Four score and 40 months ago (which is really another two scores) some English ex-Royal Army/ex-Royal Navy bloke who broke his back, and a guy from Ohio brought forward in this toxic community a new regiment.
This weekend the 87th is celebrating their 10th regimental anniversary! Yes I know, we absolutely have no life and a normal person would declare us brain damaged to stay in this nuthouse of a community for a decade. And you are absolutely right, I mean 10 years of NW does leave a mark on the soul and sanity, there is not a single man or woman in the 87th that does not have some eye twitching going on at this point.
Over the years the 87th took many shapes and forms (and drugs and booze) and seen a lot of people that came and went. Those that went can go fuck themselves, yes Jamison you as well, jk just busting your balls a bit, love you bb
What remains is what we always were really, and that is a bunch of good friends and old cranky cynical retired farts that enjoy their occasional doses of NW.
We don't really take it all too seriously anymore, our 'glory' days if we ever had any have long passed by. We just keep it going because tradition and we get the occasional good laughs. And as said before we are bunch of good old friends that still, for some twisted reason, enjoy the game and each others company. Now be nice to us show some respect to your elders and wish us a happy b-day you toxic fucks.
