NWWC 2020 | Closing thoughts, thank yous, congratulations and TOTY

I would like to finally officially close NWWC2020.

This was probably the biggest NWWC by the number of teams (if we take multiple teams per nation into account). It was not the best NWWC in terms of competition and it was most likely not the best NWWC in terms of administration, however, I hope that people will remember it as an honest attempt at bringing, possibly the last, NWWC to the best quality possible, despite some questionable decisions from my side, such as not really well-thought-out brackets, as well as some of the punishments. It's also a shame that statistics didn't really work out.

On that note, I would like to take this moment to thank everybody who put effort, big or little, into this tournament to make it a success. Most importantly, I would like to thank my fellow co-hosts Wursti and Shadey, there were moments where I wanted to kill myself because of one or the other, but at the end, I think you both did a good job in my eyes, as well as my advisors Herishey and Fwuffy. Thank you to all referees as well, especially Rikkert, Saphyro, and Crusher, who I'm pretty sure reffed most of the matches. Thank you to all the casters and everyone who helped capture most of the matches on video.
Without you, I would not have been able to successfully run this tournament at all.

Secondly, I would like to say a huge thank you to all the people who provided servers for NWWC2020. Bullez, Freestyler, Bob, Wursti and Oasis Hosting. Even though there were issues sometimes, these still were one of the best servers I have ever played on.

I would also like to thank Skaen and Shadey for beautiful, original graphics. Thank you to Python for the updated map as well.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone who participated, I sincerely hope you all enjoyed this year's edition under my direction.




Congratulations to England (ENG1), who once again proved that at this stage of the game, they have the most dominant player base.

Congratulations to France (FRA2), who despite being initially seen as the weaker roster, made a huge statement and finished second.

Congratulations to Poland (POL1), who showed that even an underdog nation can make huge results and finish at a great, third place.

Congratulations to England for winning the tournament, closing it out in such a dominating fashion. Thanks to Kore and his admin team for hosting yet another edition of the NWWC. Though it's true some of the decisions and way to handle people were not always on point, it's never easy to carry on such competition from start to finish and yet you managed it. I particularly appreciated the competition's ending, from the quarter-finals onward, the level displayed by most teams was impressive and players really stepped it up in order to get through the finish line. Was also happy I got to cast a couple of match with Syrcrim despite an ever busy schedule.
