Events: EU / 40th Tuesday Line-Only Event [104/120]

I'm not one for smalltalk or overcomplicating things that ought to be simple.

This event will be hosted on Tuesdays at 7 GMT, consist of ONLY lines without FIC or OA, and without small lines.

The event's rules will be enforced strictly and without question. Don't like it? Don't apply.

The event will receive a Head Administrator with the appropriate powers to run it without my (Rhen's) interference.

We are currently looking to start 26/11/2019, and initiate a break around Christmas-New Year, and then resume again in 2020.

Skandinavia deltar dette året som et lag i Cavalry Nations Cup (CNC), og vi trenger flere spillere fra både Norge, Danmark, Sverige og Finland til å kunne danne et fullt lag med best mulig deltakelse. Vi leter etter folk med både tid og interesse, og forhåpentligvis noe bakgrunnskunnskaper, selv om dette ikke er nødvendig. Det hele starter den 13. november, og vi håper å samle mest mulig folk før da, for å både trene og danne et ordentlig lag.

Scandinavia will be participating in the Cavalry Nations Cup (CNC) this year, and we need more players from both Norway, Denmark, Sweden and Finland to establish a proper team with the best possible attendance. We are looking for people with both the time and interest, and hopefully with some previous skills, although this is not a requirement. The cup starts on the 13/11, and we hope to gather as many people as possible before then, to both train them and create a proper team.

10th Regiment of Hussars

Almost half a year now since its creation (Nov. 2016), and the 10th Hussars has done well for itself. It has established itself as one of the few yet still active cavalry regiments, and increases to improve both on the field and in numbers. Much has changed since its creation, and much will continue to change as the release dates to both Bannerlord and Holdfast are closing in. Only time will tell what will happen in the future.

For those new to the regiment or its community - or those of you who are just curious, the 10th Hussars was, like previously stated, established around the end of 2016 after the IIa decided to restructure itself and bring in more veteran players from the game to work with the then already-established community. So far, the 10th Hussars has been able to progress well, and won many unexpected victories after learning from its fair yet few defeats. The regiment does, however, continue to follow its policy of taking events seriously, intending to lift itself up into the scene of the bigger cavalry regiments and pose a challenge to those who fight it. A Brief Summary of the 10th's History

In 1783 King George III ordered it to switch from dragoons to light dragoons and renamed it after his eldest son the Prince of Wales, who became its colonel in 1796. Impressed by the colourful uniforms of the French and Allied cavalry, the Prince of Wales renamed, re-clothed and re-equipped the regiment as Britain’s first ever hussar unit in 1806 and remained its colonel until his coronation as King George IV in 1820. In 1808 the regiment sailed for the Peninsula, where it was used to screen Sir John Moore’s retreat to Corunna (1809). During that operation it captured 100 French cavalry on Christmas Day, as well as fighting at Benavente, where Private Grisdall of the regiment captured General Lefebvre-Desnoettes, the French cavalry’s commander-in-chief. It was evacuated with the rest of the army in January 1809 and only returned to the Peninsula in 1813, fighting its way into France. It fought in the Waterloo campaign of 1815, where one of its patrols brought Wellington news of the Prussian retreat at Wavre, and then joined the Army of Occupation in Paris for a year. It then spent 30 years in England, with the exception of two squadrons which were sent to Portugal in 1826.

The II-y Hussars Brigade is an international brigade which consists of two hussars regiments; the Pavlograd Hussars (English-speaking) and the Sumskoy Hussars (Russian-speaking). It provides its members with a large and culturally diverse community. Whilst the brigade does intend to hold a competitive standard, members will be indulged into a relaxed and fun environment outside of events.

Det skandinaviske/-a forumet / Motto

Hensikten med denne threaden er å finne et motto til vårt respektive language board; det skandinaviske forumet. Mottoet skal reflektere det skandinaviske og selvfølgelig gjøre en stolt. I tillegg vil dette temaet kanskje blåse ennå mer liv i det skandinaviske forumets gjenoppståelse.

På lik linje med de andre language boards, synes jeg at det skandinaviske forumet også bør få et motto. Nu i senere tid har jeg lagt merke til, takk mine norske brødre, at det skandinaviske forumet brukes mer og mer. Kanskje er tiden for å handle kommet, og vi må bare gi forumet det siste lille ekstra for å blåse full liv i den og slå for eksempel aktiviteten i det nederlandske forumet. Vi vil vel ikke være dårligere enn dem.

Så her er kanskje noe for å få tankeprosessen i gang: Skal mottoet for eksempel komme fra en bestemt skandinavisk nasjon, eller foretrekkes det å ha en sitat om Skandinavia? Er det kanskje bedre å ha mottoet på norrønt eller er det andre forslag? Hva med viktingtiden?

Dette er altså bare noen ideer. Andre foreslag taes med åpne armer.

Visst der er ingen interesse, så kan ideen også droppes.


Et annet tema som kan tas opp får debatt er å endre navn på denne boarden.

Competitive EU Events/Tournaments / ♞ Napoleonic Wars Cavalry Tournament (NWCT) [16/16] ♞

Introduction

Although the NWCT is referred to as a "tournament", due to its small scale and non-regiment/nationality-relation, it functions like a league. It consists of 16 teams (EU), without groups, where teams can earn points through the outcome of their matches. The intention of the tournament is to both provide the cavalry community with new and exciting events, but also help lay the foundation for the soon-inbound cavalry community list(s).

Rules - How Things Work & In-Game Rules Rules - Updated Last 29.02.2016 How It Works §1. Teams will battle each other in a "best of 10" mode. §2. You gain a point for every round won. §3. Teams consist of three players. §3.1. Having reserve players is optional. §3.2. You can have a maximum of two reserve players. §4. Participators cannot be in more than one team. §5. Teams are circulated every 4 days 5 days. §6. The tournament will continue until all teams have faced each other. §7. The team which at the end of the NWCT has the most points, wins. §8. When applying as a team, keep the team name simple and mature. §9. Teams with offensive or provocative names will not be accepted. §10. Participators with offensive or provocative names will not be accepted. §11. Changing (team) names once accepted is not possible. §12. Adding/changing players, etc., is no longer possible after the deadline. §13. Reserve the servers with referees for your planned matches. §14. You must have organised your matches by the third day. In-Game Rules §1. All participators must play hussar, ranker at all times. §2. Available factions are: All apart from Russia. §3. The referee decides upon the factions, but can take requests. §4. Two of the same factions cannot face each other, i.e. France vs. France is not allowed. §5. The map has to be agreed upon by both sides. §5.1. There will be no side swap - not even on request. §6. Both team captains must state that their respective teams are ready before every round commences. §7. Team captains can ask for a temporary break with the referee. §7.1. If the opposing team does not agree to a temporary break, the game will continue. §8. All chat is otherwise forbidden. This rule exists to prevent discussions. §8.1. This includes chatting before and after the match (like "Hi" or "gg"). §9. Trolling is also of course forbidden; this includes trolling someone in Steam during a match. §10. Breaking any of these rules will result in losing a point. The tournament host decides. §10.1. Breaking §8 and §9 will result in an additional minus point (= -2 points). §11. These rules apply at all times on the servers even when there's no match going on. §12. Be mature and noble. This is a cavalry tournament, not an infantry tournament. §13. Glitching (or sticking to) is also forbidden (rocks, trees, walls, etc.). §14. You can ref' your own matches if you're a referee and both sides agree on it. §15. The host only can subtract points from teams, in relevance towards §10, and §10.1. If a problem occurs; 1) Take it up directly with the administrator over Steam. 2) Screenshot it and take it to me. - Teams can lose points even after the match has finished. - [close]
