Welcome to a brand new tournament, ruleset based on that of the NWBC but with differing classes. The general concept of this tournament is to offer a relaxed skirmishers battle with a slightly competitive edge; teams will be comprised of a rifle unit and light unit, hopefully generating a natural push and pull on maps with plenty of cover and interesting features. |

1.1 This tournament will not be using GUID's, we do however reserve the right to disqualify the offending team if double regging is discovered. Periodic checks of the logs will be made to look for duplicate ID's joining matches, any found will be investigated. Likewise if any participants suspect another team they may contact the host for clarification. Inviting from other regiments which are also participating in the tournament will not be tolerated and may result in an auto-win for the opposing team. This change in rule has been introduced for a number of reasons but primarily to make this tournament less work for every regiment participating, please do not abuse this freedom!
1.2 Minimum attendance to matches is 20 players and the maximum 30, should one team bring less, the opposition may still field at least 20. If teams bring greater than 20 players, the maximum one team can outnumber the other is +1.
1.3 Both teams must balance to the above restrictions within the first 30 seconds of each round (notified by refs). Should any team not action a drop in players specified by the ref during this time period, they will either reset the round to give the team further time or slay at random to achieve balance (do not try the refs patience!). After this 30 second spawn period the round is Live and no revives or balancing by the teams (as a result of disconnects) will be performed.
1.4 Matches will consist of 6 rounds on one custom map (with a side swap).
1.5 After 10mins from the arranged time have elapsed, either Team has the right to force the match to begin.
1.6 Matches should be fought in the order specified in the brackets. Should any match run over into a second week it is expected that those regiments play two matches in that week, to keep pace with the rest of the attendees.
1.7 If for any reason an amicable date/time to play is not forthcoming, we reserve the right to schedule the match for the next coming Sunday @7:00UK as default.
1.8 Should either of the participants of the match or the ref wish to, all-chat can be disallowed. Warnings may be issues if members do not observe this rule.

2.2 Should any rule-breaks occur the victim will always be eligible for a revive. A slay may also be issued to the offender if the rule-break was potentially deliberate (discretion of the referee).
2.3 All Charges may be called if either: both teams are considered camping (2.4) or if 10mins of the round have elapsed.
2.4 If entirety of either team neither gains or gives ground for 3 minutes the referee may issue a warning. Should the warning be ignored the team may be forced to forfeit the round. If BOTH teams are considered to be camping the referee may resolve the round with an 'all charge'.
2.6 Regiments must stay together whilst in charge; individuals straying dramatically from the rest of their regiment (rambos) in an attempt to engage a 2nd enemy unit will be slain without warning.
2.7 Charging two enemy units at once is only acceptable if either both units are in close proximity to one another or your regiment is of sufficient size to engage the 2nd unit without breaking the rambo rule (2.6).
2.8 A unit is considered to have 'left charge' after the unit(s) they were fighting has been eliminated or approximately 15 seconds after the last attack connected; once that unit has 'left charge' they are able to re-form and follow their usual class rules.
2.9 Relating to rule 2.8 above; if two or more units 'leave charge' after 15 seconds of no attack connecting, then all units concerned MUST re-form (or join another unit if necessary) prior to initiating a new charge. Note that an attack must not have connected between the units concerned for 15 seconds for the above rule to come into affect.

3.3 May spread up to 5-man spacing.
3.4 May crouch.
3.5 May manoeuvre spread out.
3.6 Lights may not pick-up Rifles & Rifles may not pick-up Muskets.
3.7 Units may take an officer but they will not be eligible for a revive if shot.
3.8 Must join their friendly unit when numbers drop below 4 (when not in charge).

Well played both sides, French team took an early lead with 2-1 before the side-swap, securing the win in the next 2 rounds with the Nr13 and Nr59 taking the last round.
Good game! Pretty clean for the first match bar two FiC's in the middle of the match, really close (almost FiC) volley from lights against each other in last round and I also missed a break-away FiC in that one so apologies Nr13, you did win that round though. Spacing was pretty equal between both teams so no issues there. No camping of any kind, nice match taking just under 45mins.

Well played to both teams, 45th took an easy lead to start winning all 3 rounds. Svea really turned it on in the 2nd half though and won the remaining 3 rounds by a landslide.
Rule breaks wise it wasn't too bad but gaps were a definite issue with the 45th Lights, causing issues with shooting or engaing multiple units. It wasn't horrendous but it's far easier to keep the FiC contained if you tighten up for the future matches. A few times needed to revive and a couple of slays so not too shabby. One major occasion of mass FiC (over half the unit) in the 2nd to last round by the 45th lights but Abo returned in kind so let it slide. All in all gg and was a good game to watch.

We had almost never played riflemen before, and for some beginners it was a problem to properly understand the rules of the game on this unit: some freedom of actions of players was unnecessarily seducing, and gave the impression of limited 'permissiveness'. I tried to control the situation, but it was hard.

La Grande Armée 4 - 2 BIR & LDF
Refereed by Beunon (thanks for stepping in!) but posting on his behalf. Reviewed some footage for this one as he was new and looks like it was a bit messy in places. Firstly match stared half hour late due to the LDF, credit to the 17e & 1er for permitting this delay as they could have demanded to begin playing at 10mins past the scheduled time. Rounds 1-3 looked pretty solid with La Grande Armée taking a lead of 1-2. After the side-swap there was some confusion as to what the light class was for France so BIR ended up taking Marines, corrected afterwards but didn't make much different as the round was one by a landslide.
Last 2 rounds were a bit messy; all charge was called and LDF continued firing and delaying by running all over the map, some slays and some retaliation FiC but even at the start of the AC La Grande Armée was up by 6 and had most of their lights still alive. Final round there was some obviously accidental FiC from the BIR (their adherence to the rules up to this point being impeccable), gaining them two kills but they won this final round with a landslide of some 10+ men up bringing the match to 4-2 in favour of La Grande Armée.
Wp to both teams but the LDF could have done with being more considerate of the rules and the participants, especially when the opposition afforded them a delayed start of 30mins. Thankyou to Beunon for reffing or this match could have been much worse! In light of the above all round scores stand.

Match started on time, 45th running at just under 20 players so unfortunately the BIR & LG had to spec many of their players. A bit of a struggle with getting the balance of their team to 20 players but the LG are new to this style of competition so won't begrudge them a bit of lee way and I occasionally had to randomly swap some of their members to spec. First half ended at 2-1 for the 45th and the BIR & LG were able to snatch one more round in the 2nd half but ultimately the 45th melee carried the rounds. Only 1 FiC by 45th Rifles in the 2nd round which was slain - gg wp both teams.
45th 6 - 0 33rd
As I was unavailable the 33rd were faced with a difficult situation as the 45th were 15mins late to the match, out of good will they chose to play on without a ref. I have reviewed some footage of the rounds and really there weren't any huge round changing rule breaks and ultimately the 45th got the better of the 33rd in this match. I cannot stress enough though the importance of promptly attending arranged matches; the match last week was moved within 30mins of start time due to the understanding on the part of the 33rd and there were some disgruntled members at this score in light of the fact they could have called forfeit on two separate occasions! I hope the 45th respect the fact that those in the 33rd present did not call for a forfeit, especially in light of recent occasions where the 45th gave no such leniency to their opponents. In any case gg wp both teams but do keep to the scheduling of matches please.

KSA took an early lead with 2 rounds then La Grande Armee managed to pull away with 3 successive rounds. The final round settled into a camp on either side of a field on opposite walls, both teams having the camp timer called and expiring at the same time. KSA started a push up one wall with the La Grande Armee making no movement, only to slightly reposition to decimate the KSA as they broke from cover. The ruleset does permit me as ref to award the round to the opposite team when one team (and not the other) does not comply with a camp timer warning, however I opted for offering the KSA to void the round if they wished. As such a 7th and final round was played, in which the KSA managed to win the round, despite a really close clutch from the 17e in melee. Well played to both teams and apologies to the any of the Grande Armee members whom deemed this unfair, but from my perspective the last round (voided) was really not fair on the KSA whom had abided by the camp timer, only to be shot to hell for their trouble. A worthy draw in the end!

GG WP, thx for admining, quiet nice match till the last round. Only minor rule breaks one FiC from us and some questionable kils. Mainly on one round where Abo was pushed by both group and got few kills in small number of players (not sure by me, we were too far away to know how many our guys were there). I understad as the 6th round void was beneficial to us. But we tried to not to camp to make it more interesting and tactical. In the end we decided to push and most of the time got decimated by La Grande Armée thanks to their good aim.

BIR & LG 4 - 2 KSA
Quite an even fight in the first 4 rounds with some contentious close range FiC & RiC. Nothing round breaking though and my apologies for a late revive that was right at the end of the melee that resulted in some confused FiC aswell. Final 2 rounds BIR & LG pulled away and largely thanks to some really nice plays in shooting and melee from the BIR, well played to both teams this really could have gone either way.

An aggressive last match to finish off the tournament, finishing in 25mins. Unfortunately the KSA had to struggle with lower numbers being around 4 down each round, they took this in their stride though and pushed hard. Good melee and shooting on both sides with minimal to no rule breaks - wp and gg!

Right that wraps up NWSC lads, thanks to all the participants - bar a few moments of drama the tournament ran pretty smoothly and only overran by just under a week. Take homes I think are the maps were the biggest impact on the conduct of matches, arguably greater than the teams themselves. Everything else worked pretty tight and well played to all participants. Massive thankyou to Rabixel and Dams who single-handedly performed most of the reffing. Hope everyone has a brilliant summer! :D
