So indeed the time has come to put an end to our adventure in the 55th "Westmoreland" Regiment of Foot. This is with sorrow in my heart and tears in my eyes that I'm, that we are disbanding and retiring this in my eyes Legend of a regiment, but also with relief and joy as it is undeniable that this was one heck of a ride, one to never forget.
On April 9th 2020 the 55th was indeed formed by our founder Anthony by an idea, a will, a longing. He was a bundle of energy and charisma able to drag others in and made from nothing something and even more. He laid the very foundation upon which all of us in the 55th continued to build after his early retirement. Quenouille and I took over the regiment, steaming down the path of NW focused on a mission in our own way with ups and downs as life goes and as every leader is different. Ultimately we reached part of this goal in the 11th Regimental Groupfighting Tournament on the 20th of June 2021. However, competition wasn't the only thing we took part in. Fun Mod events, Casual events, talk nights about whatever topic you can think about, watching videos and movies together, making Funny videos and educational videos all these things add up to what the 55th actually was. A Great community were laughs and joy resonated through the teamspeak.
Sadly the regiment came to an early end at November 9th 2021, due to going into a depression after some internal issues. Be as it may I will look back to these days as some of the most eventful and fun days in my gaming life. I signed up for it at the start when I first met Anthony and dam I did my best and I'm proud of what I, We achieved.
During my time in the 55th I learned tons of things be it ingame stuff, conversing, more personal or being a leader. Granted my run wasn't perfect but hell who wants it to be perfect, I'm happy with what I did, achieved and learned. A big bonus is that I met lots of new people, made tons of friends, endured pain and suffering with them but also enjoyed warmth and laughs during long nights and early mornings.
To every member that once upon a time served in the 55th, I thank you for your time and I thank you for your dedication and partaking in this community, in this adventure. These moments, adventures, memories will continue to be as vivid as they were on the day we made them when I look back.
As I'm slowly bringing my own journey in the NW scene to an end I'm not completely quitting yet, although I would love to, I'll stick around for a little while longer in a calmer sense.
It was worth every moment of my time! <3
<3 Hunteh / Quenouille / Anthony / and just all of you really <3
Sincerely
Rayleigh
