Welcome to this section, and great you want to start re-enacting.

If I may ask, how come a Yank has such a love for the Netherlands 1813-15 army?

You never asked me that.  :P

Anyways, welcome to the hobby (I currently do WWII, but I've been considering getting into Napoleonic War as well)! I myself live in the states, though a bit further down south. Now, if you're looking for a Dutch regiment, I'm afraid you (and I) are at a lose. I've looked all over the internet for one, but haven't found anything. If it's British or French you're looking for, the Brigade-Napoleon organization has some links on their website (Plus googling specific units may turn-up the occasional other group). And if you're looking for a Prussian unit, https://www.facebook.com/groups/293340354077092/ , those guys are your only option it seems, but they're in the mid-atlantic. Alas, Napoleonic War units are pretty few and far between, here.

There are, but limited. It's mostly in the East Canada/Northeast USA.

1812 Re-enactment should be bit bigger. Google is your best friend here. Try 'Brigade Napoleon North America'.

Well, in my experience, pretty much EVERY group has got at least 'that one guy' that knows how the uniform was and how to get or make it, including completely unnecessary details.

Regiments typically don't 'give' you items, but they do lend uniform parts out in the beginning.
