About us

The "Eliteteam" is an old german clan, that offers many games and modifications for their members to play. Since 2012 the maingame of the Clan is Napoleonic Wars. 2012 the "Kaiserliche Heer"(Imperial Army) was founded. While this North and South regiment mainly aims to give those members a plattform to play North and South, it is open to anyone who can speak german.
The commando-language is german.

Historic Justification

While in the united states the civil war was ongoing, french Emperor Napoleon III. invaded Mexico. In 1864, one year before the end of the american civil war, Ferdinand Maximilian Joseph, the brother of the austrian Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria, was proclaimed the new Emperor of Mexico. In the same year the Volunteer Corps was founded in Austria and shipped to Mexico. They swore allegiance to the mexican Emperor and to the mexican flag.
This all falls into the end of the war of secession, while the modification of North and South aims for the display of the First Mannassas. Also it is very unrealistic the corps would have intervened into the war. However this is the most historic proximity for an austrian foreign intervention into the american civil war.
History shows us, that the Emperor of Mexico would have had a well interest in helping the confederates to win the war, or at least hold out as long as possible, as after the civil war it was mainly the support of the northern states for the mexican rebels, combined with the political pressure onto france to withdraw their troops, which lead to the destruction of the Empire and the death of the Emperor
