The 8e Régiment de Hussards is a new made french and english-speaking regiment which objective is to be a trainer regiment. So the skill isn't an obstacle to your enrollment if you fill in the recruitment conditions underquote. However, people joining the 8e Régiment de Hussards must prepare themselves to a rude training which will be long, but not useless at all. On a personal point of vue you will benefit of experience of veteran horsemen that prooved their skill many times on Napoleonic Wars. On a groupe point of vue our objective is to get a place into the community and, forward, to organize our own regular events. Our members must show a real implication without forgetting the most important thing in a game : having fun. We want to play, but also bring challenge.
For this we rely on our veteran members's fighting and leading experience, who must teach their knowledge to those who want to learn. We made a personal training system permitting to every regiment's recruit to benefit from a learning from the veteran horsemen. However, recruits will not be trained by only one experimented guy, to completely master the fighting art, to benefit of different points of vue and techniques, every recruit will be trained by EVERY trainer. The goal is to reach around 10 hours of training with every trainer. As we said before, the training will not be easy, recruits will have to be motivated !
We mainly concentrate ourselves on horse fighting, however the riding art isn't our only objective. We think that a good horseman must also master infantry fighting, so we also participate sometimes to infantry linebattles and our personal training system allows our recruits an infantry training too. A weekly training concerning the entire regiment is also set for the teamplay aspects and linebattle behaviours.
A good atmosphere is really important for us. It's necessary for a good cohesion so we want to preserve it. So we're pretty selective concerning our recruitment, thanks to a talk and a four weeks' test period as a conscrit. We can teach you to slash your enemies, but we can't teach you a good behaviour. If you have some, you can make yourself new friends on Mount & Blade Warband and maybe other games, you'll benefit of our forum and our Teamspeak server to discuss. Highlights
Created on the 1st October 1792, the « Régiment des éclaireurs de Fabrefonds » took the name of « 8e Régiment de Hussards » on the 4th June 1793. From 1793, the regiment will illustrate itself on French's Revolution's first battlefields.
After a short rest in Vendée, the 8e RDH joined the Army of the North where illustrated himself Captain Marulaz.
Marulaz is the Regiment's hero. He's also a hero in French's cavalry. He was Captain, Squad Leader then Colonel of the 8e RDH, he led the regiment during seven years before being upgraded Brigade General, and then, Division's General. He got hurt 19 times and 26 horses died under him.
In the Holland's army, 8e RDH took an important place in the Holland's fleet's capture at Texel.
In Rhine and Moselle army, 8e RDH participated to every battles and did a lot of scouting which are considered as legendary facts (Huning's bridge, 1796).
In 1797, at Offenbourg, Captain Becker and ten hussars defeated an entire Uhlan's battalion, took the commander as prisonner, and then, hustled an Austrian's heavy cavalry's regiment.
In 1799, in Danube's Army, the regiment attacked an Austrian camp during the night, bringing chaos to the ennemy.

 | At dawn, the hussars, which horses' shoes were wrapped in linen to avoid slides, took sharpshooters hipped, going through the frozen dunes next to the sea between Texel island and Helder's port. They commanded to sailors to surrender.
After negotiations, the fleet surrenders with no conditions, on the 23rd January 1795. Fourteen line ships, some merchant's ships and four hundred ans fifty cannons were captured, so did a Brittish ship, which tried to flee.

From Stokach to Austerlitz
In 1800, in the Rhine Army, the regiment illustrates itself on Stokach's battle, where it made 4 000 prisonners including an Austrian colonel, taken by the hussard Fontanier. Stokach figures on 8e RDH's banner.
Still in the Victorious Army, on the 19th of June, the regiment went through the Danube by swim. Then the Isar and by an impressive scouting of the Marechal Squad, took a bridge that the ennemy was going to burn. On the 14th of December, 8e RDH went through the Saale by swin.
The war restarts in Central Europe in 1805, 8e RDH is, at the beginning, at the Army's avant-garde, then on a flank. On the 2nd December 1805, 8e RDH took an important part in Austerlitz's battle where it disarmed 3000 Russians.
Hunting the Russian Army, Colonel Franceschi, leading the regiment which had only 120 horsemen left, took the Russian General and forced him to surrender. He surrendered.
4 Generals, 2 Colonels, 60 officers and 2 500 russians surrendered to 120 hussars.
