History

This regiment was formed in June 1806 from squadrons taken from the Alexandria, Izum, Olviopol and Soumy hussar regiments. The Grodno Hussars were led by Yakov Kulniev, a fiery fighter and tough disciplinarian. He was a legend in Russia and died in combat in young age. In 1806-1807 the Grodno Hussars fought at Mishinitzy where they defeated French chasseurs and broke an infantry square. On May 25th 1807 two squadrons led by Kulniev fought at Kommersdorf. They captured many prisoners, ammunition wagons, and destroyed enemy's camp, blew up wagons and carriages and got out of the encirclement. The Grodno Hussars fought at Friedland where they participated in the big cavalry battle. Then, when the French cut off one battalion of the Pavlovsk grenadiers, the Grodno Hussars came with rescue and fend off all attacks made by French cuirassiers.

In 1808-1809 the Grodno hussars participated in the campaign against Sweden: near Viano Farm executed a "powerful charge, driving the Swedes off the field." In March 1809 they participated in the famous march on the frozen Baltic Sea.
In July 1812 French General Jean Saint Geniez was taken prisoner at Onikszty by Kornet Glebov. St. Geniez was the first French general captured by the Russian army during this war.
Between 3rd and 17th July the Grodno Hussars were very active in small warfare and captured up to 2.000 prisoners. In July at Filipova, tye Grodno Hussars (8 squadrons) defeated 12 squadrons of the French 7th and 20th Chasseurs, and a Polish uhlan regiment. The enemy was pursued and 170 were taken prisoner.
On July 18-19th 1812 at Druia the hussars and Cossacks defeated French 11th and 12th Chasseurs and Polish 10th Hussars. In the end of July, within the period of several days Tzytliatzev with 20 hussars captured 200 prisoners. On Oct. 6-7th (18-19th) they fought with distinction at the Second Battle of Polotzk. In April 1813 the Grodno hussars were awarded with silver trumpets for 1812 war.

In 1813 the Grodno Hussars fought in Luneburg, Lutzen, Bautzen and Dresden where they broke the square formed by 5th Voltigeur Regiment of Young Guard. The enemy lost 10 officers and 300 men killed, wounded and taken prisoner.
On Oct. 14th 1813, they fought gallantly in Leipzig, held off all attacks conducted by the Saxons, Polish and French cavalry and won the praise of the witnesses of the battle. A Prussian cuirassier Ernst M. H. von Gaffron wrote: "As far as I remember the Grodno hussars were first through the village of Cröbern, then our regiment, as we went straight into the attack... The Grodno hussars were, as usual, brilliant in combat."
In Leipzig they also attacked artillery deployed between Holzhausen, Zuckelhausen and Stötteritz and seized a couple of guns. On the 3rd day of battle of Leipzig this regiment conducted three consecutive charges. During one of them NCO Gruzenko was the first who got to enemy's battery and killed an officer. The French cavalry counterattacked and Gruzenko had to abandon his trophy. Frustrated he spiked the gun, then drew his pistol and killed the draft horses. Several French dragoons attacked him but being a good swordsman he unsaddled the first attacker with a quick cut. The other dragoons kept respectful distance and let him go. At Probstheida the Grodno and Soumy Hussars "furiously attacked" and overthrew part of French infantry under Marshal Victor. For Leipzig their officers were awarded with Russian and Prussian awards (from Prussian King was the Pour le Mérite order).

In 1814 the Grodno Hussars fought in Brienne, Bar sur Aube, Arcis and Paris. In 1814 the Grodno Hussar Regiment was awarded with badges on their shakos. When the Napoleonic Wars ended this regiment had 400 men who were awarded with Military order for bravery in combat.

About Us

The BrothersOfOne Gaming Community was forged in the early months of 2014, we aimed to appeal to a wide variety of gamers, competitive and casual, and still do aim to appeal to both varieties, we allow anyone to come onto the teamspeak and socialise with other gamers with similar interests. The BrothersOfOne Gaming Community has two competitive clans, both aimed towards the game of Mount And Blade:Warband, of which  one of the clans participates in tournaments based in the original game itself, and the other takes part in tournaments and linebattles in the DLC called Napoleonic Wars. The Native Warband clan is known as the OneEye family, led by Sabo, and is a new but growing clan that looks forward to its future, as it hopefully matures into a great team that we aspire it to be.  The Napoleonic Wars clan, known as The BrothersOfOne Hussars also has the same aim as the Native team and hopes to boast of multiple tournament wins in the future. The community is ran by Cobby and Walter, and both take part in the competitive scenes, Cobby as the Captain of the OneEye Family and Walter as the leader of the BrothersOfOne Hussars. SaBo the leader of the OneEye family also provides servers for the community to use at its leisure. Both Cobby and Walter are willing to spare there time to help others in the community, and socialise and take feedback to help the community, as long as it is in the communities interest. The Website contains further information on both competitive scenes and allows for communication among the community between one another, to socialise and share common interests. If you are banned from one of our servers you may also apply here for an unban appeal for we do not carry out forum bans unless you are harming the community entirely and do not take part in the community for its best interests.

5
Regiments / 5. Kleist Infanterie Regiment *Recruiting EU*
« on: December 12, 2014, 04:27:43 pm »

History

The regiment was raised in 1655 by Colonel Jonas Casimir Baron zu Eulenburg. In 1667, Fürst Boguslaw Radziwill took over command. After his death, Electoral Prince Karl Emil lead the regiment against France till his death in Strasbourg in 1674. Colonel Hans Adam von Schöning merged the regiment with Infantry Regiment No. 1 after the capture of Stettin in 1677. It then took part in the campaign against Sweden and Poland in 1685. The following year, in 1686, the regiment fought under Schöning's command in Hungary and on the Rhine in 1689. In 1690, he was dishonourably discharged by the “Great Kurfürst”.

During the War of the Spanish Succession, under the command of the “Old Dessauer”, the regiment took part in the campaigns in Italy from 1705. In 1707, it became independent again as the Leibregiment. In 1708, it campaigned in Dauphiné and in 1709 in Flanders. From 1713, it carried the name of its long standing Chef Lieutenant-General Georg Abraham von Arnim. In the Pomeranian campaign of 1715, it distinguished itself at Stralsund and Wismar and during the crossing over to the isle of Rügen.

From 1716, the Fortress of Magdeburg became the garrison place of the regiment. It recruited in the districts of Luckenwalde and Jerichow and in several towns of the Duchy of Magdeburg: Aken, Calbe, Egeln, Görtzke, Loburg, Luckenwalde, Magdeburg and Stassfurt.

**

In 1732, Lieutenant-General Christoph Heinrich von der Goltz succeeded Lieutenant-General Jakob von Beschefer as the Chef of the regiment. In 1739, Colonel Johann Heinrich von Wedell took over command of this elite regiment.

During the First Silesian War (1740-1742), only the grenadiers of the regiment came into operation while the regiment was assigned to the Observation Corps of the “Old Dessauer” against the Saxons and Hanoverians. In a night attack the Grenadier Battalion 5/21 under the command of Major Hans Carl von Winterfeldt stormed the “Brostauer Gate” of the Fortress of Glogau. Four weeks later in the Battle of Mollwitz (April 10, 1741) the Grenadier Battalion 5/21 stood on the right wing steadfast between the beaten Prussian cavalry and lost 211 men. At Chotusitz (May 17, 1742) again on the right wing losses were light but the regimental Chef Colonel von Wedell was killed in action. His successor was Colonel Anselm Christoph von Bonin.
During the Second Silesian War (1744-1745), the regiment fought in the second line at the Battle of Hohenfriedberg (June 4, 1745) as part of the Hertzberg's Brigade. It took part in the last infantry attack of 18 Prussian battalions against 33 Austrian battalions between Thomaswaldau and Günthersdorf. In the winter battle of Kesseldorf (December 15, 1745), the regiment within the Kalnein's Brigade attacked the hill range south west of Zöllmen and broke through the Saxon centre.
During the Seven Years' War, the chef of the regiment was:
since June 7 1755 to December 12 1766: Lieutenant-General Duke Ferdinand von Braunschweig (Ferdinand of Brunswick)
In 1763 the Infantery Regiment Herzog von Braunschweig had a nominal strength of 50 officers, 118 NCOs, 12 surgeons, 48 musicians, 274 grenadiers including carpenters and 1,220 musketeers, for a total 1,722 men.

Regiments / 5tes (Pommersches) Husaren Regiment [Recruiting EU]
« on: August 01, 2014, 04:15:27 pm »

Introduction

The 5tes (Pommersches) Husaren Regiment is a new cavalry regiment that strives to become a active, disciplined and skilled regiment, although being serious and disciplined we still have a lot of fun doing massive 100 vs 100 battles and playing on servers across the community! We try to keep everyone together even when there isnt a napoleonic wars event and encourage people in the regiment to come on teamspeak when gaming and to play different games with each other and make their gaming experiences even better!

The Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire Regiment was the final title of an infantry regiment of the line in the British Army originally formed in 1688. The lineage of the regiment is today continued by the Royal Anglian Regiment.
The origins of the regiment go back to 9 October 1688 when the raising of Archibald Douglas' Regiment of Foot was authorised by King James II in response to the threat posed to his throne by Prince William of Orange. The regiment was raised in the southern counties of England, and was embodied in Reading, Berkshire. The new regiment was ordered to London to oppose William's forces, but refused to fight. James fled the country allowing William to become king. Colonel Douglas, an adherent of the displaced monarch, was replaced by Robert Hodges and the regiment was allowed to continue in existence as part of William's army.
Waterloo History Of the 16th .1815 Rushed back to England in response to Napoleon's revival, leaving Quebec in July and arriving at Portsmouth in August before being moved to join Wellington's army at Ostend. Moved into the army of occupation in Paris and finally sent back to England. They miss the battle of Waterloo due to their transport from Canada being late and, once the treaty was concluded, march back to Calais and arrive at Dover very late in December.
