For The Fallen
« on: November 05, 2014, 01:02:03 am »
They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

They mingle not with their laughing comrades again;
They sit no more at familiar tables of home;
They have no lot in our labour of the day-time;
They sleep beyond England's foam.

Please support rememberance day on the 11th of this month.

Thank you.

Unfortunately Veteran's Day isn't as big here in the US as in other parts of the world. My Great-Grandfather fought in France in 1918 with the US Army. "Hear them calling you and me, every Son Of Liberty."

Shame you guys don't commemorate since it was kinda a big deal for the US (the whole getting into international affairs thing). Plus the Yanks who served did their bit regardless of when the US joined, so fair play to them!

That's why people aren't usually discussing what America did in the 1st WW, but if what they did was at all nessecary.
Probably one of the very few old-timers here who hasn't been a regimental leader.

War is never an answer. Support the troops, not the war.
