Tournament Rules Spoiler --- General Match Rules --- 1. All matches will be played in a best of 30 format. 2. All matchweeks will consist of 7 days. 3. No normal extensions will be given, unless the team has been granted permission before the start of the cup. 4. There will only be 1 roster swap allowed throughout the duration of the cup. 5. No emergency subs will be allowed. 6. Every match has to be recorded and can only be played on the official servers provided. --- League Rules and Point allocation --- 7. Points will be awarded for matches in this format, with a win worth 3 points, a tie worth 1 point, and a loss worth 0 points. 8. A match round must start within 90 seconds. If 90 seconds have passed, the referee has the option to force the round to start. 9. One pause can be requested per team. This pause has a 90 second duration from the moment it is called. 10. If one team fails to plan a match during their matchweek (proved with evidence from the captain), then the team at fault will be deducted 2 points. 11. At the end, the bottom 3 teams of league 1 and the top 3 teams of league 2 will play 1 match for promotion or relegation. --- Tournament --- 12. The tournament format will be announced soon. 13. The tournament placement points will be allocated as such; 1st giving 5 points, 2nd place giving 2 points, 3rd place giving 1 point. --- STATS ----- 14. Statistics will be tracked. 15. The referee will decide on the match MVP and also provide a screenshot. 16. At the end of the cup, there will be a regular season MVP and a tournament finals MVP. —- NEW RULES —- 17. Every match has to be recorded (Doesn’t have to be from both sides, 1 recording is fine. The referee can also record). 18. Referee can ask 2/3 people per team to provide a screenshot of their game at that current time in the match. If a player is caught using any modifications that give any benefit in game, their team will receive a punishment. Also if providing a screenshot takes longer than 2minutes the team will lose the round. 19. A team gets 10 minutes after the starttime of the match to get on the server. If a team fails to do so they have to play with everyone that currently is on the server from their respected team or forfeit the match 30-0. 20. Everyone has to wear the name they signedup as. Providing a screenshot or recording is enough. If you can’t screenshot for any reason then record the whole match and upload it asap.
Any modifications such as e.g colored muskets, healthbars, zoom mod, names of opponent etc are banned.

I talked to Movement and convinced him to change it so that 1st place is weighted more, otherwise if I lose 1 match in the ladder (which in theory should mean less) because of ladder matches being progressively harder (that means two 3 - 0 will have to go against eachother etc.) If the points were closer, let's assume 1st is 5 points, second is 4 points, because you lost 3 points from one ladder match, even if you came first in the tournament, you'd still lose to the second place who won all their ladder matches. This basically means that the group matches would mean more than the tournament, when they almost certainly shouldn't.
3 - 1 groups points = 9p
4 - 0 group points = 12p
Let's assume these are the values you're suggesting:
1st in tournament = 5p
2nd in tournament = 4p
third in tournament = 3p
Now let's do matchups:
the two 4 - 0 teams get third and second place: 16p & 15p
the one 3 - 1 team gets first place: 14p
So even though you won the tournament, because you lost one match in the ladder, you come third in the cup? The good thing about having 5p for first and 2p for second is that if that second place team won all their group matches it'll then be the tiebreaker with the possible 3 - 1 team who won the tournament (which can easily happen given matchups). It also gives the third place team to fight for second place
The numbers I wrote were speculative suggestions. You are typing about how the final tournament should be weighted more than a single match week, but the current system makes the final tournament irrelevant (worth 0 points) for 9 teams and worth almost nothing for a further 2. First place should be worth a lot in the final tournament, but so should 2nd, 3rd, 4th etc.
I agree that a 3-1 team that win the final tournament should come up above a 3-0 team that get second, but right now the tournament means nothing for anything other than that specific scenario. Getting 2nd or 3rd is irrelevant unless the concerned teams are equal on points (unlikely in a 3 week league).
should've just done groups then knockouts :-\Both of your points are valid, the main idea for this cup was to have this last for 6-9 weeks with placements which would make the tournament be more valued, but since majority of the captains did not want anything longer than 4 weeks made this the final outcome. The 5 points that are given to the first place of the tournament are purely there to make a 3-1 also win the cup.

I mean a 4 week league never made sense in the first place as seedings would be off, evident now in the bracket. Being first seeded, should in theory offer an easier group, but because it was only 4 weeks, we now get punished because other teams aren't seeded correctly.
Both of your points are valid, the main idea for this cup was to have this last for 6-9 weeks with placements which would make the tournament be more valued, but since majority of the captains did not want anything longer than 4 weeks made this the final outcome.

Same example which I stated earlier. Renaissance in my honest opinion was for me the more favorite in the match versus Kamikaze. But with them losing by a large amount made it so you guys went down 2 spots
PS: The bracket is how challonge works, I can’t edit that. Currently asking the mods and we will swap 1st in group C to the upper side and swap one from the upper side down
Making groups based on standings is fine. But you realize you did it the wrong way?I don’t even mind changing the bracket to this. But that simply means that RT & Cocotouch just switch groups. Which still means that there is 1 hard group and 2 easier groups due to underperformance from some teams

Let's say you have 3 groups and 4 tiers (since 4 teams are in groups). You just took basically 4 best teams from each tier and put them in one group. It means that being the worst team in the tournament gives you an easier bracket which shouldn't be right, cause you said yourself that the swiss system would affect standings and the better team does more easier bracket should have.
Making groups based on standings is fine. But you realize you did it the wrong way?I don’t even mind changing the bracket to this. But that simply means that RT & Cocotouch just switch groups. Which still means that there is 1 hard group and 2 easier groups due to underperformance from some teams

Let's say you have 3 groups and 4 tiers (since 4 teams are in groups). You just took basically 4 best teams from each tier and put them in one group. It means that being the worst team in the tournament gives you an easier bracket which shouldn't be right, cause you said yourself that the swiss system would affect standings and the better team does more easier bracket should have.
