The Army of the Potomac

ABOUT US
The Army of the Potomac is an organized formation of Union and Neutral Regiments to help coordinate ourselves in game only during events to help give our side a sense of structure and organization that has been missing since the Heritage Rifles events. Unlike how these style organizations worked in Mount and Blade and more recently Battle Cry of Freedom, this only affects our associated units in game and no one unit or person hold power over the rest. If you are in or run a regiment in this game and are interested in joining, then please by all means post below and we would be happy to have you in our group. We are open to Union and Neutral units as of the moment.

HISTORY

Historically, The Army of the Potomac was formed on July 26th, 1861 after the defeat of it's predecessor The Army of Northeastern Virginia was defeated at the Battle of First Manassas on July 21st, 1861. The Army of the Potomac would be pitted against multiple Confederate Armies throughout the war including The Army of the Potomac, The Army of Northern Virginia and The Army of the Shenandoah. The Army of the Potomac would be involved in some the most influential and devastating battles of the conflict including the Battle of Antietam which saw 12,410 casualties, the Battle of Gettysburg which saw 32,043 casualties and the Overland Campaign that saw 54,926 casualties. The Army of the Potomac would also be the army to finally defeat General Robert E. Lee and see his armies surrender at Appomattox Courthouse on April 8th, 1865. The Army of the Potomac would disband on June 28th, 1865 after it's Grand Review in Washington D.C.

In Game however, The Army of the Potomac was formed on August 13th, 2022. The units of our group can trace their time in this style of game back to Mount and Blade Warband whether it was Napoleonic Wars or North and South. With the current state of the game it was apparent that we needed a Union organization that was organized and structured in a way to not infringe upon the members of the unit but to also give us the ability to coordinate and not be split apart constantly. So the 1st MN, 1st NJ and 2nd MD came together to form this unit.

The 2nd Maryland Volunteer Infantry, is making an official announcement that as of 08/13/2022, The 2nd Maryland Volunteer Infantry is apart of an organization called The Army of the Potomac. We are in cooperation with other Union units in this endeavor to create a more organized Union force without all the non sense of brigades/divisions that plagued North and South, as well as War of Rights and Battle Cry of Freedom. I wish the best of luck to our fellow units in this group and hope that the next BCoF update revives the game to it's original player base and more.

21 Man Line tonight at a high and 18 before the event ended. The biggest line we have brought in Battle Cry Of Freedom and the biggest line I have seen our unit muster since the days of North and South 1.0. Our unit is full of old members from the 1st U.S.R. and the WPMA along with newer members from our time in War of Rights and new recruits from Battle Cry of Freedom. For people who say you can't recruit and that this game is dead, you might wanna look at our model of doing things and see if that helps you with unit growth. We started in February with 5 men and have grown to 21. #2nd Maryland Best Maryland!

12 man line tonight at the Wednesday event. Hopefully they polish up on that new gamemode. Though some people claim we have no one in our unit believe me we do and there is more than this at the Saturday Main Events. If you are interested in joining a casual regiment or are from the State of Maryland than look no further. #2ndMD Best MD!

Yall ever just want to be a rotisserie chicken?

Head empty, rotating slowly while warm and cozy
You know I never thought of life that way but I like the sound of that.

8
I know we would have tore through them, they would have never crossed the river though the event was still fun even if we had to help out our enemies.

9
Hopefully it never happens again.

17 Men tonight though sadly we had to fight against our brothers in the 1stNJ. Wish we could have had the 1st NJ, 2nd MD and 41st NY all on the same team so the Union could have won.

11
Well if you still got guys who wanna play the game the 2nd Maryland will take them.

12 man line tonight at the Wednesday event and we absolutely rekt in melee. If you are interested in joining a casual unit or are a native Marylander than we are the unit for you!

13
Thank you very much but without the 1st NJ spearheading the assault last night we would have never captured that fort.
