade and degrade in quality as you get farther away. It looks awful and there are much more effective ways to increase performance for players with lower end rigs.

No, it does not look awfull, you wont even notice it. You only notice it when the Wireframe is enabled.

We are used to having less graphical fidelity, when improving it has no perceptible cost to performance? k den if they say so...

I was looking at the new dev blog and they mentioned are 225 km squared piece of terrain but I don't know if that is for the campaign map or not. Seems like an awful lot of space for the M&B sized battles of 100 - 500 units even if it gets up to 1000.

It's for the battle map, and it's only the max size you can manipulate like now.
Title: Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Post by: Rejenorst on October 01, 2014, 09:36:25 am
Ah ok. That seems amazingly huge for battlemaps. I think ARMA 2 maps are like 200km squared to get a sense of scale.

I am really curious to know if and how they will exploit that technical achievement in battle maps or if they will limit the areas you can move around in but allow for say 25km + background scenic areas etc.
Title: Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord
Post by: BNS Marko on October 01, 2014, 10:27:48 am
It's basically 15km x 15km(225km2, not (225km)2) on each border, there was a massive discussion on the metric scales on the TW topic lol.
I imagine it's going to be really useful in PW mods, also autogenerating battle according to army sizes in singleplayer.

Edit: Yes in comparison to the 200kmsq ArmA map, and also ~54kmsq Skyrim map.

Post by: Riddlez on October 05, 2014, 11:00:34 pm
Arma 3, I think, has 250-300 kmsq, if I am not mistaken.
But, don't forget, ArmA has cars, trucks, planes, fighter jets and Helicopters. I mean, driving form Kavala to the very north of Altis takes a long time even in a car at 100 mph

I am not sure what the source was for that April release date though. It just pops up at the top of google when u search for it. Any discussion(s) about it will likely stem from Turkish sources.

Wiki states 2016 with citation needed and I am thinking that a late 2015 or 2016 release is more likely.

From what I have seen with the combat, I am very much into it, but I think that they need to take another step and add gore in. It is something that was always needed in the Mount & Blade franchise, and if they don't add it, it will still be awesome, but, it will be really lacking. Even if they put as an option in the campaign menu, to turn it on and off at will, will be good for me.

When I helped to do the original voices for M&B Warband; Armagan didn't end up using the more violent screams I did (which I later released as Official voice pack), as he wanted to keep the product friendly for all ages I believe. If they pursue a similar line with M&B2 I doubt they will include much more gore than blood splatter, but I expect M&B2 will likely be mod friendly so hopefully there might be some opportunities there.

maybe not abandoning BCoF, but i defiantly see them making a mod for Bannerlord to promote more donations for BCoF and get more publicity, sorta the same way North and south 2.0 was released by hinkel a few months back.

That's kinda what I meant with the optional thing, even without age in mind there are some people who would just prefer to keep it clean or at least without blood flying everywhere.

I expect a mod where you can launch prisoners on that there catapult. The thwack impact sounds will be immensely satisfying. If you launch a Lord (being they probably can't die) it will likely diminish your relations by the size of the brick he hits on the way down.

Away with you vile beggar! *Fire catapult* *Wilhelm scream* *Thwack* *Glorious*

Updates.

Quote
-Motion-capture technology is being used.
-Multi-level battle maps (for example there is a dungeon under a village.)
-Team of 70 people are developing the game.
-Single-player map is 4 times bigger than Warband.
-Dynamic seasons
-Player and NPC's can have kids. Player can play as his/her kids when retired/died.
-Presumably there is some sort of ageing system if kids are playable characters
-NPC's can recruit companions.
-Climbable ladders.
-Maps in game are layered; and you can find dungeons in basement of the buildings and you can use the roofs as well.
-Atmosphere is much more detailed, they said it somewhat resembles the detail level and ambience of pre-release Witcher 3 videos.
-Weapon swings and usage feels much more real than the previous games, animations are motion captured.
-Women and men have different and realistic body types, and you can choose different body types for characters.
-There will be a new graphics engine specifically coded for this game.
-Transition between seasons will be much quicker, and seasonal changes will be reflected in the battlefield and town maps.
-Optimisation hasn't started yet.
- All companions and important characters have voice acting. (Not all NPC's because there are many of them.)
- Different cultures have different accents.
- They are unsure about lord's children replacing them when they die.
- You can play 12 different board games at inns. All of them are imitations of historical real-word board games.
- You can find bards at inns.
- Towns are going to be a lot more lively.
- Rather than scripts, essential NPC's have various behaviors(?). Every time you enter this town you will find it different. (Random events? Maybe a lord with paranoid trait beheads all woodsman thus making wood extinct? It's good to imagine...)
- Weapons react different to different surfaces. While an arrow get stuck in wood, it can bounce off a rock.
- Warband will be out for PS 4 and Xbox One. PlayStation version is currently playable. They are trying to maintain 60 fps in 100 vs 100 battles. No release date yet.
- Developers seem to know what they're doing. Game will be released when they think it is finished.
- Don't forget game is still in development these can change.

Yes, these are a list of things that *might* be in the game. Onto the topic of consoles: personally, I think it's a good thing because they might make more money from it to make it into a better game, more people will know about the game and I'll be able to play it on the PS4. What do you think?

Here are some snapshots of the console version (very large, you have been warned):

Just dont take it serious  ;)

But when a console guy says that pc gaming has nothing to do with gaming.
I really think some of them must be really dumb.

I personally love playing on every console and pc as long  I have fun.

PCMR is more like a fancult for the "small" PC community.

I would buy banterlord for both PC and Xbox

PC Masterrace is really just a joke that some people decided to take seriously. Sadly it happens both ways, there's a lot of console gamers that still believe PC gaming is nothing but Farmville and Minecraft.

Personally I think it is undeniable that PC offers more than Consoles, but I can accept people prefering consoles based on personal preferences. To each his own.

one thing that was always cool about consoles is that everyone was on a level playing field. You didnt usually lose because you get low fps, or that guy has a higher hertz monitor than you or a better mouse or something.

Connectivity and ping issues have always been a problem on consoles and cause lots of shit between players.

A lot of console games still suffer from framedrops. A LOT. That coupled with connectivity issues and it's not that perfect, tbh.

As for the whole PC thing with people having better mouse and stuff. If someone really is a good player, he will always be good, no matter if he uses a €5,- mouse or a €150,- one. A fancier mouse really doesn't help you that much. Truly the only equipment that I can think of that is usefull is a good, clear sound setup, now THAT can make a lot of difference in a FPS game.

The way I've always seen it is that consoles are better when you want to play local multiplayer with your friends or family. You only need to buy one magic box, not one for each player, and everyone being together on the couch and socializing is more fun than people being in their own world with headphones on at a computer.

If you plan on playing a lot of singleplayer or competitive play without any damn auto-aim... then PC is where it's at.

There was mention of Warband being ready for Playstation in the info that you linked, nothing about development of Bannerlord for consoles. Was it actually written in the Turkish magazine that these are console screenshots? In any case, they look great, thanks for posting them. The version here is higher res than the one I've seen posted at Taleworlds, and you can really see the horse bard better. I love the way that lamellar looks! By the way, someone on Taleworlds forum said that the round hilt of that Khuzait sword was of Chinese origin and spread across the steppe of Central Asia, so that explains the hilt.

And as such it is sad to see that most developers have stopped implementing split-screen multiplayer in games. Such a damn shame.

Indeed, I remember split screen multiplayer fondly, from games like Lotus Turbo Challenge 3 on the Amiga back in the early 1990s, to the demo of Serious Sam on PC a decade later. Playing over the internet or even over a LAN in different rooms isn't the same.

It's nearly confirmed. Given how much mods have helped sell Warband, and make it far more popular than the original M&B, specifically when thousands of people have bought Warband just for MM/NW alone, Bannerlord basically has to have strong modding capability, and some aspiring Joe-Schmo type will absolutely make their version of MM/NW's successor.

So yeah, probably-definitely.

Some of you may already know that Bannerlord is one of the games being demonstrated at the PC Gamer Weekender in a couple of days. What you may not know is that at 16:00 GMT on the Sunday, there will apparently be a live stream of the Bannerlord presentation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe6g0_HRexw (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qe6g0_HRexw)

I don't know whether all of it will be shown or whether it will cover other games as well during the 1 hour slot that Bannerlord has, but we will be able to see something of the presentation which includes 40 minutes of live gameplay.

EDIT: whilst the PC Gamer live stream does start at 13:00, Bannerlord's slot in this stream is scheduled to start at 16:00.

I checked the TaleWorlds forum again and realised Captain Lust had stated something earlier; as far as he knows, he says, there will be a 20 minute slot for Bannerlord in the livestream. So we certainly won't see all of the footage live, but he also said the whole thing was going to be recorded and we would see it at a later date, probably one or two weeks afterwards.

@Sinjide; I wouldn't worry about the console port, I am not sure it has even been confirmed for Bannerlord. As I remember it, the brief mentions it had in interviews said that they were considering it,  though they have said Warband is definitely going to be on Xbox and PS4. Also Armagan has stated that if Bannerlord is ported to consoles it will be after the PC release of the game and development will not be influenced by the console port.

The same footage will be streamed later in HD. I advise waiting for that instead of watching lower quality.

Me too. Just imagine a Napoleonic mod.

I really hope we'll get a Napoleonic mod. It would be amazing. This game will still be GOTY for me though. I'm definitely pre-ordering as soon as it is possible.

Well, someone on TW forums told me there will surely be a Napoleonic Wars mod. The DLC really had potential when it first released. But it went down because of the community and the updates. (I THINK).

If it will be a mod, it will still have some native bannerlord in it. Like MM from Warband. Also same community as the modders. I think fairly many people will play the mod.

Stream is over.. That was amazing. The map, the battle, goddamn everything... I cannot contain my hype. Anyway, I want to comment on a few things on the game.

1 - The weapon system is absolutely amazing. I love now that you can create your own weapons, but there is one feature I'd like to ask is in the game. Aging of the weapons! If you have used the weapons for prolonged periods of time, the weapon is bound to get scratches and in some cases, get damaged. I would like to see scratches on swords, and even blood marks. If the weapon is broken in battle, for example the handle breaks off, then you will have to go back to the smithy to have the weapon repaired. I feel like this would really immerse the players in the game.

2 - I really found the influence system quite interesting. I would like to suggest a feature to be added to that however. If you have a higher title, like being a King, you should have a largr influence than say a Lord. For example, on that video, Phil was a Lord and was able to make another person follow him for 10 days. I think that a King should be able to make someone follow him for about 25 - 35 days. Also, I presume that if you lose a tournament or lose a battle your influence will decrease.

3 - One thing I saw is that the battlefield was the same. On the video earlier and the stream today, the battleground was the exact game. I would like to see a sort of battlefield randomizer. I know that this could be hard to implement into the game, but if you could, it would mark out any repetativeness in the game.

4 - I am really pleased that they have decided to make the game feel more alive. I would suggest a way to do that even more, this time with soldiers. You could have soldiers talking amongst themselves, when not in combat, like they do in the most recent Total War games. I think that this could really add to the atmosphere of the game.

Looks good to me, seems pretty realistic- when you see horses converge like that in real life they sort of deflect off each other, much like people do. It isn't like there were any head on collisions, they were all at angles. In Warband in contrast, there would be no effect at all on one horse, and the other one stops dead in its tracks and rears, as if momentum and mass didn't exist!

3 - One thing I saw is that the battlefield was the same. On the video earlier and the stream today, the battleground was the exact game. I would like to see a sort of battlefield randomizer. I know that this could be hard to implement into the game, but if you could, it would mark out any repetativeness in the game.

I was thrown by this at first, but there is no reason to think they will have a few set maps rather than using a generation system as in Warband, and I believe I know why the map was the same. I wrote about this at TaleWorlds and will paste my thoughts here:

I was also initially perturbed to note that the battle map was the same or looked extremely similar in both battles, and the same Vlandian lord was fought each time yet in a different part of the world map. But I now think this was deliberately set up for the purpose of showcasing the features that they wanted to within the time constraints of the demonstration; they needed the player to find both a friendly lord to bring along to show that feature (subordinating a friendly lord to join you) and an enemy lord. So to make sure it could be done quickly and not waste time searching the map and avoiding other interactions, they set up the lords in these positions in advance. For the same reason they probably made sure the same battle map was generated regardless of world map topography (or else placed the enemy lord in very similar areas of Vlandian land to get a similar result) so that they could demonstrate the enemy lord selecting a steep hill to use as a defence.

Damn,
I'm now totally hyped for the game. Looking so good already. Especially it is nice to see non-empty towns without mindlessly wandering bystanders and characters standing still with no motion like we have in Warband. It seems much more polished in all fields.

Totally lost it when they started showcasing the facial features, it made me think which kind of multiplayer will be like knowing the community and their choice of faces  ;D.

I wish it comes this year like they want. Probably not but still.

I don't see anything wrong with them, those modded ones that make it all stylistic make it difficult to tell what the attacks obviously are which is pretty stupid in my opinion. They need to be a bit stiff for the game to be playable for the majority of people. If they want to add animations where the up and down attack looks basically exactly the same, that'll be easily.

So, speaking mods/DLC, would you guys be more excited to see a Napoleonic mod or something else? What about a 15th-16th century mod done well, with a balance between swords, early guns, and cavalry, with of course some pikes in there if they work out well. I'd honestly be way more into that after how redundant NW has been. NW on Bannerlord would just be NW on Warband but with better visuals imo.

Absolutely. That new(ish) Valyrian reforge quest screams for that weapon customization feature. I really hope that whole thing is moddable so you can specify a specific vendor, like a guy in Qohor or King's Landing, to "reforge" Valyrian steel for you, ie. you bring what he needs and it opens up the ability to craft a new weapon. I would love that function in a GOT mod.

The problem with With Fire and Sword was that it wasn't finished and that it was set in a time period too foreign for people in predominantly English speaking countries, as well as the French, Germans, Italians, etc. If you grew up in that area, like the development team had, the events may be far more relevant to you, like how the American Independence is here and the English Civil War is in England (if you couldn't guess, heh).

I meant more like a late Hundred Years War type thing.

Precisely, the setting of With Fire and Sword was cool, but irrelevant to most of the world because of the countries involved were so locked to that region at the time.

it does although I am not sure stunning graphics were what they were going for with the game. Aslong as there is an improvement over everything then its a better game for us regiments to play.

Always caring about those silly regiments.

If the singleplayer looks good enough. I doubt I will be playing much multiplayer in this one. D:

That wont change in the next game either.

Yes. I just started a new campaign on Warband. I like it with sound mods and some additional things like diplomacy. xp

It was not rude meant what I wanted to point out but, people only seem to care about Multiplayer these days.

Well this brings us on. Single player games always get boring after a certain amount of time. Only reason people play games like Skyrim because the modding scene is huge on it.

I personally start up a campaign maybe once a year or two which considering I play the game for atleast 2 hours everyday is pretty bad. Single player made me buy the game 8 years ago on taleworlds xD My mum let me buy it :') I was 12 at the time

My point was:
Aslong as there is an improvement over everything then its a better game for us regiments to play.
I was just pointing my statement towards everyone on the forums that would read it which is regimental :P

The nostalgia is so good when you jump back into the game but after playing games like eu4 the diplomacy feels very lacklustre even with the diplomacy mod.

And we should all start playing Guild wars 2. It's f2p now apparently

True

And I think you can destroy enemy equipment just like you can damage buildings. I think.

I think that the hair should move in the wind - it has already been achieved on an old engine in Viking Conquest, so I don't see why it cannot be achieved on a new engine. I think that bows have been made more powerful (although you cannot tell if they have been made more powerful or if it is simply cheats, which have been used on streams before) as well as them moving more quickly which is better, for me at least.

An extract from one of the developer blogs if this helps:
Spoiler
One of the major reveals in the siege gameplay is destruction. To lay it completely bare, the following are destructible: Any and all siege weapons and siege engines, all of the merlons (those battlements along the tops of the walls) and the two gates in the gatehouse. Additionally, it is possible to create a full breach in the walls, allowing for your soldiers to pass over on foot, and restricting the mobility of the defenders, who can no longer traverse that section; this is only possible on the overland map, our reasoning being that it should only be possible with a time investment, and to place emphasis on the battle itself being an assault on the walls, rather a time to sit back and bombard. There is a fleshed out bombardment phase on the overland map, during which, the siege weapons you construct will exchange fire back and forth with the defenders', resulting in casualties, as well as damage to the siege equipment and walls.

Destruction is enhanced by the inclusion of fire damage. With some extra investment, it is possible to construct mangonel and ballista that shoot flaming arrows or burning jars of oil. Fire is a type of damage, just like Cut and Piece in the previous games, which is effective against wooden siege equipment, troops and horses. Jars of oil also have an area of effect when they collide, making them particularly lethal in clustered choke-points, such as the murder holes.

It's not nearly as bad as Warband, what are you talking about lol?

In Warband, every single soldier went along the exact path that would be quickest for them. Now, each soldier seems to better understand where they are and where their unit is and where both of those things needs to go. It's way better than it used to be--it's not perfect, but it's WAY better.

Don't worry. There are many games, which have a steam store page launched, but no release date set and no price listed for years.
When the steam store page launches, it does mean that the alpha testers getting their keys to be able to play it via steam. So which would mean, a very basic alpha version is available for those testers now ;)

Probably for the best, quality takes time after all. I ain't impatient for a rushed release.

A lack of release date doesn't mean a release isn't anywhere close. It could be coming within the next few months, all depending on how quickly progress is made. Remember: time =/= quality; there's absolutely no true relation. A man can paint a masterpiece in a few minutes while another paints a piece of shit over the span of several years. Same with books, same with movies, same with music, same with anything. As long as everything goes well and there's minimal interruptions, Bannerlord can come out pretty quickly.

That said, don't get too hung up on these games. There's plenty of amazing games out there and you're robbing yourself of them by focusing on NW, BCoF, Bannerlord, WoR, etc.

True about time and quality, maybe Taleworlds will surprise everyone with some significant news soonTM, but I would not want to put more pressure on Taleworlds. Many users on the Internet just beg and ask for a release date, countless times. They want the game right now but according to the recent development news (from PC Gamer) it is still too early to talk about the features many users want, like multiplayer info and co-op. If the PR guy says it is still too early to talk about the good stuff, that's it for now.

I'm not too focused on these games and every single update, if Bannerlord releases this year or the next, great. I have a lot of patience and bide the majority of time based on priority. I happily oblige to reply and it keeps the thread 'active' instead of forgotten.

you do realise that they have been working on this for several years now? i find it highly unlikely that there would be nothing to show. the only 'amazing' part of this footage is that it gives a glimpse into multiplayer.

Yes they have been working on it for several years and yet the game is clearly not finished which shows that there is at least some aspect of the game that is being worked on, with the fighting looking pretty polished it's reasonable to assume that they are finishing other aspects of the game.

If the game was completely finished then we would be given a release date.
Title: Re: Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord

You gotta understand how game development works. The first year or more, it's all just engine building, scripting, defining aspects like the physics, the core mechanics, etc., and then plenty more time spent filling it up with animations, models and textures, dialogue and content, netcode, maps, item stats (which take time to balance), gamemodes, specific and generic NPCs, quests, and so on, and at this point the team probably would find some issues or limitations with the core engine, which they would have to further tweak to fix or to unlimit themselves. Then, there's still stuff like the new and improved map editor and recording mode, and all the polish that goes into each texture and asset and model to avoid weird graphical glitches or clipping. And I didn't even cover all of it. They definitely don't want to run into the issues that spin-offs like WFaS or Caribbean had, though both were made by a different studio/company. They still want to get the mechanics from those games/DLCs and popular mods that got people to buy the game in the first place.

This is why I still have faith in my #1 man.
