The 33rd Regiment of Foot is proud to Host a One-off Historical Event, taking place on 9th November at 7:00gmt lasting until 8:30gmt. The Event will consist of 7 Rounds across 5 maps and will include Battle, Conquest and Siege rounds. Sign ups will be made on this forum however the final confirmation of attendance and the giving out of the password will be handled on steam, therefore it is essential that you Add [33rd]Kincaid on Steam!

The Battle of Waterloo was pivitol in everyway, shaping Europe for the next 100 years. Therefore to do the Battle as much justice as possible each round will represent a different key part of the battle, to better illustrate how events unfolded. Hats off also to the Preobraz for introducing this idea of multi-phase historic battles, hopefully we will see more of these!

Please note that this Event will be replacing our Wednesday Conquest Event for this date only, our usual Conquest will continue to take place after this date.

Event Stages:


Stage 1 - Defence of Hougoumont - Siege (10mins)

Normal Siege
At 11:30 Jerome's Division attacked the British right flank in force, intending to draw reserves from Wellingtons' Centre. Control of Hougoumont throughout the battle would be pivotal.

Stage 2 - D'erlons Attack - Battle (10mins)

D'erlon's Corps then begun it's major offensive on the British centre, attempting to break the Allied line in one swift blow.

Stage 3 - Charge of the Union Brigade - Battle (15mins)

With D'erlon's attack making progress, Wellington commits his Union and household heavy cavalry brigades under Uxbridge to stall their advance.

Stage 4 - Defence of La Haye Sainte - Siege (10mins)

Normal Siege
Like Hougoumont on the right, the defence of La Haye Sainte in the centre would prove decisive to the British defence. If captured Napoleon could use the farmhouse as an anchor from which to break Wellington's centre.

Stage 5 - Ney's Cavalry Charge - Battle (10mins)

Believing the British centre to be sufficiently weakened and mistaking the movement of wounded to the rear as full retreat, Marshal Ney commits the French Cavalry reserves to an all-out offensive.

Stage 6 - Struggle for Plancenoit - Conquest (15mins)

Whilst the main battle still raged the Prussians began to arrive, Bulow's corps arriving at Plancenoit behind the French positions. Napoleon dispatches his Young Guard to secure the town and delay the Prussian advance.

Stage 7 - Advance of the Imperial Guard - Battle (10mins)

In the wake of La Haye Saint's fall to the French and in a final effort to break the allied army under Wellington, Napoleon commits his Imperial Guard to the perilously frail British Centre.

Apologies for the proximity of this Event with the Preobraz's but this has been in the works for a few weeks so we'll run them in parallel - it looks like however that both are sufficiently different to offer an Event that is not exactly the same anyway.
