About our company At the turn of the 19th century, the Danish infantry regiments were divided into two battalions, each containing four fusilier and one grenadier company. Originally, every fusilier company had a dozen chosen men to serve as sharpshooters; but in 1803, the regimental sharpshooters from all companies were merged into a company of their own - replacing one of the grenadier companies in each regiment - those were the light companies. We represent the Light Company (skirmishers) of the 3rd Jutlandic Infantry Regiment. The 3rd Jutlandic Infantry Regiment was part of the Danish Auxiliary Corps, raised in support of Napoleon following the French-Danish alliance that was a result of the British Bombardment of Copenhagen and the Swedish demands for Norway. The regiment was in the vanguard during the later half of the 1813 campaign in northern Germany - taking part in the battles of Bornhøved (http://www.oocities.org/pentagon/2083/bornhove.htm) and Sehested (http://www.oocities.org/pentagon/2083/sehested.htm) et. al. The French Marshal Davout was impressed by the Danish troops and said about them: "... I am just as pleased to bring them with me in battle as I would be to bring old French veterans". About us We're a bunch of adult, Danish, Mount&Blade and Napoleonic Wars veterans who've decided to form this little group with the desire to have a mature and friendly Danish environment - to play Napoleonic Wars, but also just in general to enjoy each other's company and play various games together. While we'll strive to participate in events regularly, we do not intend to bind our members to tight schedules, rather to encourage people to show up when they feel like it; as such, we require every member to understand (or quickly learn) the way our skirmish company works, to be able to understand and perform the duties of an NCO in our company, and to acquire the desired marksmanship skills on their own.
