Personally, it would be really hard for me to cut meat out of my diet. I eat so much meat that I actually plan out what meat I'm eating in the coming days. Tomorrow, I am eating an 8oz sirloin, asparagus, and Canadian bacon.
You have lower cholesterol and shizz with being a vegetarian, but you also lack many vitamins and my favorite thing: protein!
If you just want to lose weight, do what I do: high-protein, <20g carbs, and 0g sugar daily.
Sometimes you can find sugar in random things though, for example, I'm eating peanuts right now that contain 1g per 39 nuts.
I can eat veggies with low carbs as well. So if you like the taste of vegetables, go for it.
