Introduction

The 21st Lancaster Horse Artillery is a detachment based off the King’s Own Lancaster Regiment. The LHA focuses on discipline, pride, and fun. We understand that being Artillery can seem boring, however; being apart of an Artillery detachment requires patience from both the battery and the Guards. Being apart of Artillery also requires discipline; it is of the utmost importance that both sub-detachments, especially the Guards, are able to keep control off themselves and insure that they do not disturb other regiments. Therefore, we as officers, will insure that the men are entertained during the battle as well as disciplined so that they do not become restless and are able to keep their pride. Furthermore, we would like to inform other regiments that we are interested in merging into their regiment if they require an Artillery detachment. We are also interested in doing mainly NA events.

History

The King’s own Lancaster Regiment was sent to Portugal in August 1808 for service in the Napoleonic Wars and fought under General Sir John Moore at the Battle of Corunna in January 1809, before being evacuated to England later that month. It returned to the Peninsula in October 1810 where it fought at the Siege of Badajoz in March 1812, the Battle of Salamanca in July 1812 and the Battle of Vitoria in June 1813 as well as the Siege of San Sebastián in September 1813. It then pursued the French Army into France and saw action at the Battle of the Nivelle in November 1813 and at the Battle of the Nive in December 1813.
