Claimed & Up and Running.
*W.I.P* -More To Come Later this week-
History Of The Army

The Army of the Potomac was the primary Union fighting force in the Eastern Theater of the American Civil War (1861–1865). Known as "Mr. Lincoln's Army" for its close association with the sitting United States president, its dual mission was to defeat the Confederate Army of Northern Virginia and to safeguard Washington, D.C. Formed in the aftermath of the debacle at First Manassas (1861), the army survived a succession of flawed commanders and battlefield reverses to attain final victory. In the spring of 1862, during the mismanaged Peninsula Campaign, the Army of the Potomac failed to capture the Confederate capital at Richmond. That summer some of its components met defeat in the Second Manassas Campaign. Although it blunted Robert E. Lee's September 1862 invasion of Maryland, it gained only a tactical draw against the smaller but superbly led Confederate army. Three months later the army suffered horrific losses at Fredericksburg, and the following May it was routed by Lee at Chancellorsville. In July 1863, however, it gained a critical victory at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, ending Lee's second invasion of the North. Beginning early in May 1864, the army methodically advanced against Richmond and equally strategic Petersburg, suffering heavy losses at every turn. Compelled to besiege both cities, the Army of the Potomac eventually forced their evacuation and Lee's retreat. As a result, on April 9, 1865, realizing that he had been overtaken, Lee surrendered to Ulysses S. Grant at Appomattox, effectively ending the war.

It was interesting having a look at your TS. I see you've taken great inspiration from the UA format :P

While our layout is somewhat similar we decided against sharps, arty, line, and Cav ranks being seperate  and have one solid structure to our rank.

-Edit-
Also, forgot to note that our event rules are slightly more scaled for smaller regiments as well. so as long as you're 3 - 4 strong you can get pretty much any specialty you'd like which we'd hoped might be more fair for everyone involved in future events with the army

Think he was more one about the structure of the TS being the exact same as the UA one >.> <.<

Bump- Recruitment is slow, Dealing with another group trying to use our name, Sorry for the slow return gents, Hope to be up and running in a month or so depending on how things pan out,

Topics Of Intrest For Any Reading

* False / Persons Attempting to claim the army- https://steamcommunity.com/groups/TheAoP
This steam group and all within it are False claim to this army, and as such have no right to use this name nor any of the brigades claimed within

* The AoP Will be restructured as a single brigade starting off this time, As to make it easier on the lads and the command staff as a whole.

* The End-game goal with the army this time around is to maintain a friendly place of non conflicting issue, The possibility of events once more being hosted is entirely on the table, However with that said i'd very much so like to clear this up with Chamberlain, Formerly Brig-gen of iron brigade In the AoP and his attempt to claim the name in somewhat of a spiteful, Uncooperative manner.

*Anyone with questions, Issues, Or otherwise important concerns can Get ahold of me via my steam, Or the forums here. Or on the teamspeak i shall be setting up above, Within reason to that i would like invite all of you in a sense of friendship to come and be part of our events once they've returned

*And finally, If anyone wish's to join our army, as either their own brigade *If you have the numbers* Or Simply as a regiment as a whole, But on that note i'm going to sign off on this post and get back to work on the teamspeak and the recruitment drive. Hope to see you boys on the field!
