Reasons why I created this Regiment
I wanted to create this regiment because i have a great group of lads who are extremly loyal. This regiment is based on 3 families, MacGregors, MacVicars,MacAlisters. This is a pretty unique regiment for warband. We are going for a competitive style type of a regiment! This is regiment is intended to be Strict, Disciplined, and Focused on the task at hand. In teamspeak, Just try not to talk over the leader, In game we will be the most disciplined, We will be the most mature regiment, We will be that regiment that doesn't fight back when being team killed by faggots, We are the regiment that has the winning side.
Events will probably be Linebattles and Sieges for now and/or campaign events.

Family History of the MacGregors

In 1519 Iain of Glenstrae died without direct heirs and the MacVicars supported the succession of Eian MacGregor (who was married to the daughter of Colin MacVicar of Glenorchy). Eian's son, Alistair, fought at the Battle of Pinkie in 1547 but, following his death, Colin MacVicar refused to acknowledge the claim to the land by Gregor Roy MacGregor. Gregor was forced to wage a guerilla war for ten years but was captured and killed by the MacAlisters in 1570.
MacGregors were involved in the killing of John MacAllister, the king's forester (after Drummond had hung some MacGregors for poaching) in 1589 and MacGregors took part in the Conflict of Glenfruin in 1603. With encouragement from the MacAllisters, King James VI and the Privy Council issued an edict banning the use of the name MacGregor. The clan chief was hanged at Edinburgh's Mercat Cross in 1604. Many adopted the name Murray, Graham, Stewart, Grant and even MacVicar. The surname was not fully restored until 1774.
Now, with the MacVicars unsure of their own intregrity, and the MacGregor family restored to their former glory, the MacAlisters were forced by the House of Commons to offer their services as an inproper, 'penal' battalion for the Commonwealth force of New Zealand, after their banishment in 1790.
Naturally, as was the 'honorable' thing to do, the MacVicars offered their own Battalion to the MacGregors, who happily accepted. Perhaps this new service could restore their family relations.
The MacGregor clan motto is "'S rioghal mo dhream" which means "My race is royal" and refers to the claim that they are descended from Griogar, a son of Alpin, king of Dalriada.

The McVicar clan were originally closely associated with the MacGregors, and afterwards appear to have followed the MacAllisters in opposition of their former allies, if only for a few decades.
The first recorded spelling of the family name is shown to be that of James Makuecar, burgess of Glasgow, which was dated 1488, in the "Ecclesiastical Registers of Glasgow", during the reign of King James III of Scotland, 1460 - 1488.
The MacVicars were overwhelmingly ambitious. And where ambition lies, neighbors suffer.
A plot was hatched to break the MacGregor's power and get rid of them. A tool was ready in the person of Hugh MacAllister, son of John MacAllister, the King's forrester, a villain of the Ten Year War. He was bribed by a promise of money and lands by his uncle Donald MacAllister of Sleat and by the head of Clan MacVicar. Even the Privy Council in Edinburgh was involved, and it is said that Queen Elizabeth of England herself took an interest in the conspiracy, the aim of which was to murder the MacVicars. Donald, am Phiocair Mor, was invited to a conference in Edinburgh in the autumn of 1581.
Earlier, in 1547. The Battle of Pinkie decided the fate of the MacGregors, for that period of Scottish-Irish history. They advanced in large numbers, supported by the MacVicars on their flanks, but unbeknowst to them, the MacVicars were mercenaries for the more wealthy, and more politically powered MacAllisters. John MacAllister landed at the capital of the MacGregors, Lochmaddy with a large force and before proceeding to Pinkie in the north of the Island, made for Lochmaddy and murdered the family. He also set fire to all their houses and burned the valuable documents and papers. Then, by deceit and treachery and, worse still under the pretence of friendship, he lured the other brothers, Angus, Hector, and John, to his headquarters at Pinkie. There, at a banquet, he put the majority of the MacGregors to death in cold blood.
This tragedy took place about 1547, six years after the Reformation.
It may seem difficult to imagine, but the MacVicar Family would pay for this in due time. In the mid 1780s, they actually immigrated to New Zealand at the King's command. The first time their family had been unfavored by the Monarch in their history. Janet McVicar arrived in Wellington, New Zealand aboard the ship, "New Era" in 1788. However, back home in Scotland, the MacVicars were completely dishonored. The MacGregor name restored, and their own honor destroyed in the aftermath of a terrible, long forgotten history.
Seeking to perhaps restore their tarnished name, they were an unusual kind of criminal; before they would be commissioned into a penal battalion, they offered their services as volunteers, to the 1st Scottish Highlanders.. Begrudgingly, perhaps out of need, the MacGregors accepted. Though they appeared happy, they were always cautious. And rightfully so.

With the King's favor, they grew from being a minor clan in the early 1400s, to owning a large parcel of land, and being formed into their own, independent clan by 1494.
In the 14th Century, however, is where our tale begins. In the 1520s, the Drummonds, under the command of the MacAllisters, hung a few MacGregors for supposedly, 'poaching' on their lands given to them by King James VI.
The MacGregors, despite this disgrace, grew very powerful. Even powerful enough to rival the MacAllisters, if they chose to. And so, a very nasty and evil plot was hatched to break their power.
