Depends what you are looking for, I personally like lax regiments. This game over the year has gotten a bit repetitive, and the only thing that keeps it fun is the people within the game that I play and communicate with. So using PTS, or muting everyone regularly is rather boring.

Why can't we have both?

Because it's not possible, by taking the benefits of one, you contradict the other, thus you can not have both.

+1 As long as the officer is listened to in lbs and training then you can have fun and so on. The one thing that is never strict is arty and I like it that way, its a nice friendly environment, if it's not then why do you want to stay?

Yeah this is my kind of regiment. The one when outside of training and events everyone does their own thing and has fun, but once regimental events start everyone buckles down and follows orders.

well it is about what you feel like at the moment when i first got the game i thought it was nice to be in a more lax regiment until i  got the hang of the game and lines and all that stuff but after a while i got tired of regiments that i felt were not using my skill the best they could so i joined the 91st and really enjoyed my time there as it was nice to be in a regiment that used discipline to increase the skill of all of the players 10 fold. through this discipline they created a really nice competitive atmosphere that i think is perfect for more experienced players .

That's pretty much how we work. We take it easy outside of events (while still holding ourselves to somewhat of a standard), and then really hunker down for events.

That is more or less how my regiment works. I have a warning system, (3 warnings during one lb = demotion 4= a boot) given out for disobeying PTS, not doing what you are told to do, and general trolling. I try to be lenient as possible with these. In about two months only two people have received 3 warnings, and later left, nobody was sad that they left. XD

I think that there should be lax regiments for the more 'it's-just-a-game' sort of people, but for the people who want a more military sort of feeling, strictness is the way to go. For my guys, at least, if someone fucks up, I put on the ol' Smokey Bear and get to town. But that's just my regiment.

I have always said during my time as an officer in the old 28th and the 43rd, you can do whatever you like outside events as long as you listen and do what you must during events.

The whole idea of at least five people forming lines that lead to certain death and that you exert a considerable amount of control puts about any regiment higher than they think they are in the scale.
