The devs have been making posts on their forums, the game is not even close to being dead, they just are working on a lot of 'under the hood' coding related stuff that can't really be shown. Their next update will cover features and mechanics shown in-game; I don't know if that means more screenshots or some footage but its coming.

Sadly the images are renders, not in game, those nice animations in the renders are not the ones you will be using. Sad truth, I just hope mechanics are nice and smooth.
