Spoiler
In the first matches of the Play-Offs in Round 1, we saw NSS vs Legends and CCCP vs Snappers. NSS and Legends was a very one sided affair in which Legends showed complete and utter domination in a 7-1 victory, NSS really missed the presence of Fietta and Cody which may have helped any potential thoughts of a underdog story. In the Snappers vs CCCP match, we saw a back and forth match until the middle rounds where snappers started to have a 2 round lead which took them to the brink of victory, then CCCP pulled it back to 5-6 but unluckily couldn't quite make it with Snappers advancing witha 7-5 win.
In the next Round, we see Snappers progress to fight ENIGMA and Legends progress to fight Virgins. In the ENIGMA vs Snappers match, it was a unpredictable German domination. Unlike the 7v7 in which Snappers beat ENIGMA, ENGIMA absolutely destroyed Snappers 10-3 in a very quick Round 2 match. In the other match, Legends took on the 3rd seed Virgins, Virgins was consistent all season but suffered some absents which hindered the performance on the day, still though, Legends also destroyed then 10-2 which is very surpising considering the high skill still possessed by Virgins this season.
In the Semi-Finals, all matches from this point on guranteed a piece of the prize pool and this is a good test of mental toughness and in game skill and cohesion as a team. We see ENIGMA take on Amaterasu and in the other match, Poosy take on Legends. In the ENIGMA vs Amaterasu match, it was predicted to be a close but comfortable encounter for Amaterasu, and this is what it turned out to be with Amaterasu winning 10-6 to take a spot in the final, ENIGMA showed great skills to progress this far after a poor season and they will be happy with a guranteed top 4 finish as of this point in the Play-Off Final. In the other Semi-Final we see Poosy vs Legends, this is by far the most anticipated match-up, as whichever team wins goes on to play vs Amaterasu in the grand final. This match was back and forth with Poosy taking a early lead, but mid round throwing and rustyness to key players probably was the difference in which Legends ended up taking a deserved 10-7 win.
Now in the Final and the Bronze match we see Amaterasu vs Legends in the final, and Poosy vs ENIGMA in the Bronze match. In the Bronze match, we see a VERY surpising outcome with ENIGMA beating Poosy very badly for most of the match with only a late revival from Poosy causing them to retain some dignity and only end up losing 10-7. Lack of motivation after losing to Legends led key players in the team to take no care or effort in the Bronze and rightfully got beaten by a inform, worthy and tryharding ENIGMA. In the Final where a total of 800 euros was on the line for 1st and 2nd place, we saw Legends and Amaterasu face off in a expected tense final, especially after the 7v7 final in which it was a very close 10-8 final which Legends even missed Elsse in. This final however was not to be the case... It was the joint biggest win margin in the tournament and Amaterasu completely and utterly destroyed Legends. This is probably down to the ingame leading from Drake, being sub par, causing alot of mistakes and poor lineups in which generated poor cohesion and results ulitmately. This final was the moral outcome after such a dominant season by Amaterasu which will go down in EGS history for sure.
Big thank you to everyone who played and made this season such a success! The following is the winnings for each of the 4 teams: 1st: Amaterasu €550 , 2nd: Legends €250, 3rd: ENIGMA €125 and 4th: Poosy €75.
