Community / Re: Union Or Confederacy?
« on: November 14, 2012, 12:48:50 am »
I sympathize and support the Confederacy and what they fought for.
Spoiler
Which wasn't slavery.

They were for the preservation of state rights, and that's a freedom been taken away from us. The layers and layers of federal regulation that exist in the U.S. limit our opportunities severely. We have a large expanse of territory and conditions / opinions are different in every region (state). With more state rights, the economy could flow more freely based on its region and state regulation. The government is of the opinion that one remedy fixes all, and I'm here to tell that is not the case.

Political ranting aside, the Confederacy had the right reason to secede.

Community / Re: All the NW mods
« on: November 13, 2012, 03:59:48 pm »
Well, as long as the interest in the mods are still there, we will just continue playing them as usual. The difference between the gameplay would be the biggest thing I see, but I don't think that modders are going to worry about porting their mods to BCoF.

Lets consider what mods are in development; The Zombie Mod, Iron Europe, and the Boshin Ji Hietai. I don't know much about  modding, but these games look promising. They will be modded with the NW coding and played that way.

Don't take offense to what I'm about to say; I don't think, and I'm sure some people agree with me, that all these mods probably will just be played casually. I don't think Iron Europe battles will be too common, just  because gameplay will be a bit slow. Zombie mod will be a good game to play on the side with some friends, and I don't know a lot about the Boshin mod.

NW and N&S communities will port themselves to BCoF when it releases and the mods we come to love will most likely remain played as usual on the NW engine.

Just my opinion though, don't flame  me!  :)

Good luck, my friends!

Forum & Website / Re: Let us make these forums prosper

The community is getting a good start. Now we need to grow and prosper.
I think it'll be interesting to watch the forums grow and develop along with the new game, BCoF.

Community / Re: Favorite map, and why?
« on: November 13, 2012, 06:54:38 am »
La Haye Saint. I loved it from MM and have many good memories of the 77y on that map.

The NW version is just as fun, but not with the significance in which I loved the MM version.

Mapping / Re: Menelaos' Headquarters

I'd like to make a suggestion.

On your shooting range, I recommend you add the targets that are round and report distance and whatnot that was on the training map we used when I was in the FKI.

Remember? I'd love if you add a shooting range like that in on this, it'd be more helpful then you could ever believe. :D

General Discussion / Re: Classes- M&B classes or Custom?
« on: November 13, 2012, 06:23:55 am »
This is just a wish, I don't really know if this is possible.

My Wish
I would want a system where you could choose your troop type and then select your uniform based on that. Without having silly customizations like Zouave pants and 20th Maine kepis. And if that's too complex, I'd prefer NW style with A LOT more options.

They'll probably implement icons. This'll be an interesting week for the forums while they sort of build from the ground up.
Yeah, it reads earlier in this thread that a new design is going to be implemented sometime during the week, that in itself will be exciting to see.

I'm glad I'm around to see this new forum develop and evolve.

Looking forward to this!

Was practicing with my team earlier today and we're ready.  8)
