What would the army today look like, if rifling was never invented? Imagine all the types of guns we have nowadays, but without rifling. I wonder how it would affect tactics.
Ive given this some thought... I belive the Implementation of rifiling was inevitable, as the stabilisation of flying objects via rotation has long been established knowledge. IE feathers on bows, or more recently, a Football (the real one, to muggles known as hand egg)
Have you looked Into the different types of rifiling there are? Like polygon or the enfield pattern rifiling? Pretty interesting as well.
