Introduction Spoiler Welcome back to EGS League 1. After a month break due to Christmas we see teams returning to the competitive scene once again. The format for this Sunday will be a 5v5, However with Hydra and 10c not attending, only 10 teams will be playing. The lack of 10c give envy a very high chance of winning today but with the loss of their captain zenon, will they be able to bring home gold? [close] |
Prediction Spoiler Without 10c we can easily say Envy are the team to beat, with excellent team work, High level of individual skill and superb dedication we can see that players like Achilles and Chuckster who combined make one of the most aggressive flanks we have seen in this season of EGS will stop at nothing to bring gold home for their team today. This along with other strong players such as Extazz and Jakob will make this team the one to beat this Sunday. ast 7v7 we saw 10c and Envy face off in the finals and Invictus and DAB face of in the bronze match with 10c coming first, Envy coming second and Invictus coming third. Today with 10c gone we can see that the teams to watch as they make their way up to the finals will be Invictus, DAB, Enigma and Snappers. Invictus with players such as Clash, Hertz, Hypno, Zeronight and Herishey are sure to cause an upset as many of these players being old vets showing why they should still be feared while the newer players, Narrow and Blitzkrieg, look to support the team. Next we see Enigma. Enigma has all you could want from a German team, Aggressive range, Excellent teamwork and patience which could spell disaster for any team which underestimate them. With players such as Wolpi, Bunter_Igel, Wursti and Gerher you can be sure this team in a 5v5 is incredibly strong. Next we have Dab with a mix of new and older gen players with the likes of Janne, Lonedoge, Ryan and Shype who all showed us in the last 5v5 that they have what it takes to beat the stronger teams. Snappers comes in next with strong leadership and excellent teamwork. Many of these players have been together for years in the 15thYR and so can adapt to any obstacle thrown in their way with players such as Mike, Anubis, GI and Irish who all posses the skill and determination to perform this Sunday. Teams such as Animals can easily cause upsets with new and old players of the likes of Red, Alatriste, Lebrave and Slavic who all have the potential to cause massive problems if underestimated, Eye fuckers will look also to cause an upset with players such as Dren, Nock, Blackbeard and Kennedy while NPP brings dedication and good teamwork with players such as Kore, Mauri, Eddard Stark and Lama. CCCP with a relative normal performance so far brings experienced players such as Marxiel, Ironreign, Mandarin and Kobzik and we cant forget about Fluss, who brings the likes of Cammelbe, Darki, Destiny and Iglo. Fantasy League and NWWC are probably the two tournaments that take the most work/stress to setup and run which is why most people can't or don't want to host them. That is the problem this late in the game most people that host are concentrated on EGS. EGS also makes it hard for a second tournament to be running where matches are played once a week.host nwwc so we can all quit afterwards

Review Spoiler With 10c being away this Sunday we saw many unlikely teams rise to the finals and semi-finals giving some teams the points needed to progress along with the rankings. First let's start off with Envy, the victors of the tournament. They dominated the tournament winning every match and comfortably winning the finals. With players like Chuckster, Steinmann, Achilles, Jakob, and Extazz this team was easily able to secure a gold giving them two wins in this season of EGS. Eye fuckers surprised many all the way to the finals beating Invictus 7-6 in the semi-finals and beating CCCP in the quarterfinals. This team massively outperformed many people's expectations and went on to earn a silver in the finals, With Dren, Nock, and Kennedy playing exceptionally well in both the semi-finals and finals. Next, we have Invictus, A team that lost hard vs animals in the group stages but came back hard in the finals. They Beat DAB 7-2 with players like blitzkrieg and Herishey making many plays giving them a solid victory over this strong team, They fell short in the semi-finals losing to Eyefuckers 7-6 but came back once again in the animals match with all players playing exceptionally. It is worth noting all of their players put a good shift in during this tournament playing at a good level allowing the team to outclass the rest of the competition. Next, we have Eye fuckers with Dren, Kennedy, and Nock outperforming what many expected of them pushing their team into the finals vs envy. Lastly, we have Invictus with Herishey, Hypno, and Blitzkreig (who played well in all their matches except the loss vs Eye Fuckers). These players carried their team through the finals and quarterfinals with Herishey earning MVP of the tournament. [close] |
| Interviews Spoiler Blitzkrieg: How did you feel about invictus performance this Sunday? Herishey: It was frustrating to begin with as Hertz had a rough start against Animals in the Group Stage. But after he swapped himself out and Hypno came in we played really well for the most part from that point on. Our only other loss being in the semi-finals after a close match with Eye Fuckers. In this match Hypno and I performed exceptionally but unfortunately Blitzkreig and ZeroNight had a bit of a rough time in this match (I'm sure ZeroNight will be the first to tell you that and write a paragraph about himself). In all fairness to ZeroNight he has played very well and much better than expected in the previous tournaments. Blitzkreig also played really well in our earlier matches such as vs Drug Abusers where he was crucial along with myself and Hypno. So in the end I was happy to claim 3rd place after a rough start from ourselves, though I do feel if ClaSh was able to come we'd have most likely came 2nd before being crushed by the tryhard virgins. The Eye-Fuckers match was the most frustrating I'd say because once I saw our semi-final was them I thought we had a very good chance to get to the finals, but they played very well. Especially Crusher who I expected to be crushed but he instead was a strong wall on the wall. [close] |
