Lowboots is a problem in the hobby, all makers currently use two prongs hobnail, of course they fall out right away     Saving up for a pair from Czech or Germany. My Lowboots both have a huge hole in the heel. Didn't bother fixing them, not worth fixing it up. Yolo.

We were fighting the americans, so we knew we could sleep peacefully because Americans don't fight until 1pm because they need their McDonald fix first.

And it was half pit because those guys arrived like 8:30 pm, digging in the dark. They pretty much went like "Fuck it" when they realized the event ends next day though.

Either way, in regards to boots, sleeping without them is actually far better for you. The hobnails freeze and cause your feet to be cold. Wrapping them in more blankets doesn't actually do shit. The hobnails will still cause them temp in your feet to drop and cause hypothermia or frostbite. My first reenactment, it happened to me... So, I'm not speaking from my ass... I was also in a zelt, wrapped in three blankets, and sleeping in 20 degree night after it rained.
