Prelude Event

The date is July 18th, 1913.

The Balkan Wars have just ended, with a Balkan League victory over Bulgaria and the Ottoman Empire. The Bulgarians, surrounded by enemies, have concluded peace with Romania, Serbia, Greece and the Ottoman Empire, ceding lands to their respective nations. The boiling cauldron that is the Balkan Region has been topped, for now...

The Great Powers breathe easy once again now that the conflicts in the Balkans have finally cooled down. In the East, Russia, having suffered a humiliating defeat at the hands of the upstart nation Japan, have begun modernizing their military and reaffirming their influence in the Balkans. A scarred and traumatised Ottoman Empire reels from the shocking defeats from the seemingly weak Balkan Nations, and have recently undergone massive revolutions by the Young Turks. They watch with sorrow, and memories of what once was.

In Western Europe, Germany continues to grow its army and navy, worrying the proud British with the thought of them possibly losing naval supremacy. In France, Revanchist sentiment grows throughout the hearts and minds of the disgraced Frenchmen, still bitter over the loss handed to them by the new German Empire during the Franco-Prussian War.

In Central Europe, the Austro-Hungarian empire looks to reassert its influence in the Balkans, while a new Kingdom of Italy looks to the Mediterranean for expansion.

All is quiet in Europe, for now.

The Balkan Wars have ended: Greco-Romanian-Serbian Victory!
(Austria-Hungary, Montenegro, Denmark, Luxembourg, Netherlands, and Spain are still open to those who wish to join. Reminder that Bold is for actions, and Italics are for dialogue/everything else.

Please do not take military actions yet, this is just to warm up.)

"Unus pro omnibus, omnes pro uno"

The Swiss Government begins a moderated expansion of Swiss industry

Events in Europe have put Switzerland in a difficult position. To our East are The Center Powers and to our West The Triple Entente. Switzerland is deeply worried for our nation's sovereignty. The government is yet to forum a decisive choice on where to invest Swiss interests. Some 60% of our population speak German whilst some 20% speak French and 8% Italian. The government will have to tread carefully for our national decisions. For now though, the language used by the government shale remain, as it always as, French for diplomatic reasons.

Kingdom of Greece

Invest in Industry & Civil improvements. Begins researching on Economy & Military advancements
Our economy is too low to really support anything of much value therefore, whatever economy we have will go into investment and research to gain more profit. There is nothing like barely achieving but, there is striving to reach higher.
Sends Military advisor to Ethopia
In hopes of better relations and further interaction between our Great Nations.
Accepts the gifts from Bulgaria
Accepting the gift from Bulgaria with great respect and in return offers them a crate of the finest fish available in Greece. There is no reason to harbor hostilities what's done is done we have had our war.
Reopens Embassy in Bulgaria & Sends an eager ambassador
Disbands conscripted army and raises Volunteers
All in the effort to lighten expenses and since we are in peacetime our professionals are not needed. Besides the most intelligent and distinguished soldiers/officers will be offered promotions and tax breaks. This will hopefully persuade some to stay so the experience does not completely fade away.

OOC: Is that good?

Romania does like its neighbour Greece and starts researching on economy to recover from the Balkan War. Romania also starts researching better military technology, a new country must be able to defend itself.

Shqipëri

As the Country frees from its shackles from a country that had ruled it for over 500 years; it has much to be done.

Under the Albanian Constitution, The Religions of Orthodox (of any Nationality), Catholicism, Bektashi and Sunni Islam all have protection and will be treated as Normal Albanian citizens.

While Civilians will be allow to keep their traditions, it will enact an act paying families a very small fee to teach kids from the ages of 7-11 about Albanian History and its heroes.

Disbands the use of a conscript army and allows a free volunteer army in which allows any nationality to join.

I hate it when people pass me a cup by holding on to the rim of it...
