The Fighting Pit - 5v5 Tournament

Welcome to the second edition of The Fighting Pit. After a bloody tournament where squads of three faced each other to claim glory and honours, the owners of the Pit have decided to re-open the doors of the arena. This time, we have made the splendid acquisition of hundred horses which we fully intend to put to use for the pleasure of our spectators. This edition will therefore be a cavalry-themed event but everyone is welcome to join, regardless of which community you come from.

The tournament will also take an essential part in helping seed the upcoming Fantasy League hosted by Skittles. For that reason, a special rule (which you can find down below in the appropriate section) will aim at limiting teams from a single regiment to partake together. We feel like these tournaments are good occasions to play with people you normally don't get the chance to due to belonging to different regiments, which is the aim of the Fantasy League and this, of this tournament.

Event Day: Friday 15th of January | 20:00 GMT | Sign-up Deadline: Thursday 14th of January | 23:30 GMT | Roster Deadline: Friday 15tht of January | 17:00 GMT

Format: The tournament matches will be played out in an 5v5 format, with a group stage followed by a knockout stage. The limit of participants is fixed to 12 teams for now.

Roster Rules - The roster limit is fixed to 7 players, with 5 players from the main line-up and 2 substitutes. - You don't need to specify who is part of the main line-up and who is a substitute while applying for the tournament as every player can be switched in-between rounds and matches, independently. - You roster can only consist of players part of the same regiment, up to 50% at max. Meaning if your team consists in 7 players, only three can be in the same regiment, no more. - Players have to be signed up with their community names. Roleplay names are tolerated so long as anyone can clearly identify the player(s) behind them. - A player can only be featured on one single roster. - Captains are required to sign-up all their players and themselves with a unique GUID. Teams which do not provide a roster with a unique GUID for each of their members won't be accepted for this tournament. Such GUID can be found on the Cavalry_Groupfighting server. - Captains can add players up to three hours before the start of the tournament. After that, the roster will be locked and no more changes will be accepted. [close] Match Rules - Group stage matches and Quarter Finals of the knockout stage will be FT5. Semi-finals and bronze match will be FT5. Grand-final will be FT7. - Every player has to play with the name they have been signed-up as. Variations can be allowed, as long as we can still identify who you are. - Every player has to wear the tag of their team. - Players which are part of the same team may not use identical in-game faces. - You may only spawn in once your team's name is called. - You may only enter the arena if you are playing. - Substitutes can spawn in but will be expected to obey by the rules and not disturb the on-going matches. - Captains are expected to type 'R' or 'Ready' in the chat before every round so that the referee can make the round go 'live'. - Hussar is the only class allowed. - The sword is the only weapon allowed. - Melee speed will be on medium. The important info to remember if you can't be arsed reading all the rules before signing up is this one:

- You roster can only consist of players part of the same regiment, up to 50% at max. Meaning if your team consists in 7 players, only three can be in the same regiment, no more.

Worth adding for infantrymen willing to sign-up, if you don't have an active cavalry regiment, the roster rule doesn't apply to your team. It's only a limitation for the members of the cavalry community.

So let's say Rikkert wants to create a merry band of cretins from the 15thYR and have them partake in that event, they can all partake under the same team, so long as all of them are not active in the same cavalry regiment at the same time.

I don't know in which regiments your players are but just re-quoting this in case you missed it:

This is no typical 5v5 cavalry gf tournament, this aims at mixing-up teams and prepare players for the upcoming Fantasy League where every one will be put into a common pool and drafted by captains (so you won't get to play with your regimental mates necessarily). Sorry about the inconvenience if you guys all wanted to play together, I will try to host a more regular tournament later in the year.
