Title: How do i change the Unit's name?

Dumb question if you wanna say..

But how do i change the Unit's name in Napoleonic Wars again?

For example changing the 33rd Regiment of Foot's name or some thing like that.

There is a file called troops.txt in your NW folder, you simply edit that one.

In the "troops.txt" file, look up whatever unit you wish to edit and rewrite only the part that shows up ingame. DON'T FORGET to have a backup of the original file and make sure you have the latest version of the game.

Use Ctrl+f to search your unit you want to change, simple it is.

but when i go to the module host a map and pick one of the sides as france the names havent changed how do i fix this?

You're editing the wrong troop names. I believe those are the custom battle AI names.. you're going to want to edit the ones like

A pretty obvious tip; but it is one that can be a life-saver:  If you're going to edit the troop names make sure to use underscores (_) in the place of spaces; for example, 85th (Bucks Volunteers) Regiment of Foot would become 85th_(Bucks Volunteers)_Regiment_of_Foot.  However, you needn't add them when putting in punctuation marks that aren't preceded/followed by a space(s).

Make sure you make a copy of your Napoleonic Wars folder first before you do this.. just incase ;)

This is confusing, theres only 1 folder called "troops.txt" or are they in that?

Warband>Modules>Napoleonic Wars>Troops.txt    you have all troop names in there.  You will have to scroll down to find the specific ones you have to choose.  Itss start off with the different unit type eg. Line inf, german line inf, arty .. etc  it will do this for all antions then after that you will have all the regiments listed per ranks too eg.  trp_british_highlander 42nd_Regiment_of_Foot_(Black_Watch) Line_Infantry   (these are the ones you want to change)   but as i said, make a copy of your whole napoleonic wars folder before you start :)
