Shireen burning not in the books. Wonder if that will be in a future novel since its a pretty major plot twist for Stannis' character

Well yeah when I first heard about it, I decided to not read the books until the series are done. It is saving me a lot of hassle.

That way I can enjoy both the book and the movies. Its great.

Show was based on the books so obviously people should compare them. As for being disappointed, much of the reason people want a TV adaptation of something is so that they can portray what they were reading in a visual format. So people will be disappointed when the visual format is not to their standards. This isn't true for all cases but this is true for most.

Some changes are good, others are bad. Most of the changes in season 5 have so far been terrible, in previous seasons they made plenty of good calls on what to include and what not to. I'm not disappointed, just annoyed that they've decided to go on some dumb gore-fest, seemingly at the expense of the storyline and everything else that made the show good.

What if they're making this season not as good as the others on purpose.
Think about you have had four seasons where expectations keep growing and growing and it gets to the point where it becomes hard to keep growing the expectations.
By having one season where a lot of it is bad people expectations will lower which means that the next few seasons people will be surprised at how good it becomes.

According to some sources there's going to be a reveal for the Winds of Winter release date at the end of the next episode. Get hype.
