North American Groupfighting League

Introduction

The North American Groupfighting League is a continuous league with multiple seasons planned over the course of a year, each season is intended to last one month and be held on a bi-monthly basis, until the summer which will be a longer season. The league will also host various weekly tournaments during the off-months for any interested. The goal of the league is to provide continuous competitive events within the NA community.

If you're signing up a friend, please post a screenshot with their confirmation with it or have them message me.

23* sign ups so far, I'd like to have at least 35-40 before committing to hosting the league.

So people who want to play and view the thread, just sign up, otherwise it may end up not happening.

If we can get to 35 sign ups by the end of the week I'll be locking the thread and posting a proper one. Regular sign ups will be open there for 2 weeks for people who missed this portion, while the ingame stuff, leaderboards and draft get set up.

This thread's purpose is to gauge interest, give some general info about the league and answer any questions regarding the league.

Format & Core Rules

1: League type will likely be auction draft (rules for this tbd)
2: Team sizes and number are TBD depending on sign ups.
3: League will be split into 2 groups who will play eachother for playoff seeding.
4: Team in each group will play *twice (depending on number of teams)
5: Playoffs are the elimination stage, all teams make playoffs.
6: Matches are 4 maps, 12 rounds each map (total, not best of), no overtime for the first 3 maps, one 6 round OT on map 4 if needed (Regular Season Rule), FT5 2OT if needed (Playoffs only). Match winner is determined by total rounds won on each map, maps themselves are a seeding tie breaker, but have no impact on the match.
7: There is a 5 minute half-time after the 2nd map (Captain's discretion whether to use the whole 5 or not)
8: Scheduled matches have a 15 minute grace period by default (afterwards it is a forfeit).
9: Rounds are limited to 5m 30s, with the rounds starting automatically after 30s
10: Timeouts are 1 minute each, 5 Timeouts per match (used at captains discretion), 15 second automatic go after a timeout has ended.
11: Match days will be set to Friday & Saturday by default. Other days may be scheduled per captains discretions.
12: If schedule conflicts do not allow for a match to be played Friday or Saturday, the matches must be played at the earliest point afterwards with a hard deadline of Monday (no extension will be granted past Monday)
13: League Length is not intended to exceed 1 or 1.5 months

Other Goals

The league as stated is not intended to exceed 1 month, but it is intended to be hosted for multiple seasons throughout the year on a bi-monthly basis, with weekly tournaments being held during the interim months, with a longer Summer League being hosted at the end. Results from the leagues and tournaments will tracked (top 5 placements), leagues will also (hopefully) have a leaderboard, one which will be used on a season to season basis and the other one accumulative through out the year.
