A naval warfare game set in the Napoleonic Wars period. This game is being developed by a group of indie developers that come from the NW community itself. It is planned to be 1st/3rd person with in-depth melee. I don't know about you, but sailing the seven seas and kicking ass sounds pretty damn fun to me. The developers for it are Blobmania, Wolfstar, Skvor, Rycon, and Reaper. Looks like a really promising project, so you know, get hyper and all that jazz!

Did they actually make that concept at or take it from google? Im pretty sure I've seen that painting before, I'm on my phone and cannot reverse search it, so that's my cynical comment.

Neat stuff you guys got going, I'm interested in how its outcome will look like with such a team.

That's awesome, Ive seen some of his work before and never knew the artist name. I think it stems from it being a picture frequently found on google if searching for marines. I read a bit on the website, you guys plan on using Unity as well?

Yeah, we do :) We've actually already got some stuff in-game, I had a lot of fun earlier testi.... Actually, you might have to wait 'til the next Dev diary for that one ;)

Also, dat art. Just spent a good 15 minutes browsing Skworus' DA, was pleasantly surprised to find he's behind some of the vikingr stuff as well, great artist.

One more thing, that British Marine appears to have copied my moustache... :P

We haven't forgotten you either ;) We'll be getting in contact fairly soon, once we've actually got something semi-presentable to show you. At present my laptop's undergoing repairs so we can't actually record any of the animations we need for a playable version, meaning that our character control system at present consists of a ninja running round with a couple of directional attacks available. Once we've got the animations sorted, we'll be that much closer to releasing something playable.

The dutch team in the NW Nations Cup run by Hekko last year were given early access to the website, and will be given access to  one of the early alpha builds as their prize for winning the competition.

Of course, once we open donations, our donators will also be given Alpha access, so there's always a way.... ;)

Quick update - we've had to delay our latest dev diary a bit because we're still working on some of the multiplayer features we'd been hoping to showcase. We were originally planning to give examples of the ship control and water physics systems, but decided we might as well just go the full mile and instead show our first multiplayer build when we've got it developed. Watch this space!

Apparently if I can run NW above 70% then I can run it. I should be ok for BCoF

I'm also sure you could get support by Paradox if you want it since they support these type of games already.

To be honest, we'd rather work without a publisher if we can :) It gives us much greater creative license, and means won't need to give a large portion of our profits to the publishers (I believe the cut Paradox got for NW was somewhere around 50%, despite doing a rather poor job of advertising and supporting the DLC).

Currently no release date. We honestly have no idea when we'll be done.

Currently planning Britain as the first faction, with France following sometime after. Spain is planned before the final release, but won't be added until late in development, in all likelihood.

Haha, nice. It'll be great if you can keep it updated as we develop the project.

If you want, we can chat a bit about what we're planning or the game. A lot of stuff isn't ready for announcement yet, but I may be able to answer a few questions for you so you can populate the Wiki a little more. Add "Blobmania" on steam.

We'll probably release a small forum when we start the public alpha testing, and just add boards and stuff as the community grow. There just isn't much point creating a forum when there's not even a playable version of the game to talk about - I'd rather create a forum upon beta release with "Bug Reports", "Tech Support" and "General Chatter" sections and then just grow it organically, as required.
