I'm not sure I deserve to be on the list, I haven't done anything of note in the past few weeks(or played). But the ego boost is appreciated.  ;D

Also winning 3 weekly duel tournaments in a row is pretty impressive, congrats Bill. I think the only reason people are putting you down is because of your dank shitposts.

I wouldnt be biased when I rate people just because I dislike them...but I rek all of these guys on the regular so I understand where there jealousy comes from.

Hey I'm not the one rating, I'm just speculating why you might of got the rating you got from the list makers.

Well the problem is we didn't really get together and discuss the ratings, we were just asked for a top 10 list via steam (and I guess Orcaryo averaged them), which leaves things like criteria pretty open to interpretation.

Regarding the fact that some people up on that list don't "play", I will gladly take anyone off the list if they feel they should not be on there, all they need to do is let me know and I will add in someone else, I will remove Pinoy as I RECENTLY found out he is taking a break. Don't believe me? Ask Maple, he was most likely gonna be on the list but he told me not to put him on there, so I complied.

As per Bill:

-Coming on here and breaking forum rules and calling people biased will not get you a higher spot on a list made up by 5 people for a game that has a smaller player player base than it ever has

-I don't understand why you would not be happy with #4, most people not on the list would be happy with #10.

-Complaining about someone being on the list when they are below you is honestly pretty stupid. When I remove Pinoy you will still be #4, if I were to remove AP0C you would still be #4. Accept the fact that you are #4 on this list and move on with your life. Calling yourself "King" and calling others trash will not get you higher up on any of MY lists. All that does is just lowers your standing with others, and in return, maybe even on lists. As for me, I think you are currently one of the best in the game but still have the worst attitude towards people in a video game.

Ok then please tell me the reasoning as to why im not on the #1 spot other than yall is hella jealous of me skills yo?
Any other player thats done what ive done would without a doubt be on the #1 spot

The King will make an official list of the best players sooner or later...you guys dont need to pay attention to this fake ass list anymore

How about I say why you are on the list first?

You are up there only because of your patience.

Everything else about your skill is limited. Holding attacks until opponents get bored, while effective, is an extremely cautious and easy to use tactic. That and mixing in a few feints here and there to keep an opponent engaged. The people above you use skill and mechanics, and incorporate holds.

Godfreid- Uses down feints to keep opponent engaged, will throw in a few up stabs to keep the opponent engaged, kills people with his stun chambers

AsianP- Similar to Godfreid in terms of stun chambers, but also is not afraid to kick and mix in some up holds with dolphins

RussianFury- Excellent in his feints. Mix it in with how he dolphins his bayonet and he is a dangerous offensive player. He also is not afraid to use kicks.

Maybe thats how they fought in the past, but not now. Godfreid just blocks and attacks, sometimes block chambers (from when I fight him)

AsianD just side steps and down attacks

Russian LUL and as for Bill, he doesn't just hold and wait people out... in the last 2 duel tourneys it was clear he feints. Thats about it, doesn't kick or chamber but to say he just holds... comon now.
Hes just making up shit as he goes along

I beat asian

I beat russian

Godfreid lost to a rusty jackiechan

I beat Jackiechan

Meh, I lost to JackieChan cause I underestimated him due to our last 2 ft7's and thinking he was rustier than he is (glancing also didn't help), which caused me to do stupid things I thought I could get away with. I'm not going to low ball you back, so please refrain from low balling me again.

Meh, if you think all I do is blocks and attacks then you're either dueling me when I'm not trying/on an off day, or not paying attention to how I duel.
Anyone who's ever dueled me seriously (ft7 or serious tournament) can pretty much confirm I spam block chambers/down feints + occasionally more elaborate feints.

I won't say he's the king, since he cannot beat me. However he is the best player tbh since he consistently wins tournaments and wins duels against people that are supposedly better than he is.

Just to weigh in here. A person's style has nothing to do with how they should be ranked on a list. The way you described RussianFury's style is exactly how I fight, so does that mean I should be tied for #1? No. The list should be based off of the players ability to kill others. As simple as that. If they are able to consistently kill more of the community than the other player then they are better.

And hes also full of shit about my style though as he alrdy knows. theres much more to my style than just holding lol...I bet I can still beat most of you without holding at all.

Just to weigh in here. A person's style has nothing to do with how they should be ranked on a list. The way you described RussianFury's style is exactly how I fight, so does that mean I should be tied for #1?

The argument is about how good a player is, mechanically and how they use those mechanics. Generally, that correlates with how good they are and how effective they are against other players

Let me explain it this way

I tend to view there being 3 types of styles in NW (in dueling, groupfighters have mercy) nowadays:

Aggressive - This style is a very risky style, and will use mechanics to outplay and kill the enemy very quickly. Fights between these players usually do not last very long, as the risks they take either net them the kill or get them killed. Alot of the "good duelists" like Maple, Jackie, Tammo and Cade will go here, along with people like Theodin. When fighting against them, you REALLY have to pay close attention to their movements and patterns or you will die very quickly.

Control - This style is almost the complete opposite and is about minimizing your risk. The way they fight is very basic and there is nothing flashy about it. They take much longer to pick up kills in duels than aggressive players do, but they are also more consistent. Alot of your "groupfighters" will go here, like PJ, Alexander, and of course Bill. When fighting against them, grab a coffee and hold the W-key and RMB down because you are in for a long one my friend.

Balanced - As their name suggests, balanced players are a mix of the two. While Aggressive players usually invest heavily into chambers and kicks, balanced players tend to take such risks in moderation. While Control players tend to focus on taking very few risks and avoid the risky kick/stun range, Balanced players tend to position themselves in that area quite frequently as they look for a quick kill. I see Myself, Godfreid, and Russianfury here. When fighting them, identify when they move in to stun range and catch them there or force them to fight at your rhythm and outlast them.

Really, the Aggressive and Balanced styles are the only ones that require any advanced understanding of the game.

If you don't believe me, here is a check list of what is required to effectively wield a Control style:

Spoiler
-The only footwork you need to worry about is avoiding Kick or Stun distance. You have literally no reason to be there because you are not aiming to finish the fight quickly by a flashy kick or stun block/chamber, you are aiming to outlast your opponent. S-keying will achieve this distance for you easily while you are on the defensive. While on the offensive, just watch your opponents movements and know your distances, basic stuff. If you are not confident in that area though, just hold down attacks as they discourage kicks.

-Above average blocking skills. One of the only weaknesses this style has is that it can be open to spam if the user is not alert, so as long as you can look out for spam and block it, as well as having enough blocking skill to deal with most feints, you are good in this department.

-Above average timing. One of the biggest weapons this style has vs. less skilled players is footlancing. As long as you keep moderate to long distance with your footwork as states above, you also control the ability to footlance in the fight. Your opponents will have to come to you to kill you, this gives you a lot of options and control of the timing to footlance, however that will be meaningless if you have poor timing.

-Average feinting. If you are even able to feint at an average level, feinting out of holds or even feinting out of a hold into another hold is incredibly effective, even more so than normal feints. The added pressure and unpredictability is usually enough to get around most opponents defenses.
[close]

I see it as a crutch of a style. As I said in that spoiler above, the only requisites to use it effectively is a good understanding of distance, a moderate understanding of timing, lots of patience, and no shame. I fully believe anyone in the top 20, not even just the top 10, could use it effectively if they so desired. The reason they don't is its just not fun at all. It is an anti-fun style. Nobody likes FT7ing these people, not because they'll lose, but because it literally just isn't worth the time. Get in teamspeak with anybody FT7ing these people and they will explain to you in detail exactly what brand of bleach they are going to drink the moment it is over.

When I am asked "Who are the top 10 best players in NA?", I don't just pull up tourny wins and see who has won the most. I think about WHY players are good, and HOW they won those tournaments. This is a consideration I don't think many are taking into account right now. If the only reason you can come up with for why a player is good is because he won tournaments, then he might not be as good as you think.

My style is very aggressive and for you to label me a as only a groupfighter when Ive won more duel tournaments and shit on you in duels is hilarous. I have many people tell me how good my feints and footwork are lol...All I did was chamber your ass last time we dueled maybe if you werent busy s keying like a coward you would have noticed hehe

Again you are nobody and I dont know why you seem to think your opinion is important, You might have a few people fooled but the people who are actually good in the community know you are a joke  :D :D :D

My melee style was always defensive, at a point it neutralized all styles.
Was boring for some people but always worked for me, still a style and very efficient.

I honestly dont know why people always complained about those passive styles, if you have problems fighting a guy then just change or adapt, not everyone will play as you want to.

I wish everyone has a nice week.

Well the thing is, there are around 500 people that play Mount & Blade NW Daily. There is roughly 7.5 billion people in the world (15 million times as many). That means around 0.0000000067% of the worlds population plays this game, making everyone's opinion here unimportant and a joke.

There are only 538 people in the electoral college that cast their vote every 4 years. There is roughly 318 million people in the USA (1/2 million times as many). That means around 0.0000017% of the USA's population decides the next president, making everyone's opinion who vote unimportant and a joke.

The question I ask myself is why are you even on these forums if you don't play the game anymore?

You're moment of "fame" was when you came back to lead a group of mercs for one game after being inactive for who knows how long just to be able to say you were able to win a tournament against a group of players that were on the edge of quitting for good, all for a small amount of money. Also, aside from Bill, you have one of the worst attitudes in the community, if you are even still in it lol, so I would like to ask you to stay off my thread.

And I don't need you to take the list seriously, just like how I've never taken you seriously.

Post here again and I will get a mod, and seeing what happened to Bill for shit posting here, I would be smart this time if I were you.

It means what it says

For example if I gave you 1st place you'd get like 10 points

If I gave you 10th place you'd get 1 point

Most points out of all lists get first

Get off your fucking high horse you mouth breathing faggot. The whole "don't post on my thread or I'll get Duuring to tell you to stop!!11!" bullshit is fucking stupid. Alex is by far one of the best in game, so saying leading a regiment of mercs is the only notable thing he's done is laughable.

Sorry, forgot this was my thread and I can decide who posts here.

I don't mind people posting here, but if they're here to instigate and shitpost, which are both against forum rules, I will not allow them to post here. And I never said that was the only notable thing he's done. I only said how he doesn't have to take the list seriously, which I don't think anyone does since its for a game that is dying. If anyone ever gets angry or mad on these forums/this game, then they seriously need a break.

I remember awhile ago Ted tried to make a serious thread in the off topic section, and when people started posting memes and stuff, Ted asked them to stop posting. During then posted something saying that you can't ban someone from a bread in the off topic section (not exact words but something like that). I'll see if I can find a quote.

Edit: it was killington not duuring

Quote from: Killington
To be clear, Ted, you can not simply order people away from a thread because you are the original poster. You may request that a poster leaves the thread of a regiment you lead, but this does not apply across the entire forum.

However, please keep the discussion somewhat serious and on topic.
so to sum up, as long as the post is on topic, then it is allowed

everyone is banned from posting on my bread.

if someone is not contributing in a meaningful way or their presence on the thread is such a negative factor, they can be asked not to post there.  meaning if their goal is just to instigate crap or post memes to annoy people, they can be asked to leave.  speaking generally, there is no need for one person or a group to derail a possibly good thread.  as this is the off topic boards, i personally try to be nice and let people be a little more free with what they post, even if it is a little off topic.( i would still recommend following the rules)

speaking generally, if someone is posting on topic, and posting in a non trolling but critical manner, i don't have a problem with them being in said thread.

at the end of the day, the OP can ask someone not to post there, but it's the mods decision to continue to allow them to post there or ban them from the thread.(and issue any necessary warnings)  i personally try to find the balance between what the OP wishes and what the person they want removed said or did that the OP wants them removed for.

Why is Maccle on the list? Has he ever won an ft7 to a good player? Do we not remember when Maccle was try harding and got dic on by the greatest NW player to touch this game?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LT9ggLoptiM

TFW lurvy forgets he lost to you in a ft7 and also says that you've never beat a good player meaning he's shit. TFW you have beat Cade in two ft7s recently and everyone thinks he's one of the best. TFW you beat RussianFury in a ft7 and he's #1 on the list. TFW lurvy has crippling autism.

damn what the heck, thats so scummy lol. I had consistent 89-100 ping the entire ft7 and you had been warming up for like an hour before hand where as I played a native match making as archer for 10 minutes before. And then you post on fse that you beat me in ft7, eluding that it was fair when in reality it was anything but. The only reason you beat me was because you took full advantage of my ping, you consistently double and triple spammed me because you knew it was hard for me to block. Scummy way to duel a person with high ping and even scummier to post about it on fse so that people think you are better than me when infact you're some ass who relies on gimmicks and taking advantage of other peoples misfortune to win.

Also, I don't quite understand your thinking. Why'd you take the duel if the results would be "unfair"? You're the one who wanted to duel, calling my place on the list in question (or so I've heard). If you can't take a loss, why play? There were many points where you could have said the ping doesn't matter- I was willing to switch servers, but you were the one who made us stay on public duel NA.

Moreover, the apparent "gimmicks" I used to "take advantage" of you is some weak ass fiction. I don't know about anyone else, but I can block with 80 ping. And my double/triple attack? Don't think you're special, literally everyone knows I spam. Don't think you're special because I used that against you- I use that in, again, literally, every duel. If you can't handle that, don't blame it on ping.

I played range against you because I was scared of your block chambers, which you seemed to be able to deploy with relative confidence, so don't claim that was me apparently taking advantage of your ping.

Anyways, I'm always down to reduel, as long as you promise to accept an L this time, if it comes to that.

I agreed to a friendly first to seven because to me they are fun, I didnt think he would post about it on fse afterwards. Anyway I dont want to talk about it anymore, thedoin has agreed to do another ft7 with me sometime when my ping is better.

You are one the most under rated players I have ever seen. If not the most. I am yet to play in a linebattle or see a linebattle where you have not contributed a significant amount. That is saying a lot considering for the majority of your time spent being competitive, played with the best the game has ever seen. I think you would be in the conversation for best linebattle meleers to ever play. In my top 5 for sure.

I've seen people be able to frag in linebattles like they were paid to do it but not be able to in groupfighting tournaments. I was just trying to be real specific since I haven't seen Russian in too many groupfighting tournaments (my fault of course)

You are gonna be so proud of your team

We are gonna start winning, we are gonna win so much. We are gonna win at every competition. We are gonna win in individual skill, we are gonna win with the groupfighting, we are gonna win with linebattles, we are gonna win with the captain match, we are gonna win with every single facet. We are gonna win so much you may even get TIRED of winning, and you'll say "Please, please, it's too much winning! We can't take it anymore! Mr. AP0C, it's too much!", and i'll say "No it isn't! We have to keep winning. We have to win MORE. We're gonna win MORE!". We are gonna win so much. So get out and vote for Team 2!

Yea I 100 percent feel that way too. There is no doubt the skill level has dropped drastically from even a few years ago. I can step in and win any tournament now, not bragging but i dont even play the game and I have won 4-5 tourneys this year. We just have to realize that these are the players that consistently play and that is why they are listed as the best as of right now.

Not really I literally played one tournament and got on this list lol. Really I don't even ft7 not really my interest as it used to be along time ago, well I never really was huge into them. But I see lists as pretty pointless, and causes drama that the NA community has never had a lack of. I'd actually prefer to be took off the list because ever since I've gotten onto this list, I get ft7 challenges a lot. When I don't really consider myself a "Guy trying to be on the list" or even at that play to make my epeen enlarge. I play the game for fun. For future reference please keep me out of all dueling/groupfighting lists. Id rather stay out of the mainstream shit.

Thanks! :)

I think this may be one of the few reasons why this game has perished. A lack of competition/competitive spirit in the game. I still care where I am in relation to others and im sure several others do as well.
I only care when people are saying that a certain few people are currently the best in NA, and I'm over here like "M8's even I can beat them, I can list off some better names for ya"

Hey question, Amit and Myself were going through the old NANWL threads and we are wondering does the NANWL that Tico ran count as a season of league?  And wouldn't that technically give the 12th a League 1 Title?
Title: Re: North American NW Lists/News - Created by a group of experienced NW players
Post by: Zzehth on January 14, 2017, 03:56:16 am
Season 1 was originally hosted by jackie, tico and me. But tico was inactive and jackie and I took over, then we closed his thread and created a new one, but still the same season.
Season 1 (tico, jackie, zzehth)
Season 2 ( jackie, zzehth)
Season 3 (jackie, zzehth)
Season 4 (jackie, zzehth)
Season 5 (karth, cheesey)

The 12th was moved to league 2 because we needed to fill a spot and won league 2.

Had around 3 regiments drop out of league 2 so instead of league 2 being boring with little to no matches we chose to drop down a league so it was more fun for everyone.

most of the better regs were in league 2 also, during that time placement wasn't based on a regs skill

1. 6teSLR
2. Nr8LG
3. 45e
4. 30th
5. 32e
6. 63e
7. USMC
8. Sil
9. 4th
10. AEF

That's just how I see it.

Fixed that for you. I recommend spectacles or contacts. Consult an optician.

Taking into consideration the NAPL results, 32e was the only regiment LG had a really good result against, maybe AEF also, LG drew vs USMC, lost to Sil, only barely beat 30th. LG also lost recently to 63e. So its alot closer than what you'd think.

I don't think there is a clear difference in terms of skill between 6eSLR/30th/63e as of right now. I don't see you guys being #1 cause of a single win over the LG which was only a 6-4. You guys also beat 32e 6-4 which the LG crush 9-1.

If anything you guys moved up in my eyes as I had 30th and 63e both above you.

Reminder we actually one 7-4 but ref didn't like the 2 ppl that fol so he reset

4th also just recently came back and have not been involved in any tournaments since then. Let them be around a bit and then we'll see

Also in terms of the whole 6te vs. Nr8LG, that is based off of one 1v1 which had poor reffing, on both sides, imo. Also while the Nr8LG has been near perfect in its group fights, the 6teSLR has been very inconsistent. Vice versa in the 1v1 department.

Regarding the 32e, 30th, and 45e, they are so close I would give them all the same spot but that is unrealistic.

The whole slaying for all chat thing, Swerp(one of our top players) was slayed for typing something as the round was starting. Meaning he started typing in dead chat, and hit enter as the round started, causing him to be slayed. A pretty dumb slay imo, along with that whole rule. Anyways, later in the round it came down to a very close melee encounter, where Swerp would have been most useful, and possibly had a different outcome to the round/match.

But no matter, group fight us.

How I see it. At this point I think the 45e and the 6te are even due to the 6te just starting to be a major player in the competetive scene with in the past month or so (which means they could still be unpredictable), and both of them are constantly growing and getting better so their skill almost has to be determined day by day.

I think LG has the best groupfighting seeing as that is what we are based around, 6te or 30th have the best lbing, 45e is all around good but mainly GFing focused like LG.

My opinion

Also it's hard to judge the 45e seeing as they weren't in NAPL

You mean season 6? I think most people picked 3eVolt, 54th (before it broke up) and 4th as the powerhouses. With 63e and Ody reg as the unknown. Season 6 had the most spread out skills. Everyone had good melee core.
ody reg was massacring everyone including the 3e 8-2. Also 1er gays came in later on.

The current top 5 regiments are currently in a toss up. This season of NANWL is definitely going to be interesting with no clearly stacked regiment.

(rawrxDxDxDxDxDxDxD)I actually didn't offer anybody NCO lol. Considering the fact that for the past 1 1/2 years NW has been the same recycled players in different regiments, asking other people in regiments isn't a big deal lol.
