Well, E3 has shown up. The trailer looks cool, but we know how it is. Then there is the uniforms the "royalists" use, they are blue.... wat....

Yep. Hopefully they'll have an explanation for that which isn't "DURR OH WELL IT'S JUST A GAME SO WE DON'T HAVE TO BE HISTORICALLY ACCURATE".  I hope it was just a mistake in their research and not a conscious decision... Because there's really no reason for them to have it that way.

Set amidst the chaos of 18th Century France, Assassin's Creed Unity tells the story of Arno and the Brotherhood of Assassins as they struggle to uncover the dark forces manipulating the of the French Revolution.

Take to the streets, the rooftops, and the catacombs beneath the city alone or with up to three friends in the brand new co-op mode to make history and leave your mark on the French Revolution.

Badass.

This co-op looks amazing!

I think it's the  late revolution, the reign of terror.

About those uniforms, I'm pretty sure those blue lads are revolutionary infantry i.e after the king was deposed.

Then Why the hell am I fighting the revolutionary army?! Aswell, it says it's in the Revolutionary war 1789... So what are the uniforms? Revolutionary troops were still wearing rags...

Not to be a dick but it is a game about two secret orders who fight each other with parkour for centuries and the only reason any major historical events happen is because of the two orders...I think historical accurate uniforms and reality can be forgotten about for a brief moment

I thought so as well but I'm pretty sure the storming of the Bastille was depicted in one of the trailers.

If that is suppose to be the Storming of the Bastille, then it is an incredibly poor representation of it, not just due to the uniforms. I had hopes that it was suppose to be some ridiculous alternate history event where there was a second storming after the king was deposed but seeing it again I doubt that's the case. What a shame. I was really pleasantly surprised at how historically accurate Black Flag was but it looks like they're throwing all the history out for this one.

I might also add that the alternate history portion of AC games doesn't usually come in until more than halfway through when the story is more developed, so it seems extremely unlikely to me that anything inaccurate in the trailers and pre-release footage would be that way intentionally due to plot twists and Templar meddling, etc.. It seems like they just got it wrong, and that's the end of it. Hopefully they fix it, but I sort of doubt they will.
